ohhh G strong i just can't seem to get away from you on youtube my brotha. one way or another i find myself listening to something that you've posted. Cheers
THE ORIGINAL FUNK MASTER, James Brown use to drop joints every month, THE GODFATHER PUT IT DOWN !!!!! 42 yrs ago, His beats started it all,!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIP GODFATHER
@markredmond1000 Not only that, but his music is basically the foundation for the Golden Age of Hip-Hop (1986-1992). The genre really started to take off and flourish when cats started to sample James Brown. Some of the greatest classics in rap history are James Brown samples.
When you think about how this is a warm up to Bobby Byrd's I know you got soul,It blows me away.God bless James and all of his bands,The James Brown Orchestra on to the JB's.
Rhythm guitar stupid funky and the reason his track was sampled so much listen to the drummer sounds like a drum machine in the pocket and consistent thats makes for a great sample
I would be @ work at IBM with my headphones on listening to THIS! At times the groove would move me so hard I would forget I was @ work! This man was funkier than an old pot of collard greens!
James Brown recorded songs on stage, during shows, after shows, etc. He used his road band, studio bands, prerecorded
music solicited to record companies he woked for, etc. This song was morphed into "Make It Funky." "Doing It To Death" began as the music for a James Brown Show commercial break, with Maceo as the MC around 1967-1968. "Sex Machine" began as an alternate riff for "Give it up or Turn it a Loose." ETC.
This tune was literally thrown together in the studio, and I have a theory that James was going to call it "The Funky Train" before changing his mind later. You hear him talk about it being the Funky Train at the start of the full version.
When my friends and I first heard this record when it first came out, we just started laughing. The only mention of "escapism" came in, like the first few seconds. And we didn't anything about it again. Then the groove took over and we stopped caring about anything else.
é sempre bom, marávilhoso curtir esse som.

I say; Listen again and again and also to every instrument in this number and if you've got the feeling, you're lost for the rest of your live!

@Parrock1 -"The James Brown Soul Train" was band name on the single "Honky Tonk" by James Brown.

@Buckeyecat2002 that may be so, but respectfully, it's not related to my comment.
