  • Thank you for sharing this. My wife and I have recently had our first child, a lil girl, she was born with a small line on her cheek, that now has grown and covers the whole left side of her face. It has been ruled a segmental Hemangioma. We have started the Propranolol treatments and after only one week we are starting to see some slight changes in color and the swelling. She is 7 weeks old and has a long journey ahead, but thanks to these montages we have hope. Thanks again and god bless.

  • Re: Propranolol- Its so important to note that Sydney had become steroid dependant. Every time we attempted to wean her off, the hemangiomas would quickly return to their state of rapid growth. She was therefore scheduled for surgical excision of the hemangioma growing behind her eyelid. As you will see in the video, her eyelid grew so large from the hemangioma, that its covering of her eye could have led to permanent blindness. (Continued below)

  • We were informed that twins in Europe with similar conditions as Sydney's, who were placed on Propranolol for high bp, had significant improvements and reductions in the growth of their hemangiomas.

Her cardiologist cleared her, and we were informed that if successful, she could avoid the surgery altogether.

Within hours of her first dose, we saw improvement. She was able to wean off of steroids, and eventually stop taking propranolol with no further issues.

  • Please let me know what doctors told you about using pranolol. My four month old niece has this and the doctor has offer the medications but we are scared of the side effects. She only has one hemangioma in her forhead. her name is Sydney Nicole.

    Thank you,

    Jazmin

  • @lynnieguzman Thank you for your comment. Putting this montage together wasnt easy. We are happy that it has provided support for another family dealing with hemangiomas. All the best to your little girl for a complete and successful recovery. Please let me know if I can provide you with any of our resources. You can reach me by email at jeremyaa@aol.com

  • Amazing! i'm glad she's doing so well. My daughter also has PHACE Syndrome, but she didn't require laser treatments. Her hemangiomas were mainly internal.

  • WOW, just got this, thank you so much Jeremy, I am sitting at my desk at Lev LaLev, crying. I did not know, I had no idea. The photos or Sydney's smiles are so beautiful. The love on the faces of all of the adults holding Sydney is so strongly evident and heartwarming, most certainly will give hope to other's in similar pain. Thank you again for sharing this with me, I will pass this on. Chaya F.

  • Judi N commented: ok, I totally balled my eyes out. This is a great video and it just makes me think that I wish I new how to get it out there more so more people could be helped with this condition. What list did you send it to? Did you send it to all the doctors you visited prior to finding the last doctor? Maybe her pediatrician could also send it out to their e-mail list. I will send it to Tenafly pediatrics as well.

    Amazing, great job, beautiful song.

  • What an amazing story! God bless the Doctors, Sydney and her family for being so strong. I cant imagine having to go through this. She is truly a beautiful little girl.

  • Her transformation is amazing and inspirational. Sydney's journey has changed us all for the better. Thanks for sharing.

  • A beautiful strong little girl, a wonderful loving family and a super surgeon = all the ingredients to a happy ending. X
