A perfect God does not have human failures, such as wrath, jealousy, or hatred. In this the bible is wrong. Those categories describe a false God. As Bart Ehrman concluded, the bible is not the word of God, it is only the word of man. A book so full of contradiction and error should not be confused with anything God would write. God does not write books, He writes in His creation.
@marlessangela :::To read the whole thing would just enforce my opinion. See Bart Ehrmans book "Jesus, Interrupted". He spells out the contradictions. If I rewrote the bible, would you believe it? I have a book I treat as a bible, it is a book called Oahspe which you have never heard of. Religion is simple, and does not need a bible. It is stated in Micah 6:8. I will just use that one verse for my whole bible.
Sorry you're such a close minded person. Maybe you should have researched a little bit about Christian Universalism before you bashed it since 95% of what you said is incorrect. But then again, you're the typical Fundamentalist Christian who thinks a loving God is going to sends billions of people to hell for eternity... very, very sad.
Most Universalists dont go to church. The Ecclesia of Christ has no walls. Most of us Universalists have left the traditions of Rome. And yes. The doctrine of eternal torment or torture is a lie created by the church by its false interpretations of scripture due to ignorance.
Just thought I'd share a little something with you. I've been atheist all of my life and last week I had something really amazing happen to me. I'm not going into detail about what happened. I don't have that many characters remaining. The direction he pointed me in is Christian Universalism. I didn't even know there was such a thing, since as I stated before, I've been atheist my whole life. I'm looking into becoming a minister and teach others. Not saying to believe me, I just wanted to share
Jesus was not happy with 99 percent he wanted to save the lost sheep to, so much so that he left the 99 and went out and looked for the one until he found it and brought it back to the fold, notice the lost sheep didn't have to come looking for Jesus, didn't have to beg for forgiveness, or do some chores to be saved. See God created all mankind to be in his heavenly kingdom, and has every intention on saving all of them, any less would be a failure.
actually that's not all they teach, they teach that those that have never heard and those that reject god will go through a purification process called Hell Fire, not to torture them but to purify and convince, that those that accept and are called now don't have to endure. Its up to the individual to learn more about God in detail. Paul spoke to the church as a whole telling them how to live a better life, he taught that certain behavior had consequences.
I Iove you as a sister, but your commentary is deplorable and without sound scholarly conscience. It seems you have completely misunderstood biblical universalism. Although you claim to esteem Scripture as infallible, you don't seem to think Paul said: "For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming, then comes the end.." Nor that he said: "I suffer not a woman to teach".
When the woman cought in adultry was brought before Jesus He said, whoever is w/out sin can cast the 1st stone...when they were all gone He asked her if anybody condmned her and she said 'no' so he said "..Neither do I....OK...he was w/out sin and He did not cast a stone because His grace is pure and true...Gods Grace will not allow a "hell" to excist, outside of that which we create here on earth. Yes, God's Grace defeats sin. Now that's good news!
Marlessangela, please think about this scenario for moment. Think about someone you love very much, a relative, close friend or parent. Now think about this individual cooked alive in an inferno, his/her face writhed in agony, with pain THAT DOES NOT END. Can you sincerely worship this type of God while this scenario is unfolding as I type this? I certainly cannot. I once believed in the fund. teaching of hellfire, but fortunately, rigorous study of the Bible has opened my eyes to the truth.
God loves you very much. And does wait for us with open arms...to return to him. The book of Hosea is a beautiful illustration of that. It was God's loving kindness that led me to repentance. I take it you haven't watched my video "God Loves you". It gets into my testimony- and I did not come to Christ out of "religiosity", or a church or a "sinners prayer" or "fear". That is hurtful to hear you claim to understand the reason for my salvation, when you didn't save me. God did.
"The fire is a purifying fire used as love to restore and reconcile. Underworld is the grave...mankind's common grave..so please don';t quote that to me."
I'd love to hear how scripture backs this up? Fire used as love? To restore and reconcile? So what do we need the cross for if all will be reconciled through Gods "fire"? Did Jesus really need to die? What would the purpose of that be then?
@marlessangela No, you arenotlistening. The scriptures cannot back this up.It isbackedup by analyzinghow contemporary writers such as Plato, Aristotle, Philo used similar words.
There are many references in the Bible to God showing himself as fire. What about God coming in the burning bush to Moses, or preventing the Egyptian soldiers from catching the Hebrews by a pillar of fire. "Our God is a consuming fire" Hebrews 12:29. 1 Corinthians 3:13 was already mentioned. You also stated that Yeshua (Jesus) gave us the word "Hell". This is incorrect. The scriptures never record Jesus using the word Hell but Gehenna, Sheol, and Hades.
