  • @jeroen0011 appreciate it man!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @lupis0079 haha devin you crack me up, lets jam this week!!!!!!

  • @soloistchris666 we should record too, biatch. i got's good music for you as well, it's called, ''how to suck at the guitar,'' starring yours truely.

  • @lupis0079 lol you dont suck at guitar.

  • @soloistchris666 lol eh, we co-exist pretty good. u write kick ass solos and i write some decent rhythms under em. time to show the world

  • @lupis0079 yes sir

  • alright im just trying to sweep on a 7 string

  • @JPShreddinq nice. i love playing 7 string guitars, and 8 string guitars.

  • how much did it take you to learn that???

  • @JPShreddinq about 1 month of constant practice each day!

  • Hahaha damn Asians. 10 yr old backwards upside down, with his head on fire. xD

  • @thedustofakyle lol

  • What type of effect did you use (im a beginner)

  • well i seem to be getting alittle better at the sweeping, but there's this annoying string noise that i can't seem to get rid of. how do i get rid of it so that it sounds clean?

  • i love ur tone

  • nice Jimi poster :)

  • hmm lets say if ur just bearly learning how to sweep pick and u practice it every day, how long would u say until u get like really really good?

  • 3 months. I could barely sweep pick then I started practicing it everyday for 2 hours and within about 1-2 months ive noticed a great increase in speed and articulation. In 3 months I was flying through them. Just keep practicing man, you will get it

  • What were those sweeps you did right in the beggining? Those were insane!!!

  • They were just major arpeggios. Just a simple 3 string sweep. I believed they were just major triads. Then I did the 5 string major sweeps. I believed I mention the first one in D-Maj

  • @residentZA that 1st bit sounded alot like bleeding mascara by atreyu

  • oh thats kool dude! ima practice it everyday for about 1 hour haha.

  • @soloistchris666 Did you use a metronome?

  • @GuitarCrazyManiac no I didnt use a metronome. I should of because I usually practice with one, its a good habit. But no I didnt use it during the video.

  • lol 5 finger sweeps :D

  • lol i mean 5 string sweeps. I didnt think anyone would notice lol. Good call my friend

  • haha yeah its all good man, have you tried using all 4 fingers? cause i found i did it the same way you did with 3 fingers and later on, when i got better i changed to 4 fingers because 3 fingers was restricting on some shapes

  • ya I can use all 4 fingers now. I like using my pinky alot Ive found out over time. But i agree 3 fingers do restrict certain arpeggio shapes.

  • Cool video! thanks! Great sound as well! :)

  • i love your delay! WOOT WOOT FOR LINE 6!

  • "with his head on fire" lol

  • the amp? line 6, isnt it? :D

  • thats nice ass delay lol

  • I can do down strokes easily, jsut upstrokes I cant do without all that extra noise.

  • hahaha gotta love those asians!

  • does sweep picking improve ya normal soloin like picking and that aswell?

  • I've been trying to sweep pick for over a week now, and I have noticed that I have significantly gotten better in my alternate picking and my fingers are able to move faster too. So I guess the answer to that would be yes. However, everybody is different and what may wokr for me may not for you.

  • Yes, it does, and a lot.

  • It improved sweep picking, different techniques

  • @SRodgers145 Not really, unless you have a weak right hand or left fingers, it'll only help your playing as a whole. Not necessarily a noticeable boost in your soloing. But as you progress with sweeping, you'll be progressing as a guitarist. So it really all depends on where you are at and how you look at it.

  • Hmn I love Minor arpeggios I don't know why, it's just darker I guess. :P Nice guitar btw.

  • have any delay?

  • what gave you that impression..he..he

  • Someone (flargrbargr) has never even seen a jackson XD

  • whats with the lefty neck? its a righty body

  • its not a lefty neck thats just how the head stock is designed

  • uv never seen a reverse headstock before have u thats how it is suposed to be the guitar is built like that

  • but it was awesome anyway so yeah xD

  • get a metronome

  • damn dude ur delay was CRANKED!

  • dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood

    thx so much man

    u helped so muchh

lik i watched this lik 5 min ago and alreadi mi speed is way up

    thank you!

  • i was jw: i know how to sweep pick but i still dont know how to do it. like ill either just make a bunch of noise when i do it because i accidentally pull off, or i just dont do it right(i cant explain it, it just doesnt sound good) :( can anyone help me?

  • you have to start off really slow, and work on it for a looooong time building up speed but keeping it clean. You have to be able to keep it clean and in sync. He already kind of explained it in the vid

  • actually as im "sweeping" when my finger comes off the fret it makes the sound of an open string when my finger comes off the string

  • try to do it slow and clean, if u hear any noises besides the notes ur sweeping u gotta start off again. i have the same problem, hopefully ill build up my speed.

  • im getting better too i can sweep alot more accurate :P i gots my own strategy

if you want me to tel you the tab r something

    let me kknow

  • plzz telll mee im dyin to learn to seep pick

  • Practise alot, you cant think youll get it straight away, because it gets you in a sort of giveing up mind set. Just Practice the C shape and you'll get it, im intermediate now ive passed the big step, i hope you can too ;P

  • how do u do that first sweep

  • Hey, sweet vid, reckon u culd learn the solo for Wintersun - Winter madness and post a vid of it? hope so, would be awesome to see.

  • roughly, how long does it take to reach your speed?

    (asian kid comment was hilariious)

  • I'd say about 4 months. I did about 1 month, 8 hours a day for practice. then 4 hours a day for the remaining 3 months. Some people pick it up quick, some don't. I started running before walking but its just how I learned it!!! Keep practicing man. If u have any question about Arpeggios let me know!!!! Best of Luck!

