  • I love you Thomas Jefferson!!!! Thank you for being who you were and doing the things that you did. You will forever be my role model and I'm sure that many feel the same that I do.

  • Every pseudo-conservative should watch this video

  • Why all the stories on the web about Presidents George Bush and George W. Bush being Illuminati?

  • This video is retarded. Yes the oath of office does not mention faith, but the constitution, which does mention our maker, does. Nice try though.

  • @pablocoon Sorry, but you are the retard because you missed the point. The point is that the phrase "So help me God" is not part of the oath.

  • @pablocoon

Could you show us where, exactly, the Constitution ,mentions god?

  • @Pooternackle5 Washington, whom every founding father supported for President no.1 was a devout Anglican. This country is rooted in Christian moral values, whether you like it or not.

  • @pablocoon George Washington appointed a Deist as head army chaplain as a joke, and he was never seen going into a church or praying, and he didn't bother having a preist come to his deathbed, he might have been a christian, but he was not a devout one, its very possible he was a Deist (like Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson as well as a few others) Agnostic or even Atheist.

  • The united states is not a theocracy. Never has been.

    Jesus Christ is Lord!

    Ron Paul 2012!

  • @Pooternackle5 check history. They were of an Evangelistic mindset. They had congress put federal tax money into sending missionaries to the indians and other people. Congress had the first American English bible printed with tax money. They (Congress) also started the first American bible society.

  • The adoption of the Declaration of Independence July

4th, 1776, marks our birth as a nation. This classic document

says that our rights come from God. What God gives, the state

cannot take away. Our rights are non-negotiable. The Declaration states WHY we exist as a nation, as opposed to the Constitution which spells out the HOW our government

    is to work.

  • @anthonyehooker I am fine if you believe god gives us our rights, however you also must acknowledge that our rights as spelled out in the constitution and the declaration of independence are at odds with the god of the Abrahamic religions, which in many instances actively kills people for speech, belief in other religions, and pretty much every other "right" we have.

  • CONT. Allowed clergymen to hold public office and encouraged them to do so, • Funded religious books for public libraries, • Funded salaries for missionaries, • Funded the construction of church buildings for Indians, • Exempted churches from taxation,Established professional schools of theology. He wanted to bring the entire faculty of Calvin’s theological seminary over from Geneva, Switzerland, and establish them at the University of Virginia.
  • CONT. Allowed government property and facilities to

    be used for worship,

    • Used the Bible and non-denominational

religious instruction in the public schools. He

was involved in three different school districts

and the plan in each one of these required—

required—that the Bible be taught in our public

    schools.

  • look atJeffersons actions as president when it comes to the faith. Thomas Jefferson: • Promoted legislative and military chaplains, • Established a national seal using a biblical symbol, • Included the word God in our national motto, • Established official days of fasting and prayer— at least on the state level, • Required that oaths be phrased by the words “So Help Me God” and be sworn on the Bible, • Granted land to Christian churches to reach the Indians,
  • @Pooternackle5 John Adams said the U.S. Constitution would govern only a “moral and religious” people and would be worthless with any other kind of people. George Washington said the USA could never hope to be a happy nation unless the people imitated the behavior of Christ, the Savior. First Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court John Jay said that this Christian nation ought to elect Christians as its leaders.

  • @ArtetlaMusique87 Evidently you are ignorant to the true fact of our nations history! Study it and you will see that your above statement falls to the ground.

  • @ArtetlaMusique87 and now america has lost its way i must look to europe and see how its changed the america that founding fathers intended is dead its replaced by a monstrosity your founding fathers must be in their graves churning in greif of how a dream turned to a nightmare.

  • Only watched 5 seconds ans already LOVE THE MUSIC!!! ;)

  • pat robertson is a royal arch freemason, a fraud, made to solidify the religious right and make the liberals believe that fundie christians are wacko. our founding fathers we freemasons, our revolutions were planned, whether democrat or republican, its all the same freemason hegelian dilectic being played on ALL americans and the world; for freemasonry is global and has its origins in the counterfeit satanic catholic holy roman empire... your all being duped...

  • "The Declaration of Indepencence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer's mission upon the earth; and laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity." (John Quincy Adams)

  • "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians. Not on any religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ." (Patrick Henry)

  • @GaryLyons That is a fake quote. Try again.

  • @jfsfrnd ..it is all too real my friend, all to real. Jesus also said - "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one goes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)

  • @GaryLyons So?

  • @jfsfrnd ....so, it would be wise to heed 1 John 5:11-12 - "This is the verdict: God has given us eternal life, this life is in His Son; those who have the Son have life. Those who do not have the Son of God do not have life."

  • @GaryLyons It would be wise to heed it if you are a Christian. It would also be wise to check your quotes to see if they are real and accurate before you post them on internet sites.

