  • This will work for the Iphone 3GS - right? And everything you need comes with it?

  • Thx but a little creepy when you were just staring at the camera! :(

  • Very easy to go with iPhone 4, watch out for NTCS, but you have to connect av cable first

  • But it won't play music. Why. I play video. When I play iPod it won't play. Help

  • Absolutely powerful iphone4, now I present to you, for ! aswwIf accuc.info

  • Yay I have a dynex!

Crap. I can't even use it when it's hooked up to the dynex.

Is there any way to do this wirelessly?

  • Dude he's staring into my soul

  • Is there a way to recored?

  • if you go on ebay they got some people in hong kong selling AV cables for ipods that are less than 10 bucks.

  • he looks like a pedo

  • Why can't they just make it where you use the charger on iPod touch to connect it instead of buying a $50 cord on top of $200 + on the iPod to start with?

  • Ahahahahahaha what's up with the death stare at 2:40-2:51????!! Aha haha u look hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing.

  • Dude r u serious? Cannot hear a thing, turn the horrible music off

  • Can you capture video from your tv to your I phone?

  • were can you buy that second cord you showed us and whats it called

  • Wen ido mines it jus show blue video screen?

  • @HorrorMusicSorcerer I was reading the comments to see if someone thought the same!

  • Apple is such a rip off. Why do people buy their products anymore after Android is on the market.

  • how bout usin a usb

  • What's the name of the cable ?

  • @2010Bieber It's a Dynex cable, it will work only with the original iPhone and iPod Touch. A lot of changes in how iPhone & iPad's are pinned in the past two years, e.g. iPad and iPhone 4 can do HDMI out and basically act like Apple TV2 serving off a wireless computer with iTunes.

  • what's name of the cable ?

  • @Diegodubal It is a Dynex cable, and will work only with iPhone 2G and 1st Gen iPod Touch, and original iPod video. Since this video was made there are better options for iPhone 3G through 4Gs particularly Apple's 30 pin to HDMI connector.

  • @Diegodubal It is a Dynex cable, but you need to keep in mind when the video was made it was for an iPhone 2.

  • @Diegodubal iphone AV cable

  • @Diegodubal My iphone g3 doe's not have the ipod logo so how do i get it ,nice desciption.

  • That's a 3GS right?

  • @plannine10 No the video was made using a 2G. There are better options like Apple's own 30 pin to HDMI connector, they're about $25 at stores which carry Apple products.

  • @ 2:40 you look like a serial killer

  • Can I just play music?

  • hey i just wanna watch movies on a bigger screen

  • you can only watch videos with this, for those who are expecting to see the whole iPhone screen on their tv, this youtube video is not for you guys

  • @turkbros That's correct, only media loaded on your iPhone will play on the TV - not your iPhone's screen. You can jailbreak your iPhone and there are several apps on Cydia which will show your iPhone's screen on a full size TV. I found the image quality poor when viewed on a 47" Sony Bravia LCD, but if you just want to see a pixelated image of your iPhones home screen its possible.

  • The cords are only 4 bucks on amazon

  • i can only get audio???

  • I have a 3rd gen touch, and I read that those only work for 1/2 gen touches

  • Can u play games to?

  • the look he gives when the video started is hilarious.

  • Thx nice video but I don't need this cable cause I mostly will watch the video on tv thru my ps3 instead, but good vid thx

  • wat if tv has usb port?

  • last comment  it will work just plug them in with matching colors

  • Would rhis work on a fat tv even if it has the red white and blue outlets plz reply some1

  • oh your so cool

  • Alright... now where do I find that cord and how many hundreds of dollars do I have to waste on it?

  • BAD FACE @0:44

  • SWEATTT

  • U Look Retarted HAHAH

  • How much does the dock cost? I heard u say the cables were $40, but I dont want to spend the money and the dock looks cooler.

  • Great thank you but you look wierd :D

  • Get,"~Your.'.IPOD'~.Here"'"

    Copy~~'And",.Paste".'

  • OMG! Any android device will just work with a jack and 3 way tv plug / HD out plug!

  • do you need the stand to put the ipod in or can you just use the wires?

  • So you can watch videos with it too? Like if i go to youtube app and watch videos there?? Please answer thanks.

  • is there another way of connecting it, because i cant afford that and it'll be a waste of money. My t.v is LG.

  • I have a question, What if you want to watch a video on youtube threw an ipod touch. Will the device you show play the video on the tv or what?

  • do u need wifi to turn on screen splitter?

  • is there any other way?

