i also have trouble reading when i am blinded by information can you suggest you try audio books, i know people say that is the lazy mans option but i don't really care i enjoy the stories laid out by my favorite authors and i love to enjoy them without getting a headache, just a suggestion that i thought might help you, i am also a huge fan of Alastair Reynolds and i would defiantly recommend you read pushing ice, its by Reynolds and its got one of the most mind blowing story lines. enjoy :)
What puzzles me is why you would even compare the two books. It's true that Reynolds does have a tendency to blind you with science - however i feel you can forgive that because he has an incredible imagination and real storytelling ability. Stephanie Mayer has neither of these things as far as I can tell.
@drgonzo163 well I just find from a Dyslexic pint of view that he is a little hard to reed but I did find his books (yes I have read more than one ) hard going. and Stephanie Mayer who I find very easy to read had another book called The Host and that book is great. But you are entitled to your oppinion.
i am overly dramatic in my words so i only mean i am concerned at what your finished product will be about, you never know doing it all formulaic might find you a market for your work, who knows, what i want to say her is, i'm not surprised ur struggling with the reynolds book as unless you've read the preceding books, especially the first one you will not understand the big picture of his work
The book is the 3rd in the series. The first two are: Revelation space and redemption arc. However between those I read Chasm City. You may remember a character that goes by the name H. He talks to Clavain and the gang about the mission but he also talks about his story saying: "My story is for another time" Chasm city is all about his life and its a fucking brilliant character development book. Currently I am reading the absolution gap like yourself and totally enjoying the series.