  • @jfsfrnd ...my friend, the truth is wise to heed no matter who you are. And the quotes are indeed quite accurate. Jesus is clear in John 14:6 - "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one goes to the Father except through Me."

  • @GaryLyons Your first one wasn't. That is a fake Patrick Henry quote.

  • @jfsfrnd ..thats not fake at all, he did say that. It sounds like you just hate that he said it. You hate the truth of his words.

  • @GaryLyons Okay post the name of the document that it came from, a letter, speech etc.

  • @jfsfrnd ...Patrick Henry's quote is not part of a document my friend. You are angry that this nation was founded on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Well you ought not to be. For in Him is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. May God bless you.

  • Comment removed

  • @GaryLyons how do you interpret the first amendment when beleiving this nation was founded on the gospel of Jesus Christ?

  • @goodday306 ~I intepret the 1st amendment to mean that congress shall not make any laws respecting the establishment of any religions and that congress shall never prohibit the free exercise of any individual to practice whatever religion they want. I bet you interpret to mean there is a separation of church and state, which it does not say, and never did. It is Jesus Christ who affords freedom in the first place, and this nation was founded on this freedom. God bless you!

  • @GaryLyons in this country we have the freedom to commit sodomy, eat shellfish, worship idols, divorce, be an adulterer ect

so this country was not founded on the morals of jesus and most of the founding fathers were not christian.

by the way i completely agree with your interpretation of the 1st ammendmant so i dont know what you interpret the separation of church and state to mean?

  • @goodday306 ..The point is that the separation of church & state is no where to be found in the constitution. Patrick Henry said- 'it cannot be emphazied too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians, not any religions but on the gospel of Jesus Christ." ~ I agree with you, this nation is filled with wicledness and goes against God's ways, so there is divorce, sodomy and adultery, which is exactly why the founders new this nation needed God.

  • @GaryLyons Patrick Henry is one man, jefferson, paine and franklin and many others were not christian, just read there quotes.

  • @jfsfrnd ~of course our nation and our constitution allows for religious freedom and that is because most founders were Christian and because this nation was founded on the rock and foundation of Jesus Christ. Because of this truth anyone can believe and worship as they wish or believe no God exists at all, thats the point. No one is forcing anyone to believe anything, the founders made sure of this. All I am doing is telling you the truth, what you do with it is your choice. May God bless you!

  • @GaryLyons You still haven't proved that Patrick Henry ever said that. And where did Jesus ever make a statement about freedom of religion? The nation was founded on religious freedom not the ''rock and foundation of Jesus Christ''. When you go to church does your pastor preach freedom of religion and allow all religions and non religions to express themselves in his/her church? C'mon.

  • @jfsfrnd ~Jesus talked about freedom exclusively & He is the source of it. For He said: "If you obey My teachings you will know the truth and the truth will set you free and who the Son sets free will be free indeed!" ~ In this country anyone can believe as they wish and express those beliefs as they wish, because of the freedom that comes from Jesus Christ specifically and which inspired the founding fathers. My church teaches the bible, anyone is welcome to attend no matter what they believe.

  • @jfsfrnd mine does. Baptist. We were persecuted by the pilgrims and others until the revolutionary war. The pilgrims wanted religious freedom, only if you believed as they did. Look up John Leland. He was a baptist preacher who pushed for the 1st amendment. But having said that, I believe America was founded by men who believed in Christ and God. They wrote too many things about Him not to believe this. you people can only quote about 5 or six people. we can quote over 250 founders.

  • @anthonyehooker ''You people?''

    Who am I?

''I believe America was founded by men who believed in Christ and God.''

You believe? You don't know? It doesn't matter what any of them personally believed. They founded a nation that stands for religious freedom. That's why the Catholics or some other powerful group isn't dictating to you what you should believe or persecuting you for your beliefs.

  • @jfsfrnd i agree 100% with that statement.

  • There used to be a fantastic video uploaded called "Was America founded as a Judeo-Christian Nation?"...until YouTube deleted it. It was an interview with an academic historian who had so many documents from the Founders condemning organized Christianity. The founders, including the first seven presidents were known as Diests, believing in a singular, universal force or intelligence but not a traditional "God on a throne in a place called Heaven". This is documented fact.

  • There is NOT one single Historic Fundamentalist Christian in this video. A common lie is to brand anyone you disagree with as a fundamentalist. These men are Neo-Evangelicals and Ecumenicist. Teachings that Fundamentalist Christians reject.

  • Sound track from "Shawshank"?

  • Pat Robertson is nothing more than a clever puppet to world Jewry. The Jews Want you to think that they are against Christianity, but it's only to confuse us gentiles!!! "The Last Temptation of Christ" which was obviously very controversial, and incited many of the deluded to Cry "We are under attack" was a deliberate act by hollywood to play a game of confusion and deciet. In truth, the Jews invented Christianity in the middle of the first century C.E. as a way to Destroy all gentiles!!!!!!

