When you do button specific passing in the open court you get a better lead pass. Also the player passing has to have a good pass rating. If those 2 pieces aren't in the equation then the ball goes to the player and not were the player will be in 5 steps. That's what I've found but its still something every NBA player should be able to do regardless.

If you want more realistic gameplay go with Live 10 but if you want more animations/cutscenes, good game presentation, and realistic commentary then go get 2k10. If ya don't believe just compare the 2 games to a real NBA game cause you can really see the big difference between the 2 when it comes to gameplay and player movements (dribbling, passing, & signature shots).

It's part of the TV presentation. If u watch a real basketball game or football game, they have the sports ticker at the bottom of the screen normally, it's just a real-time sports ticker that is updated based on if you're connected to the internet to receive it or not.
I played the 2k10 Demo and it does feel a bit choppy and shitty....i hope thats not gonna be the final outcome of the real 2k10...cuz it will be a real disappointment...i mean judging from the 2k10 demo and NBA 2k9...NBA 2k9 feels way better than

One thing that jumps out at me right away is the presentation! The things that the commentators are talking about seem more relevant to the action that's going on and less like useless chatter. The crowd seems to be more into the action also. Like when ever the home team shoots a shot, you can hear the crowds anticipation of the shoot going in, or the nervousness the crowd displays when the opposing team is on a fast break! These are huge step ups from the previous years!
WOW It looks great !! I LOVE NBA 2k10. I tried the Live demo and it was so dissapointing - to me it looks and plays really bad. Ive heard reviews that live looks better .... but the bodies look so stiff and those 'fluid' movements look so forced. I just like the looks and play in 2k. Well Live in it's glory days never really had any competition so it won by default lol. It was still a very good game back in the day tho! It was actually still pretty good up until like Live 03 (The one with Jason Kidd on the cover). That's the last Live game I played and enjoyed. Gameplay just took a turn for the worst after Live '03. But then 2K came and took over.
If Live looks like it improved it's because it was so bad. If something sucks it's easy to notice when it improves. If something is nearly perfect it doesn't need major improvements just little tweaks.

WOW It looks great !! I LOVE NBA 2k10. I tried the Live demo and it was so dissapointing - to me it looks and plays really bad. Ive heard reviews that live looks better .... but the bodies look so stiff and those 'fluid' movements look so forced. I just like the looks and play in 2k. Mind you ive only played 2k9 so I dont remember live in its glory days

Well Live in it's glory days never really had any competition so it won by default lol. It was still a very good game back in the day tho! It was actually still pretty good up until like Live 03 (The one with Jason Kidd on the cover). That's the last Live game I played and enjoyed. Gameplay just took a turn for the worst after Live '03. But then 2K came and took over.

If Live looks like it improved it's because it was so bad. If something sucks it's easy to notice when it improves. If something is nearly perfect it doesn't need major improvements just little tweaks.

this game looks very smooth and the crowd looks so real...Only problem I see is it doesn't seem like too much has changed from 09, the crowd's cheering is very boring and the players without the ball aren't very active...I have to play the demo to actually judge but overall this looks good...

I've played 2k9 and i could honestly say i dont see a huge difference,(gameplay) But the overall feel of the game might slightly be different.I just dont see no big feature thats screams at methe same way live does right now.

major difference i see is, the gameplay seems smoother, the spacing / size of the player compared to the court is much better now

with what 2K has done especially 2K9 I doubt they can go wrong in 2K10 with what they already know, I was hoping to see some free throw footage, anyone know if free throws are roughly the same as 2k9 or has it been changed

Is it just me, or does the game seem to play at a slightly slower pace than it did in 2k9? Maybe it's just an illusion, but it seems like the overall pace and speed of the game (the framerate too) was much faster in 2k9.