@marlessangela "So what do we need the cross for if all will be reconciled through Gods "fire"? Did Jesus really need to die? What would the purpose of that be then?"
Precisely to save all mankind from sin and evil. God didn't let a single drop of His Son's blood go to waste and all will be reconciled and saved...
the Hebrew Sheol and the Greek Hades, merely mean death grave that is where we remain until the last day. the lake of fire is where the wicket will parish, will be cut off , consumed, words that all indicate a end,. the punishment effects are eternal , not the punishing
@nomyaw -_- *Sigh* Please, Lord, open the eyes of all those anihilationists and show them that the scriptures don't support that doctrine anymore than eternal punishment...
First of all, have you read the Old testament? I have a Hebrew Tanakh if you want to take a look at it. There's more scriptures describing "hell" than heaven! Some verses in "Hebrew" may not say hell, but still allude to a place of God's wrath and contempt:: Etc., Daniel 12:2 says "abhorrence" in Hebrew. In Deut 32:22 it says "nether-world" which is similar to "the underworld" and as a place for God's kindling fire. Psalm 55:15, Ezekiel 31:16 describes "hell" as a pit/underworld.
Hell is just a term that most Christian circles use today. Historical scholars and writers of the bible used different terms that meant the exact same thing as todays, "hell" . The mention of a underworld with Gods contempt is mentioned more in the old testament than the new testament. When Yeshua came to this earth, He actually gave this underworld a name..."HELL" . God is just and sovereign and holy. He always will be. WE are the evil figures that arose a just God to anger.
Don't you guys understand....my heart is breaking.
1 THESS 5:9?
PLEASE read that and examine that verse.
Do you understand what a sovereign and holy God requires in order for us to get into heaven? PERFECTION. Does a HOLY and JUST God want heaven corrupted and infiltrated with evil men who hate his name, and despise the things of God. Why on earth would he do something that demonic in heaven?
@marlessangela "I feel like weeping right now." Really? Because CUs do not believe in eternal torment? I suppose the thought of billions being tormented endlessly makes you feel otherwise. Why fundamentalists push the idea of eternal hellfire (when it has no Biblical basis) is for one reason...coercion. What better way to control the Church than to preach eternal damnation from the pulpit.
She seems to mix Christian universalism with Unitarian Universalism at some points. A Christian Universalists believes that all will come to Christ eventually and they are saved by his blood. They don't believe all religions are equal.
I should add that I favor destruction of the wicked which fits well with both John 3:16 and Romans 6:23, however, I believe that many more will be saved than some think, otherwise 1 Corinthians 15:22 would be a very lopsided barbell!
galatians 5:19 people who do fits of anger dissensions envy strife will not enter the kingdom of God and do not judge youve committed all of these things by posting this video . In Adam we All die in Christ we All live!
Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation(Adam); even so by the righteousness of one(Christ) the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
it was a free gift that came upon ALL to justification of life.
All shall be justified.
1Ti 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
This ideology sounds nice, incredibly convenient, but nice. It seems that this belief is rather "worldly" as it appears to be a way of making people feel okay about not taking responsibilty for their sins; while responsibility is what Christianity should be built on. We are responsible to recognize our sins, and if we choose, to believe in Christ and be redeemed.Yet to be redeemed we must suffer here on EARTH to ensure ourselves treasures in heaven.
*Snort* That marlessangela girl doesn't even know what she's talking about. She doesn't know the first thing about Christian Universalism because she really didn't study it. You can tell. If anyone wants infos, hit my channel. You'll find a list of links and a playlist...
No offense intended, but this is a very poor discussion on CU, which dates at least as far back as St. Clement of Alexandria and St. Gregory of Nyssa. Your description of CU is also only partially applicable to some CUs. Please get a copy of Robin Parry's 2006 book "The Evangelical Universalist" (written under the pen name Gregory MacDonald) and Thomas Talbott's 1999 book "The Inescapable Love of God" (for starters) to see what I mean. Or, I could send you my own essays (for free). Peace
I think this whole thing predates back to the garden of eden.....when the serpent said to the woman "Did God really say" (Genesis 3:1 )
ever since, this idea of solidarity of the word of God and it's context has been in cahoots, attacking substitutionary atonement. Whatever happened to Sola scriptura, Sola fide, Sola gratia, Solus Christus, Soli Deo gloria! The bible is clear on the subject of salvation, we don't need to change it. It's dangerous.