  • "The study of theology, as it stands in the Christian churches, is the study of nothing; it is founded on nothing; it rests on no principles; it proceeds by no authority; it has no data; it can demonstrate nothing; and it admits of no conclusion."

  • The tragedy in Norway is a good example of the dangers of Christian Fundamentalism. All forms of religious fundamentalism is a threat to humanity. The US Constitution 1st Amendment was formed to prevent any form of religious fundamentalism of taking over the USA! Hopefully these ideas like the 1st Amendment is adopted by the rest of the world.

  • Pat Robertson is an ass-hat.

  • Look up Seven Mountain Strategy. That's what Pat Robertson and the other Dominionists are trying to accomplish.

  • F the founding fathers and what they thought. They are dead now. Great start, but they were whore mongering deists who owned slaves. We should be able to progress past this. Don't believe me? Then you need to study up on Hamilton, Jefferson, Madison, as well as any of the other people who were around politically back then. Jesus had little or nothing to do with our country's founding. Jesus is a great allegorical story, but his resurrection is bullshit.

  • @genehambone ....Hatred paralyses life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated." -George Bernard Shaw

You really should resolve the hate issue that is destroying you, its lake a cancer.

  • @RhodesWC I am not full of hate, I was just making a point. I was laughing while I wrote this. I do, however, think that many people are led astray by other's projection of their dogma. I love America, as well as the Constitution, but I think people are stuck in the mud by not digging deeper. I have no hate in my heart, I love everyone. But I also don't mind telling people to fuck off in my own ways.

  • I just recently watched this excellent documentary, " The Hidden Faith of the Founding Fathers", and discovered that the Founding Fathers were all 33rd degree freemasons. You will be shocked to discover what the Founding Fathers actually believed in the own words!

  • @Neuromancer1970

NONE of the Founding Fathers believed in the Trinity, and none of them believed that Jesus was the Son of God. There is ample proof of this - in fact, they ere Freemasons. You ever wondered why ALL the Capitol buildings are built to Masomic architecture designs?

  • @Neuromancer1970 He actually used federal money to build evangelical churches and sent missionaries for native americans... look it up.

  • THIS IS THE MUSIC PLAYED ON FAMILY GUY WHEN THEY GO TO JAMES WOODS MANSION AND A FEW CHARACTERS START DYING.

  • @PhysicalsimForever I wish it was like that in the U.S. Here if you believe in free markets, limited government, and a strong national defense, people stereotype you as a christian fundamentalist. I believe in all of those things but I'm a die hard ahteist.

  • So, what two pieces of music are used in this?

  • "lighthouses are more helpful than churches"-Benjamin Franklin

  • Church's are a meeting places for fellowhip for those people with the same beliefs, Jefferson was a spiritual man along with the other founding fathers who sought God in secret on their knee's , on the ceiling of the Jefferson memorial taken from a letter Jefferson wrote to Dr. Ambrose (I have sworn upon the alter of God eternal hostility against every form of trynnany over the mind of Man )

  • @Neuromancer1970 That's because Jefferson was not a Christian in the normal sense of the word Christian.

  • Great vid

  • @QuestionForAtheists

It's very smple; teach them that they should make their life count. Unlike you people who say "Fuck the life we have now" and pine for the death of everything.

  • Jefferson stated that Christiantity "makes half the world fools, the other, hypocrites. Compared parts of the bible to the "ravings of a maniac." ...re-wrote the bible, leaving out all of the "miracles," including Christ, etc, etc, etc.

  • James Madison,Father of the Constitution,Bill of Rights,,Founding Father;"The number, the industry and the morality of the priesthood& the devotion of the people have been manifesrtly increased by THE TOTAL SEPARTATION OF THE CHURCH FROM THE STATE."

Feb,1811,vetoed a bill to give Church funding for schools, etc b/c it violated the 1st amendment,Congress agreed. March,'11, vetoed giving a church governmt land, same reason. Congress debated,+ agreed.

  • @Neuromancer1970 He absolutely did not. In fact he openly mocked the very idea of, or anyone who believed in, the divinity of Jesus. He called it what it is, a cult.

  • @Neuromancer1970 In some ways yes, but there are "Unitarians" out there

  • fantastic & revealing vid.

  • wonder if pat robertson could hold down a regular job -

  • Godly Nation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Founded upon Bible principles!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm not really aware that America's story has been retold HERE as an Irish one. But maybe it's different in Europe? It is true that people who settled in urban areas that haven't been here as long have effected cultures more greatly thru art & music. Irish music became blue grass. Theatre began w Irish, blacks & Jews in the Yiddish theatre & jazz is a combination of these 3 groups groups. But the constitution is different.

