  • Whoa, this sure is lampy!

    5 stars!!

  • so Winnie the pooh and Caw from the jungle book were the same voice!?!?!?!

  • "Grandpapa is an old bassoon..." Yep,that's my part.

That's the only band instrument I have never played-the bassoon.

  • "like" if you immediately imagined Donald when you saw the duck at 1:15

  • Even when I was 4 years old watching this I knew that was winnie the pooh narrating this >.<

  • The wolf in this would scare the shit out of me when i was a little kid.

  • "And there is also... a wolf." NO~

  • Turn on Transcribe audio 3:09 lol

  • Aand the snake from Robin Hood :)

  • narrated by the snake out of the jungle book.

  • SASHA! WHO TOUCH SASHA?!

  • the music for the wolf is the same used for the bully in a christmas story. Great music.

  • Winnie the Pooh and Khan from The Jungle Book :) xx

  • I loved this because it was basically my childhood. but it was the scariest movie ever

  • Narrated by Winnie the Pooh.

  • @AJTbayBE like we don't all see the top comment is exactly what you just wrote. >_>

  • @19lionkingfan ahh, but he had a capital "N"

  • @ChevronTango Good punctuation makes all the difference :D

  • @ChevronTango ..... wow...

  • this one sucks

  • this use to scare the crap out of me as a kid........

  • @goldenretluver93 yeah. i remember watching it in music class or something when i was in like 3rd grade

  • the grandfather looks like the creepy guy from pinnocchio

  • narrated by Winnie the Pooh, the Cheshire Cat, and Kaa the Python.

  • the moral of this story is that you never let your duck do acid with your Russian friend Pioter or else you'll get fondled by a cat.

  • isn't that kaa from the jungle book

  • i love you!!! and that narrator's voice reminds me of my childhood, crazy how something like that can bring you back 15 yrs

  • Pretty odd, Disney depicted a Russian story when the US was in the grip of the Red Scar.

  • @jvdarules 1946 ... no red scare. We were allies who had just defeated Germany. The red scare didn't ramp up again 'till 47

  • Man, that duck is high as fuck

  • pause at 7:00

  • It reminds me my childhood. I watched it a lot, without the beginning and in a bad translation, but what was this cartoon in that time!

  • Is the cat called ivor? or ivin?

  • @adamlyall09 I beleive it's ivan but i'm not sure

  • thank you for posting such a wonderful old classic ^^

  • From 2:22 to about 2:48 , did anyone else notice they used that piece in "A Christmas Story"?

  • @Rankpenguin yep. It was used in the bully scene. The cat's theme is also used in Ren and Stimpy for Wilbur Cobb

  • @Rankpenguin

I would say that but visa verca...this is from 1936

  • I used to have a record of this with The Sorcerer's Apprentice....Loved it.

  • I love Peta and the wolf! One of my favs! :D Go Sonia~!

  • @glacierfrost828 Peter, not Peta. :)

  • Sonia the duck has definitely been smokin something..

  • I love the narrator

  • Yay(:

  • Sasha (the bird) looks grounds keeper willy from The Simpsons.

  • I've had the theme song from this stuck in my head since I was a kid in the 70's.

  • Thank you Disney for giving me an immortal fear of wolves for 10 frickin years lol

  • @comprimiser

If the fear was immortal, it would still be with you.

Also wolves are unusual things for immortals to fear.

(I believe you meant mortal-- a mortal fear is a fear of death by the subject)

  • @Melphast whatever, i'm sure a lot of people knew what i meant, even if i didn't phrase it right lol

  • Wow, this brings me back...

  • narrated by Winnie the pooh

  • @TheSasqua7ch Was it really? And ya i get not winniw the pooh the bear but i mean the person that did his voice.

  • @TheSasqua7ch Narrated by Winnie the Pooh, Kaa and the Cheshire Cat!!!! <3 Sterling Holloway

  • See, the wolf isn't that scary by itself, but with the music, it scares the bujesus outta me.

  • lol honostly the heffalumps and woozles scared me more than this did. I wore our VHS copy of this out in a year and had to get it replaced XD

  • Is it just me, or does it sound like the story is narrated by Whiny the pooh?