@marlessangela Please look into Parry and Talbott's work. They used the Bible to defend universalism. I also make a scriptural case for universalism in my essays. If you have any interest in reading them, let me know. My point is that you seem to be unaware of the arguments and nuances that are involved - the argumens that have been offered by universalists. Talbott and Parry (and I) discuss Matthew 25:46, 1 Thess, and other hell texts. Please familiarize yourself with the literature. Peace.
Wages of sin is death. Did Jesus DIE for our sins on the cross for our sin? Was the cross not sufficient? THEN you ha e the GALL to tell me that the wages, is not death, but LIFE in torment? Answer me, is it Gods desire to save everyone? Just answer that question?
@marlessangela "why the idea of hell bothers you so much"
The idea of people being tortured forever doesn't strike a nerve with you? It SHOULD. The thought of human beings suffering forever doesn't say that something is wrong? Just where is your love for the sinner? Let me answer it for you, it doesn't exist.
@phillip78 I do too this does not mean all will come to be saved if they don't believe and receive the means in which salvation has be brought about and provided by God...Prov 16:4 "The LORD has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster" All can be saved but all will not be simply because all will not embrace Christ as Savior here and now..
One more thought and I'll leave you alone. "don't go to man or a preacher" My question. Do you go to church? I once was a hard core believer in hell also, but GOD challenged me to seek him further. I know you are sincere about what you believe, however you are sincerely wrong.
@marlessangela That's right. And your following right in with the majority of what man believes and is following. I gave you facts that you can verify for yourself. Please do the research.
I disagree. Christian universalism perverts and prostitutes the gospel of Jesus Christ to something that it is NOT and with this..it is very dangerous. It also paints a picture of hell that is NOT biblical: "Hell is a redeeming, cleansing, purifying fire that destroys the satanic ego and reforms the human personality in the image of Christ - not an eternal vindictive torture by an angry and sadistic god." Inform me about how this is biblical using the bible, not some guru's teaching
@phillip78 So do you believe in the eventual restoration of all people to God? and that all mankind will be reconciled to God through the sacrifice of Christ? Do you believe not all will be saved at the same time? Concerning the judgments of God, hell, God's wrath do you believe that this is not an eternal or everlasting condition and the end result being the restoration of ALL to God?
@deov84 judgment will begin at the house of God. Everyone will be saved in their order. So your answer is no, everyone is not saved at the same time. MOST will not be saved in in this eon. see 1 Tim 2:6 & 1 Cor 15:20-28
@deov84 and just WHO is that spoken to? The sinners? The atheist? IT IS SPOKEN TO THE CHURCH!!! If hell were so true then why didnt Paul speak of of in ALL of his writings? How could he be so negelent? HAVE YOU read your bible. If it werent biblically sound I myself would not believe it.
@deov84 hell is fair? your insane!! Since when is TRILLIONS OF CENTURIES of punishment fair? You cant get more evil than to equate that much punoshment to being fair. Talk about fair. lets do. How FAIR is it to Christ who pay the price for all then in return lost most of it?
@phillip78 Thats love displayed my friend, God loved the world so much that He would kill his own. So its ok for God to torture an succumb his son to the Wrath of Abandonment on that Cross "father father why have you forsaken me" but not fair for him to punish wicked men to reject His son and His death...really?? you contradict yourself...to pigeon hole God as only Love is not Biblical my friend...because He is profoundly so much more
I believe that we all will come face to face with God ...but not in the same way. Some of us will see his mercy because the Lord has graciously saved us, and unfortunately some of us will see his justice. He is going to separate the sheeps from the goats, and the Lord will reply to the goats..."I never knew you"...(Matt 7:23) even though they thought they were worshiping God correctly. John 14:6..noone goes to the father but through Jesus....not buddhists, muslims.
"one does not need the death and resurrection of Christ"? Christian Universalist EMPHASIZE this, so that is false. God is love. Goes God love come to an end when a man dies? If so, then just how is that "unconditional"? "Your saved"? No one is actually saved until the first resurrection.Jn 3:16 "perish" Gk:apollumi, means to destroy fully. Wages of sin is death Ro 6:23 Death is not life in hell. "Not by works" But we must do this or that to be saved? They DO NOT deny Jesus is the only way.