  • I should mention blue grass is really Sots-Irish music and happened when the groups made their way down the east coast thru Appalachia. All these people were very poor & weren't exactly embraced by the dominant culture. They wouldn't be able to afford fancy homes in the towns or country. But their music and theatre were more accessible to the masses since it was cheaper-- music was often played outdoors impromptu at informal gatherings. In cities their theatre tix cost a fraction of say opera.

  • I'm wondering is there the same trend re interest in Hindus in Europe? Here it was 1st introduced via dangerous cults like Hare Krishna & some Guru thatrock stars used to follow. There was even a lethal Buddhist cult (imagine a bunch of neurotic Buddhists). But American interest seems to go beyond that altho it's not like ppl label it or anything. Even atheists. Weird.

  • Fortunately in England we’ve basically got the Anglican Church. They’re pretty harmless and ineffectual. I think they’ve resigned themselves to the fact that for most people the only time they go to church is for weddings and funerals and maybe Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve and that’s it. Hare Krishna was here for a while but I think had little appeal. Mind you Austria had some very odd, and I mean odd, cults during the 60’s and 70’s.

  • Same here ppl show up for mass during holidays, funerals & weddings...

But no mention of hell & devils in churches. I think it was typified in an epi of Sex And The City where Miranda is striking the words hell & devil from Brady's Baptism. But this is mainstream middle/upper class. It seems poorer ppl still embrace the terror aspects.

  • The most worrying change has been the rise of proselytised radical Islam. The young men in particular seem very clear that they have taken the warlike position. However, to keep things in perspective in the 80’s we had huge street battles between supporters of different football teams. Literally thousands fighting in the streets. That was stopped. We have riots in London every 10 years or so.

  • Wanted to add, if the intelligencia is embracing the RC claims as fact it's scary. Here it's just more marginalized types that believe it 1st thru Christianity then thru Islam, which never made it to mainstream. It's not a comparable situation tho bc we had no empire really, well we used Quam & PR for bases & I think did shady business in Haiti - so Muslims have no special claim to come here. Neither Latinos nor super-brainy types care about Islam. And the latter tends to shun dogma full stop.

  • It’s not such much that the intelligentsia have embraced the RC. It is the reams of its politically and ideologically motivated narratives that are doing so much damage. For example don’t you find it odd that America’s story has been transmogrified into an Irish Catholic one? Yet the Irish Catholics played no part in the founding of America or its constitution. Protestant Irish, yes – now derided as ‘white trash’, ‘red necks’ and ‘hillbillies’. The historical revisionism is painful to see.

  • What are the two pieces of music used in this video?

  • ''Strongly guarded as is the separation between Religion & Govt in the Constitution of the United States the danger of encroachment by Ecclesiastical Bodies, may be illustrated by precedents already furnished in their short history.''

    James Madison, Detached Memoranda

  • Let's not forget that the Soviet Union collapsed in 70 years and even China has eased it's grip. On the other hand, the unthinkable torture, slaughter and enslavement of black Africans in the Sudan by Arab Muslims started roughly 600 years ago and continues to this day.

  • @puckf17 The Arab Muslims have been slavers and slaughterers for 1,400 years and still counting. The Arab Muslims destroyed Africa's ancient civilisations. The last of them fell in 1590 when the Catholic Portuguese and Arab Muslims between them finished off the last non-Muslim civilisation. It's also worth examining where Islam got its architecture from; the very African civilisations they destroyed. It should come as no surprise they are now claiming the scientific revolution as due to them.

  • @ritchloui Think of all the Muslim's did to India. They destroyed temples and universities and now great works of scholarship and literature are gone. When one considers India's vast contributions to the world (I't seems many of the world's thinkers see them as the great originators) it's heartbreaking and elicits outrage. They also engaged in horrific slaughter and forced conversion there. Tho how anyone could see forced-conversion as a "win" is beyond me.

  • Interestingly, as we know the Muslims had hold of ancient Indian and Greek texts. They made some progress and then sat on it for 1,000 years. Now they are seriously claiming that the scientific revolution is owed to them despite there not being a single Muslim contribution in 400 years. This blatant thieving dishonesty got me thinking. Their religion is obviously plagiarised. I then wondered about their undeniably beautiful architecture. Was that also taken, from ancient African civilisations?

  • @puckf17 Sorry, I pretty much repeated myself. Yes. Ancient and Modern India’s contribution to Man’s enlightenment has been shamefully under-acknowledged. Just a little one; that when the Nazi’s last threatened the world India produced the greatest voluntary army the world has ever seen to defend the world against them. Cheers to India!!