  • when i follow these steps all i get is audio i have tried screensplitr and get the same results

  • @mandjajuan i cant help, but does the actual ipod/iphone say its not supported by ipod/iphone"? everyone elses is working, but mine only has audio and no video.

  • @mandjajuan me too

  • Man I got a iPod and the cable won't work any tips

  • I'll try it thanks

  • And god said let there be light!...so he flick the switch.....hehehehehe

  • cant i do this with an USB-cable?

  • u look like a pedifile

  • SMUGGY !

  • look how smug he is when the video appears on the tv! Priceless!

  • @andybhoy83 I thought the same thing....lol

  • @andybhoy83 HAHAHA .... gotta edit and share this LOL

  • @andybhoy83 ano yeah that facial expression as if to say im the genius but whats funny is that he doesnt take his eyes of the screen.

  • there is no iPod in my settings

  • Why where you staring at the camera like that you fucking wirdo.

  • Pretty creeppy how u looked at the camera! But nice video!

  • Awkward stare 2:40.

  • there isn't an hdmi adapter?

  • For web pages, use this app:

    Web Presentation.

You need the Apple VGA Adapter, an iPhone 4, an iPad or an iPod Touch 4th Gen.

You do not need to jailbreak.

  • bgyguguyghdfdhlk;kkljikjkjkjkjkjk co za azy

  • Douchebag

  • How much do the cables cost

  • Its creepy how you stared when showing te video on the tv, u looked retarded

  • Ummm that's a small tv butt cool

  • i liked the video and it was very helpful.

  • Also does this work with regular firm wares? I have 4.2 I think. Will this still work

  • PLEASE REPLY IVE BEEN LOOKINGFOREVER ON HOW TO DO IT WITHOUT AV CABLE AND SIMPLY THE AV CABLE. I HAVE A TV WITH A USB PORT AND I KNOW THERE IS A TV OUT BUT I WANT IT TO PLAY WITHOUT AV CABLE PLEASE HELP

  • Ok so how would you be able to play a game and have it on TV? that dynex device your using looks like it would get in the way of holding the phone for game play. There has got to be another way bro!? do you know?

  • @NolaVascular504 You can not natively play a game on your iPhone with the game showing up on a TV. You would need to jailbreak your iPhone/iPod/iPad and then use ScreenSplitr from Cydia to be able to see your iPhone/iPod/iPad screen on a TV or computer monitor.

  • @iPhoneLifevideoblog

Does the dynex work with all firm wares?

  • @iPhoneLifevideoblog okay with jailbreak, what do you know need to buy and download and do???

  • @iPhoneLifevideoblog can you still not play games or use any other apps with your iphone4s? or have they come out with an update that fixed that problem?

  • would this allow you to show the different apps that are open? My pastor was hoping to find a way to show an App with scripture through a projector...which from what I read is a similar hook-up.

  • @glittersmcgee Not at this time without jailbreaking your iOS device. You can certainly do PowerPoint presentations of the scriptures (or anything) which might help, sorry.

  • @glittersmcgee alright, thank you.

  • Don't know if this has been asked yet, I realize that the answer to watching youtube videos on the big screen from your iPhone is no. Therefore, I'm also assuming that the answer to my question is also no but I'll ask it anyway. Is it possible to watch Netflix using the iPhone App on your TV through this method?

  • @Edy2018 Sorry not that I know of without jailbreaking, though it may be possible in time with Airplay and Apple TV 2G. I keep hearing rumors that it is coming, but not yet.

  • @iPhoneLifevideoblog what im confused? I watched a video that said you can use the av cable pluged into the tv and your ipod and netflix movies will display on your ipod touch

  • @Edy2018 im able to watch netflix through my TV using Itouch 4 gen and 16$ e bay tv out cables.

Looks pretty good too. i use this in my basement to watch movies while i work out to make the time go by faster. My itouch is not hacked. just downloaded the netflix app, then got the cables and hooked the up to the TV rca jacks. switched the TV to the AV output and , bingo.

  • mine wont work

  • @sammieseagull If you describe what you're doing, settings on your iOS device and TV maybe we can figure it out.

  • Dig the track too.

  • Word. I knew how but never actually tried it. Thanks for the tangibility.

  • ANDY SAMBURG FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you need the dock to do that

  • @theogmexican No you do not need a dock, I happened to get it on the cheap, actually I've cut the sides out of now so that I can dock my iPad too, but I need to weight the bottom since the iPad will flip this base over.

  • weird guy.

  • @Fingabang69 Weird maybe, paying HD videos off my iPad on my TV, YES!

