  • This is a cover, chill guys!

  • Vocally, they sound a bit like 'Stars on 45'. It's not bad, though. I sing this song regularly when out busking. An American band called Apple Jams did a CD of Beatles-style covers of songs the Beatles gave to other artists. I can't remember if this song was on it.

  • I wish people loading songs on You Tube would let the listeners know who is performing the song.

  • not a patch on the real thing

  • I have never heard this song before but I love it! Have always been a big Beatlefan.

  • Umm,.. yes this is Bas Muys- a Dutchman .. he's the same one on the- stars on 45- tribute to the Beatles .. yes- he does sounds a lot like Lennon ..

  • *BIG SIGH*..(shaking my head)...I miss songs like this.Is there ANYONE in the music biz who can pull a "180" & get music BACK to THIS again!???If I was a millionaire & I would start my own record label...'GM Records'..."Good Music".Who's with me?

  • I've always liked the melody on this one, even the bridge. But this isn't the Fab Four. It's Bas Muys' take of it. He made quite a few recordings of their early stuff, and managed to sound an awful lot like them. Pretty good at that. But, it ain't them!

  • thats lennon singing the lead...I think they co wrote this one.

  • This does sound like the beatles !

  • Beatles can make new album with this song! But why not? Do they tired?

  • Sounds like JL doing a demo with studio musicians for P&G to get the gist.(?)

  • Hey giuseppeturrisi ... Thanks for the upload of a long-lost "giveaway song" that I wish the Beatles had recorded themselves ... but they gave it to Billy J Kramer. Youtuber LEOCONDE is right, this version is by Bas Muys, a Dutch artist who put together an entire album of Beatles Giveaways called "Secret Songs". Still, he sounds a lot like the Beatles would've sounded if they had recorded the song themselves. For that reason, this is GREAT UPLOAD and much appreciated. Thanks loads. Hilts

  • This sounds like John Lennon on lead vocal ! Another great song peformed by The Beatles !

  • Not Beatles.

    Not Ringo in drums

  • Bas Muys. I have the LP.

  • Don't think this is Bas Muis. Could be Apple Jam though...

  • Noy Beatles BUT yes BAS MUIS !

  • don't suck you are a impostors but is a good work

  • It sounds exactly like the beatles...but I dont doubt the people who r saying it's a tribute band

  • not John

  • This sounds like The Beatles singing, another song well written and they sang it beautifully. Anything the Beatles sang and recorded is pure gold. I really enjoy listening to their music. They left some beautiful music behind ! So Beatle fans sit back and enjoy some of the best music every recorded.

  • I Don't Want To See You Again is a song by Paul McCartney credited to Lennon/McCartney, that was released by Peter and Gordon in 1964 as single.

  • hey guys

    look and listen

    oghi - dance balance

  • isnt the beatles, is the beats of argentina!!!!!

  • It Sounds like john lennon and paul McCartney ,

  • SO much better by Peter and Gordon and i LOVE the Beatles! But i think it's crap by them, seriously. :-/ Listen to the P&G version, it's a lot better in my opinion. :)

  • should have called it "Drop Dead" instead.

  • it's not peter and gordon's, it's bas muys'

  • Its not The Beatles.

  • definitely they're Bas Muys

    i got the cassette

  • This is not the Beatles. They are BAS MUYS who issued "Beatles Stars on 45" in 1981. Don't get fooled again!

  • @yocchangogo They ARE Bas Muys? It IS Bas Muys. He used to be lead singer of Dutch band Smyle who had a hit with the Beatles soundalike It's Gonna Be Alright in 1971 (written by George Kooymans of Golden Earring). Bas sang the John Lennon voices on Stars On 45 (1) in 1980 for which he received only a session fee allowing him just about to buy a new TV set. He then recorded an album of Beatles Give-away Songs. Smyle's lead guitarist Mark Boon gained world fame with Diesel (Sausalito Summernight).

  • Never heard before thanks for posting this awesome Beatle song.

  • Just to end the debate: This is NOT the Beatles. Although Lennon & McCartney wrote this song for Peter and Gordon, the Beatles NEVER recorded it -- not even as a demo. So don't be fooled. It's not even a decent imitation. End of story - period.