  • @ritchloui Cheers indeed! The more I read, the more apparent it becomes you just can't celebrate the Indians enough! Squaring circles, quadratic equations, closely approximating pi, mapping the human circulatory system, medicine, to name a few. And their oral history proved to be outstanding. Think on the found city of Dwarka. Right where they said it was when considering the probability of massive melting glaciers.

  • Well it’s about time they trumpeted their achievements. We all (anyone non-Muslim) up against a revitalised Islamic imperialism. Unfortunately the massive rise in Islamic states who regard themselves as a single block (ie Islamic Empire) has taken Europe in particular completely by surprise and, in my view, we are in the ‘phoney war’ stage whilst the Free World works out what it’s going to do. The monotheists have us all over a barrel but, if I have to, I will stand by the Jews. Crazy innit.

  • @ritchloui btw Hindu's have pointed out that they're in fact monotheastic (not that i care.) God is referred to as Brahma. Vishnu & Krishna, et al are actually manifestations (some Hindus get annoyed at the miscomprehension). I suspect the monotheism part of the commandments was more about the mystery cults and lawlessness of human self appointed Gods that practiced human blood sacrifice. But Christians & Muslims (I call 'em the "Hell People") are hella literal & take things to the extreme.

  • I knew that the Harapan civilisation came before any of the empires that rose and fell in the Middle East and Europe. Some Harapan engineering achievements were not even equalled by the Romans. Yes, apparently the Harapan people were black skinned, very dark indeed. My understanding is that whoever the Aryans were they basically smashed the Harapan civilisation and established the caste system. Will we ever learn?

  • @ritchloui My understanding is that the "Aryans" were another tribe similar to the rest of the Indians. In the Vedas it says that after the rivers dried up (aerial views reveal the 2 rivers) they migrated up north. One theory is they fled to what is now Tibet or thereabouts. Current theory: there were never invaders. That was started by early English archeologists & ppl still accept it. More recent excavation unearthed art symbols similar to Hindu's. Earth shifts & finding answers can take time.

  • Ultimately the Jews are the most fun to debate with and have definitely got an unearthly good grip on things. My favourite anti God speaker is Christopher Hitchens. Very amusing, he lands his shots beautifully. Nevertheless his politics tended to bring out the monster. Interesting twist on the Harapan story, I wonder how it’ll turn out.

  • @ritchloui Yeah Hitchens takes no prisoners. But see here's what I mean.

He offered up a false story about Jews, saying it was policy in scripture for Doctors not to bother helping non Jews. Turns out it's the exact opposite! It was straight from the propaganda mill- the kind of thing white supremacists here propagate. Maybe he thinks the OT is the same as the Torah? But it seemed real to him & he never bothered to fact-check. This makes me wonder if Europe is just uncomfortable with them.

  • Unfortunately the ‘Protestant’ wing of American politics, as per the video, are ripe for the picking vis Islam. In other words their absurd and foolish religious advocacy has more in common with Islam than they care to admit. Indeed for those already in the clutches of clerics and cults it will not be a massive leap to just change the cult. The secularists need to sort themselves out, and fast.

  • @ritchloui Yeah Protestants hammered Puritans who in kind pummeled Quakers. India is 1 of the few places where Jews weren't persecuted. Neither are evangelistic & are into study and imagination. I found that the 2 groups are dialoging, NOT bc of Islam's hatred, bc of mutual respect. Israeli archeologists affirmed the Indus Valley ppl were NOT white invaders, they were in fact Indian.

Evangelism is a destructive force. "I'm RIGHT, you're all wrong." Islam & Christianity- power respects power.

  • It’s probably over-simplistic of me but I tend to regard all the various Christian denominations in America as ‘Protestant’ in the sense only that they are not Roman Catholic. They did have the good sense to come up with a secular form of governance. It is a bit disheartening that they are now so utterly out of touch and cling so tightly to their ridiculous Sky Daddy. Kindly Jesus said to the children “Believe or burn in hell”. Not nice.

  • @ritchloui Ha well the US is less monolithic than Europe. As far from view as small town WV, Christians are somewhat Hindu. Everyone has incorporated eastern religion into whatever they practice. Even RC churches would lose all members if they talked about hell & devils. No one but under educated ppl in the US even think about Islam. It simply doesn't interest Americans. Lots of mixed marriages but the kids prefer Judaism (with liberal non religious parents!) So Islam lost out big time lol!

  • I’m still completely in two minds about the whole Abraham thing. We are given to believe his significance is that he threatened to kill his son and took a knife to his penis instead. Not nice and obviously he should have been thrown in jail but instead he started a religion that went global. Perhaps the reality is that he successfully took a stand against human sacrifice. The Christians wanted one more of course. Islam’s message is mainly‘death to the infidel’ and they’ll do the killing.

  • @ritchloui To be honest I think a lot of those laws re circumcision were done for health reasons as they understood them. You may not know this but the practice became routine in the US after WWII.

