  • This is some good cake. :)

  • Haha right on good XD

  • whats up with all the pink hats these fans are wearing?

  • @jpuck28822 Umm, the event is called PinkPop. I think that's a good explanation.

  • @itsagreatstepup Lmao... I'm an atheist, I didn't understand a word of the garble that spewed out of your keyboard.

  • @TheDocJayz do you realize being an atheist is as bad as a jesus freak ? i bet not !!!

  • the only band I dig that has a trumpet

  • @kimasutra8 Try Reel Big Fish (looooooove their cover of "take on me" by ah-ha

  • This song was written about the great "Justin Ray Jones", who was playing music in bars and clubs from an early age. He rededicated what he had done with God, not knowing that he would be shot only three months later at a new years eve party on 1999. Justin lived by the grace of Jesus the great physician. And He'll heal you, too. If you'll see the Lord jesus without reservation.

  • @itsagreatstepup Nope. It's about hipsters.

  • hell yes!

  • This song is grammatically correct AND socially scathing. Cake is cool.

  • Did he ask how much you paid for your bad Moto Guzzi... No more than it is worth... Moto guzzi's rock!!!!!

  • theyre all just so badass at each part they preform

  • this song is awesome

  • i wanna girl with a shirt skirt and a looooong

    ...

oh thats an another song !

    but sounded really related

    also nice smooth rockin sound

u dont need to explod like on a rage against the machine gig like middy said

(or like i did last year with ratm at rock im park , which was better know as RAGE IM PARK that year :D)

  • Like if you hate hipsters

  • What a dumb audience.

  • @MiddyChannel Its CAKE dude its not like Rage Against the Machine

  • @SuperAlienX True. Ha ha.

  • this song is about hipsters.

  • For Gwen and Nicole. I miss my ladies.

  • TO ALL THOSE WHO COMPLAINED THAT THE CAKE'S AUDIENCE IS LAME, STIFF, OR DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DANCE:

Not all songs are meant to be danced along. These guys make sense, not to 'just' entertain by talking something ephemeral.

  • I don't know but I just came from a concert of Placebo, man there are too many concerts here in Lima lately. But I really pay for see very soon at CAKE

  • sarah get a life

  • First notes rock and roll scale, like MR BROWNSTONE

  • that song has a real rock n' roll atitude, it just criticized the generic rock n' roll lifestyle!

  • what a stiff crowd.

  • hey I love cake's music and their cool vibe and I do want to go to a concert. I've read comments that say that cake's audiences are too 'dead'. While that is not untrue, I do wonder how much and how to 'move' to their music if I were there...

  • cake is awsome live and once they start playing dance however u want nobody cares

  • There is no correct way to dance at shows. There is only a wrong way. Haha

  • @RockHimselfthe2nd - Read THIS comment! I've watched them here in Portugal a few years ago. It poured heavy rain for the whole show, the singer was always saying: "Go home, you're crazy, think of your mothers". Amazing show, and most of the people there probably didn't even know Cake at the time! About 400 stood in the rain for 2 hours, in early May, which is cold as fuck here. Love this band!

  • Cake usually is so energetic, live... they almost seem bored in this video.. or is that just me? The vocals were definitely far more relaxed, than is typical.

  • I saw them a few months ago in Dallas. I was pretty bummed out. The entire concert was like this video. They were sort of unenthusiastic.

  • I think they're more of an album band than live band...which isn't a bad thing, just the way they are. I think they sound much better on CD, but you gotta go out sometimes.

  • You know why theyre relaxed?

They play in the Netherlands dude.... =D

  • @Guelah1Papyrus must be the sucky venue...or vibes from the quiet crowd...??

  • damn, move people! MOVE!

they should be jumping, or clapping!

  • Allllllll right.

  • oooooh yeah!

  • damn cool man... they are just cooool

  • I was saw this show, but didn't really enjoyed it at that time. Seems good now, though!

And this is a proof I was there :P

  • The crowd sounds like they are asleep to be fair.

  • This is like, even more relevant these days, in the age of digital downloads

  • HEY! ALRIGHT! AH NO! HEY! HO! YEAH!!

  • i LOVE CAKE!!! i love it when John goes 'oh yeah' and Vince plays a mean trumpet!

  • They are so awesome, One of my favorite bands! =) although it is pretty funny when their all singing together "as long as their soda cans.." they sound so bored haha XD

  • awesome lyrics

  • Cake is good for that. But this one especially pleases me. Its for the posers out there.

  • omg i love cake and this song rocks

  • Is it just me, or does Cake usually sound WAY better in concert? Some of their best songs sound like CRAP on the album. "The Distance", "Rock 'n' Roll Lifestyle"... just to name a few. :P

  • you're wrong. The first time I heard "the distance" I thought it was an amazing song. That was the CD version.

  • Meh, my opinion :P I guess it doesn't help that the first time I heard it was the live version, and I just took a huge liking to it.

I also take back saying they sound like crap, since they don't. I just prefer their live versions :P

  • The distance sounds awesome in the live recordings. It's just 'heavy' and has a real sorta, I dunno hip-hop groove to it.

  • Why would cake tour in the netherlands? they aren't appreciated there. look at that crowd. they should be screaming "How do you afford your rock'n'roll lifestyle!" at the top of their lungs!

  • Maybe CAKE was so good they put them into a trance where they didn't have control of themselves, and were therefore boring? :P

  • maybe they hope to expand their fanbase?

  • I saw Cake, The Deftones, and Korn all in the same TINY club (The Cattle Club) on the same bill, in Sacto WAY back in the day. It cost $12.

  • This song is wayyy awesome live. I just don't like how they always leave out the "You're drinkin' what they're selling" verse! Great verse there, but love the song anyhow.

  • Loooooooooooooooooooooooveeeeeeeeee it ^^

  • This band is TERRIFIC live!

Oh man, CAKE is what Sacremento can be proud of!

  • I saw them live, best 150 dollars ever spent(front row :D)

  • GAD-zooks!

    150 Clams????

Dang ... That'd put me in hawk for a good few years, LOL.

  • But it was wonnza the best things id eva seen!!!(now to find Metallica tickets would be impossible :(

  • I'm going to name my band Ice Creme, and tour with Cake.

  • hell yeah! thats funny shit!

  • Well, Cake has a cover of Bread, so now you just need to cover a song by... hrm...

    Someone else.

  • AS LONG AS THEIR SODA CANS R RED WHITE N BLUE ONES!!!!

    thats my fave part XD

  • Awesome... this is a super-fun song. I think I'll watch it again, right now.

  • I love it when people judge music when they don't back it up or state what they like. Seriously. Cake kicks some serious ass. At least they have talent.

  • I do.

  • thanks!

  • cake is just the epitome of amazing

  • Great video! I love this song. The lyrics are so ironic.

What a stupid comment about the bassist...

    Thanks for sharing.

  • i meant whoever filmed this missed the bassist completly. they recored everyone else BUT the bassist. i was dissappointed. dont get ur panties in a bundle

  • It's not like he was recording this himself. I think if you search enough on Google you can find a really old music video of it. I'm pretty sure I saw it somewhere.

  • Do you think I shot this on a cell-phone camera or something?

  • no, on like five cell phone camera's right?

  • @mikemoring

    Yes.

  • @mikemoring oh i'd never think that ! I'm sure you're far too good for anything like that ! damn

  • The "bassist" is named Gabe Nelson, and he's a friend of mine, so I understand the woe in people cutting him out of things. Bassists usually miss the airtime.

  • is there an official version of this video? cause I'd love to see it..thanks..