How can God be love, if hell is a real eternal place? God being a God of love means that he is totally sufficient in himself and able to spill over for the Good sinners His love even if they do no good, FOR HIMSELF. That is exactly what He did in sending His son Jesus Christ. God sent His son into the world, to a people in rebellion against Him, to make a way of salvation for ALL (YES THAT IS A UNIVERSAL OR ECUMENICAL, CONNOTATION) who believe (YES THAT IS LIMITED & NARROW BIBLICAL IMPLICATION)
@phillip78 The love of God is seen at the Apex and climax in mainly of the Giving of Himself in His Son Jesus Christ to save those who are totally undeserving. Now for God to be Just in Condemning those who do not believe and receive His love utmost displayed in Christ DOES NOT contradict the fact that He is love…It just means that He is MORE love that is if God were only love meaning ONLY MERCIFUL there would be no hell which contradicts the bible (Luke 16:19-31) literal torment is evident
@deov84 nonsense. Greek meaning for torment does not mean to torture, it means to TEST. look up touchstone. If God can save all,yet does not, it impeaches his goodness. If God cannot save all, it impeaches his power.
@phillip78 because God is ALSO JUST and evidently His being just makes His Love and mercy shine all the brighter so you cannot place the two on the same level…Gods is Love BUT He is not only Love and that’s why there can be hell for those who Reject the promised seed Jesus the Christ for it is in Him and through him in which all things will be reconciled outside of him reconciliation is cut off, because the Justice of God demands it.
This is not "new age church phenomia" The doctrine of hell was created around 400AD by Augustine of Hippo and not earlier. The first comparatively complete systematic statement of Christian doctrine ever given to the world by Clement of Alexandria, A.D. 180, contained the tenet of universal salvation. These undeniable facts.
Christian universalism ultimately teaches that God's law doesn't condemn sinners but actually cleanses them of their sins in the lake of fire. Apparently its Gods law that cleanses us from all unrighteousness and not the blood of Christ.
How tragic, weak, pathetic, powerless and limp was Jesus' sacrifice, for only a few who have a powerful freewill to save themselves will be saved by Christ, while countless billions will go to burn forever in agony who didnt quite have enough freewill or luck to hear the gospel. Sounds like a victory to Satan doesn't it?:).
"O' death you'll sting forever, O' grave you're victorious over Christ".
@UnrealHelix... thanks! I appreciate your comment! Haha, yeah I was temped to spout off names but that would be a whole other video...there's soooo much deception in the church that it's sad. I actually think I might do an expose on a few pastors and their "heresies?" lol. We shall see how that works out.

@ComoEstas15

I feel like weeping right now.
Why on earth would he do something that demonic in heaven?
marlessangela 9 months ago

You are misrepresenting many Universalist..
Christ was ransomed for ALL.
Does these scriptures say this or not?

It's dangerous.
marlessangela 11 months ago

@phillip78
can i just ask you out of curiosity...why the idea of hell bothers you so much.
Throw all your "arguments" aside. This is obviously hitting against something bigger?
marlessangela 1 year ago
@marlessangela "why the idea of hell bothers you so much"
The idea of people being tortured forever doesn't strike a nerve with you? It SHOULD. The thought of human beings suffering forever doesn't say that something is wrong? Just where is your love for the sinner? Let me answer it for you, it doesn't exist.

I have well over 100 scriptures proclaiming the salvation for all. How dare you tell it isnt biblical.
phillip78 1 year ago
@phillip78 I do too this does not mean all will come to be saved if they don't believe and receive the means in which salvation has be brought about and provided by God...Prov 16:4 "The LORD has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster" All can be saved but all will not be simply because all will not embrace Christ as Savior here and now..
deov84 1 year ago
@deov84 all will not embrace Christ. That is a lie. "if I be lifted up I will draw [gk drag] All man to me"
phillip78 1 year ago
One more thought and I'll leave you alone. "don't go to man or a preacher" My question. Do you go to church? I once was a hard core believer in hell also, but GOD challenged me to seek him further. I know you are sincere about what you believe, however you are sincerely wrong.
God be with you.

Proverbs 16:25

@marlessangela Jesus is the Savior of the world John 4:42 You think he failed to do what he was sent to do - to save the world.