Probably due to combined factors. The rise in vd characteristic in the aftermath of wars & an increased rise in cancers in the US in the 20th century. Tho fairly rare cancer of the penis only occurs in uncircumcised men. But if iirc it's highly curable now so no reason for it.

  • @puckf17 btw when I said kids prefer Judaism in mixed marriages I meant Christian/Jewish mixes. I think it's bc it's a lot looser and encourages questions. I gather Europe sees Jews differently & I'm not sure what's going on or why there is such a perceptual difference. Maybe there's only Orthodox ppl there or something? But like I said most ppl wherever they started out have adopted a more eastern views. But maybe ppl fold in other perceptions easier here bc the country has a short history.

  • Roman Catholic political narratives have reached far into the American left, ie intelligensia. Some of these are deeply hostile and slanderous towards the Jews and of course to America itself. I’m surprised Hitchens should make such a serious mistake in pursuit of an argument. Roman Catholicism is still a vital force in Europe and even though they have retracted their slanders the Islamists have lapped them up. In UK mixed marriages of all kinds are normal.

  • @ritchloui I read RCs were forbidden to practice here before the Declaration was signed. It's bc ppl were terrified of the Vatican. But then Puritans started torturing & killing Quakers. It was a mess tho ppl came here bc of religious persecution. I think Jews used to be a big part of the left here but there's not much left, *left* anymore- more what's called liberals. It seems Paul & Gospel ppl took old ideas & sold them as new, lied & stood a lot on it's head (tho I admit I'm no theologian.)

  • The Roman Church has been a terrible enemy of Protestant UK since Henry VIII. This became even more pronounced when James VI of Scotland became James 1 of England, Scotland and Wales. This enmity was played out over the Irish. Unfortunately Elizabeth I had allowed the Irish to remain Roman Catholic. The Irish paid a terrible price as they were crushed between the RC and the Protestant UK. This enmity went to America en masse 1845 potato famine.

  • @ritchloui Yeah I know all about the Irish floating coffins & the subsequent Irish struggles. On top of that Irish & English cultures are very different.

It's true RC is very ritual heavy but Protestant Evangelists can be very dogmatic. Brontë wrote about that in Jane Eyre. Christianity has a heavy emphasis on afterlife but the Evangelists took it to new heights. I think even the Cathars (Christian-Gnostics) believed that material life was stained including sex and was very afterlife oriented.

  • Here’s an example of the dynamic between the RC and the UK. For example, the obvious but strangely invisible fact that the British played no part whatsoever in setting up the trans-Atlantic slave trade. The Portuguese had become slavers as early as 1440. What was to soon to come was a catastrophe of epic proportions. A genocide was unleashed in both Americas and also Africa. Entire peoples were wiped out with not a soul left to mourn their passing.

  • True. There is definitely a health benefit and certainly reduces the chance of transmitting or catching disease. The crime of course, is the genital mutilation of girls. This terrible practice is still fairly widespread in certain African countries. My understanding it is all within Muslim tribes and not in any other religious denomination. I may be wrong. It is extraordinary that this has continued and reveals an extent of a living horror that is hard to comprehend.

  • @ritchloui Yeah I've heard about female mutilation. The horrors inflicted by that group make me shudder. The Chinese used to bind women's feet so they wouldn't grow to full size, that's bad enough.

There are Muslim cults here that prey on vulnerable ppl. Tho they're not mainstream they ARE scary. I think those that will suffer the most are the ppl in them- they'll stay hostile & stuck & maybe worse, but they do have a choice so...

  • I reckon there will be many academics re-examining Arab Muslim history and there will soon be a plethora of best sellers exposing its underside. It came as a shock to me to discover the nature, extent and timescale of their slaving system and why the estimated 112 million Africans taken to Arabia and beyond had no progeny.

  • It's a shame; a horror actually. I always feel Africans & ppl of African descent get screwed. If it's not by some opportunistic other group it's by an opportunistic leader. It kills me that the US didn't airlift ppl in the Sudan and bring them here. Same for Indians in '71. We have the space to set up parks. I bet we could have raised a lot of donations and got volunteers to help. The situation was under reported imo.

It is and will always be one of our great shames.

  • Why the fuck's anyone quoting Marx? Point is that the Founding Fathers would puke if they could witness the religious idiocy that holds so much political power today. You can separate church and state without turning into the USSR.

  • @jalehtri I'm assuming most christians don't realize there are very conservative athesists (such as myself) even our military is growingly atheistic! (I'm also in the army) it's possible to be a patriotic conservative and an atheist at the same time.

  • @xtremejohnny69

So you're just a regular fucking dipshit. Congratulations.

  • @beesleeper I don't see where you got that assumption but way to show your intelligence! I mean you must be the smartest guy in the world to not even attempt to debate but to just call names.