  • @wyvernsc Thank you! 100% correct. It's not even a decent imitation, especially the harmony on top that would belong to McCartney, not even close. I'm getting a bit irritated with these people who are covinced that it's them. Not so much as a demo is even documented. Even if there was a private demo to surface, it certainly wouldn't feature drums, bass, or double tracked vocals.

  • My ears say this is truly " The Beatles" and not just a cover... so I'll trust my own intuition.

  • @Carsonetric Bas Muijs my friend.

  • with peter and gordon greats song.

  • "Bas Muys"... I believe this was released after John Lennon's death the following year 1981, I was only in grade school way back in the Philippines. It was a very good cover composition of Lennon-McCartney give away songs back on their early days. I remember it was a total of 11 or 12 tracks, same lead vocals who did " Beatles Stars on 45". + 3 more songs here on You Tube " It's For you" " I Don't Want To See You Again" & " Tip Of My Tounge".

  • vivan los BEATLES que super cancion es de lennon y mcartney la canta john mis saludos a todos los fan de los beatles de san felx venezuela emilio farias fan#1...

  • i knew that this is one of the songs they gave away, but i seriously thought it was them! i am soooo stupid. i should know better.

  • thought it was the beatles excellent

  • No way is that The Beatles good though all the same.

Do I detect a Spanish accent?

  • I think you do here a Spanish accent. I think this Beatles Tribute Band is The Beats. They're from Argentina. I've heard them cover other Beatle songs.

  • Its not the Beatles playing, but they can imitate very well.

  • yeah, I do detect a very, very slight accent ......but they are VER GOOD!

  • I just listen to the other versions and this one definitely has to be the real Beatles

  • wow I'm stupid really thought this was the fab four

  • Comment removed

  • I think Beatles had had a success with this song.... I can't understand why they gave it away!!

  • Que beleza de video!

    grazie mille!

  • Hello all Beatles fans! I want to ask you who wrote this song John or Paul? Thanks!!!nice cover although it would be better with a little bit more power to it.

  • I would say John

  • Paul wrote a couple of songs for Peter and Gordon and this is one of them..so i would say Paul =)

  • Paul wrote it for Peter and Gordon in 1964. I like this version better than P&G!

  • I love this song. ;}}

  • Another beatle song that didn't do.

I don't want to see you again (Lennon--McCartney)

Single by Peter and Gordon, September 1964.

That's all I gotta say. Anyway, this band rocks.

  • Who's the band? The leader sounds just like Lennon. Great job.

  • Yes, this is not the Beatles, but the song was in fact written by McCartney. This is some sound-alike band and the uploader should amend the title to reflect this.

  • go to thebeatsonline(dot)com click discography and listen to them they play wthis and more!!!

  • The singer is Bas Muijs from Stars on 45

  • hum... i hear this guy singing stuff like drive my car and very known melodies but not this old beatles songs

  • THIS IS NOT A BEATLE SONG !!!

  • Not a Beatle recording, but definitely a Macca song which was recorded by Peter & Gordon who had a hit with it back in the day (this isn't P&G either)

  • @meridian2002 The song was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. They also wrote "World Without Love" . Paul was dating Jane Asher, Peter's sister before he "died". This is the Beatles version.

  • @meridian2002 The song was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. They also wrote "World Without Love" . Paul was dating Jane Asher, Peter's sister before he "died".

  • @TheCayJays I remember it well! I don't think John had a lot to do with the three P&G hits -- which also should include "Woman" which was released under a pseudonym but is also an L&M song by Macca.

Funny because I just thought this morning wouldn't it be cool for Paul to do a medley of the 3 P&G songs plus "Goodbye" (Mary Hopkin), and "Come And Get It" (Iveys/Badfinger) in his live show.

  • @meridian2002 Yea, these guys did a remarkable Beatles sound alike. Due to contractual obligations, Lennon's name had and still has to be on any song of that period that either one had written, and Lennon's had to be listed first. Yoko Ono filed suit to continue the practice after John died...hence the pseudonyms from Paul. I'm a writer and the lead singer of The CayJays, so I've been doing this for a long time too. :) Legal contracts can be really nasty.

  • @meridian2002 That would be way cool indeed. :)

  • I don't think this is the The Real Beatles

    Those aren't British accents.

But it still sounds good fellas.

  • NOT guy, this is NOT Beatles, it's a Tribute Groupe in 80's with Bas Muijs - one LP with the songs Lennon - McCartney not realized.