Better think of what your teaching. See Mt 21:31
phillip78 1 year ago
@phillip78 So do you believe in the eventual restoration of all people to God? and that all mankind will be reconciled to God through the sacrifice of Christ? Do you believe not all will be saved at the same time? Concerning the judgments of God, hell, God's wrath do you believe that this is not an eternal or everlasting condition and the end result being the restoration of ALL to God?
deov84 1 year ago
@deov84 judgment will begin at the house of God. Everyone will be saved in their order. So your answer is no, everyone is not saved at the same time. MOST will not be saved in in this eon. see 1 Tim 2:6 & 1 Cor 15:20-28
phillip78 1 year ago
@phillip78 but you affirm all will be saved which is unbiblcal Matthew 7:22 do you read your bible?
deov84 1 year ago
@deov84 and just WHO is that spoken to? The sinners? The atheist? IT IS SPOKEN TO THE CHURCH!!! If hell were so true then why didnt Paul speak of of in ALL of his writings? How could he be so negelent? HAVE YOU read your bible. If it werent biblically sound I myself would not believe it.
phillip78 1 year ago
@phillip78 The sin you commit that will send you to hell is fair to send you to hell because of who it is committed against.
deov84 1 year ago
@deov84 hell is fair? your insane!! Since when is TRILLIONS OF CENTURIES of punishment fair? You cant get more evil than to equate that much punoshment to being fair. Talk about fair. lets do. How FAIR is it to Christ who pay the price for all then in return lost most of it?
phillip78 1 year ago
@phillip78 Thats love displayed my friend, God loved the world so much that He would kill his own. So its ok for God to torture an succumb his son to the Wrath of Abandonment on that Cross "father father why have you forsaken me" but not fair for him to punish wicked men to reject His son and His death...really?? you contradict yourself...to pigeon hole God as only Love is not Biblical my friend...because He is profoundly so much more
deov84 1 year ago
@phillip78
John 14:6..noone goes to the father but through Jesus....not buddhists, muslims.
marlessangela 1 year ago
"one does not need the death and resurrection of Christ"? Christian Universalist EMPHASIZE this, so that is false. God is love. Goes God love come to an end when a man dies? If so, then just how is that "unconditional"? "Your saved"? No one is actually saved until the first resurrection.Jn 3:16 "perish" Gk:apollumi, means to destroy fully. Wages of sin is death Ro 6:23 Death is not life in hell. "Not by works" But we must do this or that to be saved? They DO NOT deny Jesus is the only way.
phillip78 1 year ago
How can God be love, if hell is a real eternal place? God being a God of love means that he is totally sufficient in himself and able to spill over for the Good sinners His love even if they do no good, FOR HIMSELF. That is exactly what He did in sending His son Jesus Christ. God sent His son into the world, to a people in rebellion against Him, to make a way of salvation for ALL (YES THAT IS A UNIVERSAL OR ECUMENICAL, CONNOTATION) who believe (YES THAT IS LIMITED & NARROW BIBLICAL IMPLICATION)
deov84 1 year ago
@phillip78 The love of God is seen at the Apex and climax in mainly of the Giving of Himself in His Son Jesus Christ to save those who are totally undeserving. Now for God to be Just in Condemning those who do not believe and receive His love utmost displayed in Christ DOES NOT contradict the fact that He is love…It just means that He is MORE love that is if God were only love meaning ONLY MERCIFUL there would be no hell which contradicts the bible (Luke 16:19-31) literal torment is evident
deov84 1 year ago
@deov84 nonsense. Greek meaning for torment does not mean to torture, it means to TEST. look up touchstone. If God can save all,yet does not, it impeaches his goodness. If God cannot save all, it impeaches his power.
phillip78 1 year ago
@phillip78 because God is ALSO JUST and evidently His being just makes His Love and mercy shine all the brighter so you cannot place the two on the same level…Gods is Love BUT He is not only Love and that’s why there can be hell for those who Reject the promised seed Jesus the Christ for it is in Him and through him in which all things will be reconciled outside of him reconciliation is cut off, because the Justice of God demands it.
deov84 1 year ago
This is not "new age church phenomia" The doctrine of hell was created around 400AD by Augustine of Hippo and not earlier. The first comparatively complete systematic statement of Christian doctrine ever given to the world by Clement of Alexandria, A.D. 180, contained the tenet of universal salvation. These undeniable facts.
phillip78 1 year ago
this is so legit. thank you for sharing and proclaiming truth! :D
annasue07 1 year ago
Christian universalism ultimately teaches that God's law doesn't condemn sinners but actually cleanses them of their sins in the lake of fire. Apparently its Gods law that cleanses us from all unrighteousness and not the blood of Christ.
potooth 1 year ago
How tragic, weak, pathetic, powerless and limp was Jesus' sacrifice, for only a few who have a powerful freewill to save themselves will be saved by Christ, while countless billions will go to burn forever in agony who didnt quite have enough freewill or luck to hear the gospel. Sounds like a victory to Satan doesn't it?:).
"O' death you'll sting forever, O' grave you're victorious over Christ".