  • @xtremejohnny69 Definitely. I wish that more conservatives believed in a separation of church and state. I'm progressive, btw.

  • @xtremejohnny69 You are more proof that the Myth 'There is no atheists in a foxhole!' is complete bullshit. Also i have never personally found one, but i know they exist, and atheist grave in a national cemetery. I've seen Wiccan, Scientology and other obscure religions.

  • @MegaMoose1989 You can get Jedi listed as your religion on your dog tags. I was tempted to when I filled out my paperwork with my recruiter, but they take that stuff kind of seriously. I didn't wanna be on my deathbed and have a jedi preist try to give me my last rites lol. The army is growing more and more atheistic, I would guess that's because the army reflects society alot and soceity is becoming more atheistic.

  • @xtremejohnny69

Dude! Having a Jedi Master give you last rights would be fucking awesome!

  • homosexuality will destroy the earth ?,ted haggard must be involved

  • Nicely done!

  • ok if you're smarter then lead go ahead show the way.

  • @Neuromancer1970 Paine is a Deist

''I believe in one God, and no more; and I hope for happiness beyond this life.'' - Thomas Paine [Age of Reason]

  • @Neuromancer1970

It is up to God to decide who is and who is not a Christian.

  • @Neuromancer1970

According to some who view themselves as Christians it is not.

  • @Neuromancer1970

Jefferson didn't eliminate all the miracles.

  • @Neuromancer1970

Ever read the Bill of Rights?

    Maybe the Declaration of Independence?

His name isn't found on either of those documents.

  • @Neuromancer1970

Franklin wrote in the past tense for a reason.

Paine was not a founder, Adams was a Unitarian, Madison was an Anglican, as for Jefferson we could go on for days but he considered himself to be a CHristian.

  • @ivlfounder You and your Jefferson was a Christian BULLSHIT, You are fucking delusional. A Christian would never make a point of freedom of religion that goes directly against the teachings of the bible. Are you consistently ignorant of what Christianity is? A man that rewrites the bible and takes all the miracles out, is not a Christian. It doesn't fucking matter why you say he did it, he did it, again against the teachings of the bible. He was not a Christian.

  • @mechanicmike69

Swearing at me isn't going to change the fact that Jefferson said he was a Christian.

  • @ivlfounder What are you a mommy now? The religious need to realize that non-believers are above them, not below as your religion has brainwashed you to believe. Non-belief is the next step up from the mud for the human race. You are still believing in a flat world at the center of the universe and just can't see reality. Your religious ignorance has no bounds. No invisible being ever saved anyone from anything, including depression.

  • When it came to religion the founders were clearly nicer than some people wish they had been.

Still most of the founders made it clear they considered themselves to be Christians.

  • Signers of the Declaration of Independence were Anglicans (Episcopalians) over half, Congregationalist, Presbyterian, Quaker, Unitarian, Lutherans and Catholics. None of which adhered to "adult" baptism. Also, the reason the issue of separation of church and state even exits is because of Jefferson's letter to the "Baptist" at Danbury, Conn. Assuring them that what many churches believed was their heretical form would be protected. Fundamentalist are not Christian

  • @ 1:15 WTF Feminists. What the fuck did they do thats against Christianity. Oh yeah the fought to have equal rights.

  • In the US we are a free and conscience driven nation. Not a theocracy like Iran, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Easter countries. That is unless we keep our freedom, no one who is a lover of freedom, thinking according to the dictates of conscience and free thinker would stand for the abolition of freedom in this country. Xian's like gunzrkewl would say we are an Xian nation. Absolutely not, never were never will be. Unless they, throw out the Constitution and Bill of Rights, which is their plan

  • To those who think that they are the arbiters of faith, Who in the hell do u think u r? How can u judge the dictates of another's conscience? This judgement is the result of arrogance and the theocratic mindset. We are not a 'christian nation!' Never have been, hopefully never will be. If it becomes one, tyranny will reign, tolerance a thing of the past. Who decides which church is the right one? U, you intolerant bigoted individual who believes that Jesus is God, a non-existent person? cont.

  • Just because someone calls themselves a christian does not make them one. A tree is known by its fruits (in other words behavior). A president or anyone else that claims to be christian but promotes the New World Order is a wolf in sheep's clothing & not a christian. America is not run by a majority of christians, if so u would not soon be forced to lose all ur rights & be microchipped (mark of the beast) & lose all solvreignty & civil liberties. This is NOT the result of a christian nation.

  • Homosexuality, alcoholism, illegal drug taking, murderers, pedophils, rapists, fornicators, adulterers, liars, etc. are not diseases & you are not born that way, but are corrupt behaviors/choices that destroy a person & a society that either harms self &/or others. Basically they're sin. Sin is evil & corrupts mankind. God lets man have free will to choose to follow Him or not, but does not mean evil will not be punished. Whether one believes in God or not does not matter, results are the same.