  • @b1rdman3313 funny as fu*k

  • @iPhoneLifevideoblog do i need a composite cable.. i have a component cable but it doesn't really work :/

  • @TheCrazyMcnugget either cable will work as long as one end has the Apple 30 pin connector and it is pinned for the iOS device you have e.g. iPhone, iPad, etc. Yup most companies pin their connectors specific to the particular iOS device, so an iPod Video isn't pinned for an iPhone 3Gs - this is how they make money. The goal of my video was to show some alternatives to Apples overpriced universal cable, though that is always an option.

  • where can i get that ...dynex thing at?

and does it work with a ipod touch?

  • @lizaverysweet1 Virtually any big box electronics store carries Dynex Best Buy, WalMart, etc.

  • Wow I dont know why but you look alot and remind me of my CO.

  • can you use that for iphone4

  • @fking0589 Not really, the iPhone 4 is pinned differently than the iPhone 2G I used in the video. You can either buy a cable direct from Apple or do a little research for cheaper cables pinned for iPhone 4G.

  • Can you stream from Netflix app to TV?

  • @bbbd01 You can certainly jailbreak your iPhone and get apps from Cydia which stream.

  • Hello : I tried to connect my ipod touch 4 twice, with two cables just like the one used on the video. On my screen,it says that the ipod doesn't recognise the device (cable)And I can only have the audio on the tv. Picture is missing...Can you help me.

    Thanks

  • @groscatoo Sorry to hear of that, but this is one of the limitations with using cables that are not "universal" like Apples. It's very confusing when Apple changes the pinning on their devices e.g. an iPhone 2G like in the video is pinned differently than your iPod Touch 4th Gen, that's the problem, you can always purchase a cable from Apple, or do some research online for cables pinned for iPod Touch 4th Gen. All it not lost, its just the cable.

  • I had a Itouch but upgraded to an Iphone 4. I bought the Iphone 4 dock and i already have the TV connectors from Apple. Everytime i try to view my movies it always says no signal. My settings are the same as yours. IDK what i need to do. I only hear sound

  • @gram1615 Hmmm, both the dock and cable are Apple? I know that iPhone 4 is pinned differently than all the other iOS devices so there's a lot of people having this issue, usually Apple pins their cables universally. Can you test your set up with another iPhone maybe a 3G or 2G if they work its how it's pinned if they don't work your cable is probably going bad somehow.

  • would this work on playing games too?

  • @kahyceeh No, not without jailbreaking your iPhone. But jailbreaking is not too hard, and it has been ruled on as legal now, so you could give that a try.

  • would this work on the netflix app ?

  • Would this work in australia?

  • @dragoncwalker It would but you'd have to do it all in reverse... Sorry for the joke, couldn't resist. Yes you can hook your iPhone up to a TV in Australia but I believe down under you use PAL (versus NTSC) so in your iPhone settings you'll need to go into the TV settings and make sure you have PAL selected. Great question though.

  • You are obviously an electronics genius!

  • i have a tv that already has a composite cable and an ipod dock. The dock is connected to the dvd. will it work and what settings do I need to have?

  • So I am assuming that for older Ipod models, the earphone jack worked to play video, but for the Ipod touch models, you must get the dock or get the component cable that plugs directly into the charging spot on the Ipod touch instead of the earphone jack spot? Is this true? Thanks.

  • @bsintzu Awesome question, yes some of the earlier iPods did have video out through the jack. Sadly I've forgotten which iPod, but I think the ones after clickwheel. Since the iPod with Video you can only get video out through the 30 pin connector.

  • Can you also play games on the TV with the cables?

  • It's not working for my iPhone 4 iOS 4.1 and I have the composite cables. Any tips or advice

  • can you play apps oon the tv screen

  • Does that work with playing apps or just video?

  • What's the piano music in the background? What's the name of it?

  • @MNRedRyder The SNL piece or my instructional video, credits are at the end.

  • @ThePHENOM987 He's telling the hostages not to dare run with that look.

  • i have a coard that does the same thing as your little box, but i want ot play youtube vids through my ipod touch and then have them come up onto my tv. the sound is there but not tthe images. im just trying to find the settings for it ?

  • @nomona84 Awesome question, but you can not do this with stock iPhone, etc. You would need to jailbreak your device and then find an app from Cydia.

  • 2:40 - 2:51 almost made me shit my pants

  • I have a jailbreaked iPod touch 2g. Will this work with mitube

  • ok guys i figured i could do this but will this allow me to surf the web and view web pages ect on the tv lcd ect ??? i dont have an iphone but a friend asked me this so im reasearching for them

  • @vinngrizzle Common question, unfortunately no, not without jailbreaking your iOS device. After you do that, I believe there are several apps available through Cydia you could buy and see your devices screen with.