  • @tomoyboy

It's Sterling Holloway, he did the voice for the Cheshire Cat and Kaa too.

  • Peter is misspelled on the book. It's supposed to be ПETP not ПETЯ. The book would be pronounced "Petya" not "Peter"

  • @Mastermind19871987 Sorry, but Walt Disney decided to choose better known name :(

  • this cartoon kinda brainwashes me.

  • Oboes rock... enough said :)

  • You become one with clarinet, da?

  • my favorite actor went to seattle a few times where i am and he narrated this story at least....5 times i think. i didnt find out until he went back to new york. i was like "awww i want him to do that again!" 2 of my fan letters are on the celebritys fan mail site, im soo happy he got them :DDDD

  • Is Peter's design Pinocchio sans the nose or is it just me?

  • Sonja the duck is so cool :')

  • as a child i was to afraid to watch this shit ..first time im facing with my fear :D

  • I'm surprised Disney would depict a little Russian boy in RED clothing back when this was made! xD

  • Wait,... if the grandpa can beat peter, and peter can beat the wolf,... dosen't that mean that the grandpa could've just taken care of the wolf himself if it was that dangerous?

  • why is the duck in a bubble?

  • The wolf's theme reminds me a great deal of the final level in Sly 2

  • Thumbs up if the wolf was your favorite character

  • @ginnonifu to be honest, i actually always liked grandpa ^.^

  • The wolf scared the f out of me

  • This is so cool

  • Ah, Sterling Halloway may you never die.

  • omg thank you thank you thank you thank you, i remember this when i was a kid, ive been searching this for ages!!!!! thank you so much T_T

  • Is the narrators voice the same actor who voices "Kaa" in the Jungle Book?

  • @Loves2sp0oge Yes. it's the late Sterling Holloway who did voiceover narration for many Disney cartoon movies during his career.

and YES, the use of the Wolf leitmotif for Scott Farkas (Farkas meaning Wolf in Hungarian) in A Christmas Story was BRILLIANT.

  • @Loves2sp0oge Yes, and Winnie the Pooh, the cheshire cat in Alice and Wonderland, Flower (grown-up) from Bambi, etc. He had the perfect voice for cartoons.

  • I remember this thing so well! Thanks man.

  • That wolf scared the SHIT out of me as a kid.

  • i have the vhs video but my vhs machine don't work >.<

  • Lol...Scott Farkus... :)

  • Prokofiev's genius still is relevant today!

  • i've literally been humming this song for years and never knew wtf it was from until i found this and remembered watching it in elementary music class. omg. it has been driving me crazy for so long and now i can rest peacefully with this adorable little tune in my head. <3 best movie.

  • OMG i didn't seen this for lot's of years! xD ifanyone could see the smile i have right now... you'd be using me as a freak attraction hahahaha

  • Oh my god! I can't believe this is real! I always harboured strange memories of this song and that duck coming out of the oboe, along with Peter and his pop-gun.

There I was thinking it was just a dream!

  • I HATE OETER WOLVES WIN NOT PEETER

  • I know the wolf's instrument it's a French Horn my teacher said so.

  • I watched this in my music class and it's Russian. The narrator sounds like the snake in Jungle Book and Pooh in Weenie the Pooh.

  • @Violet2279 It is! Sterling Holloway did both of those voices, as well.

  • wachh

  • Hey does the narrator also play the snake in the jungle book?

  • @BenjaminKaufman @howlingserenity, yeah the narrator did the voice of winnie the pooh AND the cheshire cat from alice in wonderland. amazing!

  • I used to be scared to death of the wolf music in this when I was a kid. All the animals who had the music for them was creepy lol. I still remember freaking out when the wolf came! =o)

  • That sounds like winnie the pooh's voice

  • @R3TROSTARR It is. Sterling Holloway narrated this in Make Mine Music, Holloway's been in several other Disney movies. Dumbo (Mr. Stork), Bambi (Adult Flower), The Three Caballeros (Narrator of The Cold-Blooded Penguin), Alice In Wonderland (Cheshire Cat), The Jungle Book (Kaa), The Aristocats (Roquefort the Mouse), and of course Pooh Bear. Personally, I hear more of Kaa/Cheshire then I do Pooh, but that's probably just me.