  • @kokonutbaby1 "Basically they're sin. Sin is evil & corrupts mankind. God lets man have free will to choose to follow Him or not, but does not mean evil will not be punished." Prove it. Prove to a rational man that your god, or any gods exist. Until you do so, your rhetoric falls on deaf ears. Tell me, how do feel when Muslims quote the Quran? How about when Mormons quote the Book of Mormon? Do you believe what they say simply because it comes from a religious text?

  • @illuzion30 I dont have to prove it. I live by faith that Jesus Christ took my sins, your sins, all mankinds sins & died on the cross as the final sacrifice for sin, resurrected on the 3rd day, overcame death so I dont have to die the second death which is soul death in the lake of fire. Anything outside Bible scripture that is added to scripture is false doctrine & not taught by the early church (& I dont mean catholic church). I dont think if u cannot believe in the Bible without proof (cont)

  • @kokonutbaby1 "I dont have to prove it." Then don't expect people to believe it. "false doctrine" Good... now you know how some people feel about your Bible.

  • @illuzion30 Look, it's not up to me to force you into believing or saving your soul..all I am suppose to do as a christian is witness the good news that Christ died on the cross for you, resurrected, and has gone to prepare a place for you in heaven if you CHOOSE to believe on Him & follow Him..that and pray for you. Many are called but few are chosen says scripture...that is because not all will believe & have faith..You dont sound like a happy person to me..so what are your plans after death?

  • @kokonutbaby1 You still haven't established any veracity to your claims. You just don't get it, do you? As for my state of well being, I'm fine. Obviously I don't have any plans after death; it would be silly to make such plans.

  • @illuzion30 that u are not capable of believing in any book without proof whether it be science or nonfiction as you are trusting in the writer not to be lying aren't u? If u want proof if Jesus is real, if scripture is truth then ask God with an honest truth seeking heart. Your deaf ears, blind eyes will not mean anything in the end. The end will be the same. If people are not children of God then they are the children of satan whether they believe in him or not, you're doing his will.

  • @kokonutbaby1 "you are trusting in the writer not to be lying aren't u?" I think all media should be approached with skepticism. "ask God with an honest truth seeking heart." Done it; didn't work. "f people are not children of God then they are the children of satan whether they believe in him or not, you're doing his will." More baseless claims. How do you expect people to believe such nonsense when you make no effort to establish your outlandish claims?

  • @illuzion30 "Done it; didnt work." Then you did not do it right..because if you had given your heart to Christ in all humbleness and sincerity He would not have turned you away...sounds like you were just testing & not really searching. As long as you love sin more than you love God you cannot receive anything from Him. He is no respecter of persons therefore He would not turn you away if you had been truly seeking Him with all your heart. I hope u do soon, we dont have much time left.

  • @kokonutbaby1 "because if you had given your heart to Christ in all humbleness and sincerity" Oh, I see; I have to believe in the first place for my prayers to be answered? Well, that's very catch-22. In order for me to believe, I have to believe? Well, that's not going to happen. That's like me saying if you pray to the tooth fairy and you believe it with all your heart, you'll get a million dollars; go ahead and try it. Can you suspend disbelief in nonsense? I certainly can't.

  • @illuzion30 what is catch 22 about it? You are not getting it..if you dont believe in God, not willing to repent of your sins, what do u expect?? An answer?? No because you never expected an answer, so why am I wasting my time on a die hard athiest? Unfortunately for you, you will find out the hard way in this life and the next because of the hardness of your heart. I'd hate to believe that when I died I just didn't exist..what would be the hope in that? What would be the blessing in living?

  • @kokonutbaby1 "what is catch 22 about it?" I'm not going to believe without evidence, but evidence can only be gained through believing (or so you propose, anyway). Look it up; that's a catch-22. "I'd hate to believe that when I died I just didn't exist." You don't like reality, so better to believe in what makes you feel better? That's fine... it's a free country and you can post about how the queen of the fairies is going to smite me, if you like; but don't expect me not to ridicule it.

  • Not all of our forefathers were christian..there is a difference between christianity and "religion"..To be a free nation you need moral leaders who are honest, law abiding so that laws made & upheld are fair for all. (good luck finding a leader like that today). History has shown that corruption & immorality destroys a country, i.e. Roman empire, Greek empire, etc. Fundamentalists means what? You love Jesus too much? Or does that include Mohamed, Buddha, etc? con't:

  • "Congress shall make no law respecting religion, of prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

In other words, pray and worship as you will on your own (the government may not interfere with that), but keep religion completely out of governance. Don't have the government endorse the idea that Christ is the savior, that you must prey to Allah 3 times a day, or that the 10 commandments are anything upon which to base laws.
