OMG so what is true? Did man evolve into homo sapien first then move out of east africa or was he still an Australopithecus? I just want to be correct when im speaking to people about this....What is the truth.
@meshyis Homo Sapiens as a species evolved in Africa then moved out as well as in around 70 000 yrs ago. However, the genus Homo (which Homo Sapiens belong to) is a much older genus and had itself split into different species, some went out of Africa and indeed evolved into Neanderthal man, Peking man and Floreas "hobbit" independantly and much before sapiens came out of Africa. This find is not our ancestor, rather our extinct cousin from a different species. Hope it helps.
