  • First Black or African-American quarterback drafted in the first round by the NFL. Eldridge Dickey, was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 1968 above Kenny Stabler. During the 1969 pre-season his performance proved Black quarterbacks were truly worthy of being drafted in the first round by the NFL.