  • thanks dude, will do

  • I have no idea what are arpeggios.

    Can you explain?

  • broken chord

its a chord but played in separet notes

  • do u palm mute the notes u already played to prevent noise?

i can sweep but i juz need to make it clean cuz wen i do it all i hear is open notes after i play them

    can u help? thx

  • EXACTLY my problem...i need help on that too ...

  • i have been practicing it for weeks and i still cant get it it pisses me off

  • well...everyone that can sweep pick says that they did not see any improvement for many weeks.....but once u get it down....the time u spent learning will be worth it..

  • Well it took me 1 month to fully get it down and fast while having good articulation. I sat in my room everyday for 8 hours and practiced it. Some pick it up quicker than others. Just keep practicin, you will get it!!!!

  • im more intermediate at guitar but i knida still dont know the main things so, what are some good excercises and other things that a beginner should know?

  • hey man thanks for the upload, i know i'll need it ^0^, hey just curious, i don't know any scales (i'm a newbie at guitar) but i'm alright at playing, if i DO master sweep picking, will it be easier to solo?? lol, just wondering, anyways thanks for the upload

  • Well it sounds really cool when you add the right sweeps in the right key. Ill show you on a vid when its up

  • alright sweet :D

  • sweep picking is also good to learn classical scales(idk if theres an official name for this or if its just classical scales), blues scale, pentatonics, and daitonic. just a tip :)

  • you are fucking rapid with sweeps, man I wish I could do them that quick haha

  • thanks man. I appreciate it!!! just keep practicing my friend!!!

  • How much time did it take to learn sweep picking ?

  • 2:19 reminds me of Rusty Cooley lol, good How To man, helped me alot

  • I appreciate the comment. Glad i can help you out!!!

  • backwards with his head on fire lol

  • Just curious, what is the point of that effect that echos and repeats?

  • Theyre cool, and fun to add on! :P Lol

  • 20 now.

  • how old r u?

  • what amp do you have?

  • Peavey Windsor with custom installments and im using a Pod XT Live Unit

  • yo when u sweep do you mute the strings and if u do how!

  • wtf is your head upside down? nice vid though, hlepful (Y) =]

  • No its not upside down lol. But I custom built the front end with plexi glass. Its cook at shows because u can see a blue and orange glow from the tubes.

  • Your better than me at sweeping and you don't even use your pinky lol.

  • haha u seem kool i like the part about the asian kid that was funny but yer man that was a good lesson but even slow i still cant do it for shit!

  • What pickups are you using?they sound great. i bought some emgs after hearing all the talk about them and..they are just as plain as my stock pickups =[

  • They Are EMG - HZ pickups. They Are passive. They have great tonal range and harmonics. Plus you dont have to use a battery unlike the Actives although I like the actives more. But these work great for me!!!

  • well they sure do sound great in your vid. i got an emg 81 and emg 60 and i wasnt really seeking fat sound, i just use my amp for that. what i wanted was the highest gain EVER haha, so I am already looking for another set of pickups. My friend that i play guitar with said seymor duncans were awesome but ive heard online that dimarzios are good. got any suggestions for heavy metal pickups that have tons and tons of gain good for harmonics and stuff??

  • dude the shape with the alternate picking at 2:50

tabs please :) that sounds sweet! Jackson DXMG? i got mine in gun metal grey : )

  • whats up with the echos

  • kayyy

  • Dude, i need to learn "bleeding mascara" by atreyu for my school talent show, i am in a bet, but the beginning is sweeping, and im still having troubles, can you learn it and make a tutorial to play it?

  • sure let me look at the tabs and ill put a video up!!!

  • Thanks Dude, That would be great! Il Subscribe!

  • I will have the video up for u tomorrow. I just learned it just now lol in 10 min. Idk i pick stuff up. ill show u how to do it!!!! video again will be up tomorrow. ill send u link!!!

  • Your Awesome xD

  • Hey the video is up on how to do the sweeping intro for bleeding mascara

  • your great man.

im still kind of having trouble getting speed and timing. im really starting out with some 3finger 3 string notes. any more tips?

  • Just start slow with the three strings sweeps. Its going to take about a month of everyday practice to start to notice improvement. I picked it up quick but you never know you might be doing fats 5 strings sweeps in 2 months. Just get used to the fingering positions of the sweeps and keep going at it. Best of luck my friend!

  • alright thanks man.

  • nice delay pedal lol

  • how it costs this guitar, man?

it is preety nice and you play very well. you play about 2 years?

  • That jackson im playing there cost about $550.00. I love that guitar. But ya im self taught and im going on my 3rd year of playing!

  • Ya I am getting the Ibanez S prestige guitar very soon. Possibly the new EGEN18 Herman li signature guitar. The xiphos is pretty sick to! Appreciate the input!!!

  • you should get an ibanez. they are amazing. and the xiphos looks awesome.

  • great but why do u have the reverb effect on??

  • DELAY!

  • is that a laguna?

  • No its not a leguna. Its a Black Jackson DXMGX with HZ passive EMG pickups. Ive never tried a laguna though they seem to have great quality.

  • no JACKSON!

  • this is the most helpful sweep picking video i have seen yet (for me).. good job

  • nice dude :) but remove the echo!

  • Ya I am self taught! I practice a lot though haha! Appreciate the comment!

  • holy crap. lol. are you self taught?

  • Holy shit.

  • Great video guy! You have very quick fingers.