  • @Savly92 Apple. You can also find a compatible cable at an electronics store like Best Buy, etc too.

  • Is there any way to stream Internet content to iPod then to t.v?

  • @imabeliever3 You can jailbreak your iPod, there are some apps which allow you to view what is on your iPhone/iPod's screen on TV. I tend not to jailbreak other than as a way to unlock my iPhone.

  • @iPhoneLifevideoblog Actually you shouldnt need to jail break it, for example, the Youtube and Netflix app let you stream to your TV via iphone

  • @iPhoneLifevideoblog so I take it you can't stream Netflix movies either?

  • @LordOfNothingham Logical question, that is correct, though you can certainly jailbreak your iOS device and there are several apps from Cydia you can stream with.

  • Help please! I have an ipod touch 3rd generation, and i am having difficulties connecting it to a TV. I got the universal dock with a composite av cable but it is still not working. I wonder if i have to get the component av cable necessarily. I think the problem is one of these two: either the composite cable has a flaw or it does not fit with the ipod touch 3rd generation. what do you think?

  • I noticed that the iPod still shows the video (and I'm assuming the sound) while it's playing on the TV. Can you shut off the iPod screen and sound while connected so it's only playing on the TV?

  • @bromfrog Good eye. No, actually only the video shows the video seems to be only piped to the TV, I've notice that Apple keeps the two channels (video audio) split versus combining them - I assume that that's how they tweak out HD, but that's just my assumption. You can for example get video through the earphone jack on older iPods (that's not general knowledge) with a four ring (TRRS) mini jack to component, the old iBooks used to come with these cables but for their video out.

  • i mean can i connect composite cable to laptop or is there any cable which i can use to attach it to laptop? thanks

  • @gary121 My video was about hooking an iPhone up to a TV, so I'm not certain about all the different laptops out there. In general, do you mean can you hook a laptop up to a TV? Yes. Most laptops made over the past decade have a connector for an external monitor e.g.; VGA, mini DVI, more recently HDMI.

  • @gamefreakdrew That's good to know, I don't have an Xbox and haven't yet tried connecting my PS3 to my iPhone.

  • is there a way i can play skymobile on laptop?

  • @gary121 I have no idea, my video is about playing back video saved on your iPhone to a TV. You should check with SkyTV.

  • Thanks ur video wad wayyy more informative than many. Most of them r just ppl showing it can work but now how to actually do it!!!! Does this work on 4.0 firmware (2nd gen iPod touch)??? Seems it only works on certain firmware and also if it is capable on this firmware where can I find the dock and cables? How much r they?? Pls help me :/

  • @vanessamsly Good questions. As far as I know I can play back video saved on my iPhones (2G running 3.1 and 3G running 4.0) and iPad (running 3.2) to my TV. You can certainly shop around the internet, or local electronics stores for a cable (just beware if the cable says it's for an iPod classic and you try to hook your iPhone up it might not work, the cables are often pinned very specifically for the device) or just buy the cable from Apple.

  • can i watch youtube videos as well on tv using my iphone? please reply thanks :D

  • @dutchangel14 You can probably jailbreak your iPhone and find an app on Cydia that would let you do that, but I don't know for certain. Otherwise no, you'd only get the audio signal.

  • hi my name is omar.. and my ? is can i play my ipod touch games on my tv??? or only videos..???? like it shows one others ppl on youtube>????

  • @MrOmar714 Omar, you could jail break your iPod and do that, but you can not on an unjailbroken iPhone/iPad/iPod just use your TV as a large screen. You can play back movies saved on your iPod to a TV.

  • I'm definately getting the apple composite cable now, its so easy!!! i can use my ipad as a portable netflix station!!! :))) thanx man!

  • @Kidzrule743 You can not stream anything other than movies which are saved onto your iPhone, iPad, iPod to a TV. It will not "stream" content off the internet from your iphone to your TV, though you would likely be able to stream audio.

  • The back of my tv has all the inputs for a component and it also has the 3 inputs in the front for composite. Would I see different results depending on which cord I bought? My tv is just a 32 inch toshiba.. No hd or anything. Thanks in advance.

  • @LateNita you would see some difference between composite or component, component being the better, but I doubt in these days of HD it would really look that different. Both would look more like 'old' tube TV.

  • If I want to connect an Ipod touch + Universal Dock + TV + Speaker / Sound Dock , is that possible to do so ? And in this case is it slower than connecting by computer ?

  • @pilunnful

What about the quality of VDO ? (for example watching youtube on tv screen )
