  • if ya going to hug / hug dont talk

  • We love HUGS in Marseille too

  • Yeah i know ! not enough hugs ! I'm french and i like hugs a lot ! Thank god, i allways find people to hug at the end...

Or i would defenitly be a serial killer !

  • Wheres my hug... :(, brb off to kill some people

  • hugssssss my dear.....:)

  • I'm also a bit curious about lizpocachai's unaswered question -- do you think it would've been better had you written the sign in french? did you even try it in french ><

  • @AxjionAlesandres French people with "free hugs" signs write them in english as well. So, no.

  • Hugs for you ! :)

  • They hug you because they're like "OMG SEXY GIRL - HECK YES" and then they run off with their friends saying "ohhh did you see, i got to hug that sexy girl hehehehehehehehhehehhe" yep.

  • Lol this made me laugh

  • Can you just zap me an email next time you're handing out free hugs?

  • I think one of the reasons u got more hugs than ur guy friend is b/c girls might just be a little less creepy as a stranger (in general). maybe ppl are thinking " oh wat a sweet young girl asking for hugs" and then for a guy one might think " oh look it's some strange guy asking for hugs? ookk suuuure--yah right! creepy." I don't maybe because girls can GENERALY be more inviting when it comes to random physical contact with a stranger... o__o

like the only thing keeping me from hugging a st

  • Hey pass by my channel when you can!

I started vids not long ago :)

    ~Ocean

  • That's a jolly good point you just stated. I really don't know why we don't hug which might appear like funny as we use to kiss on the cheeks to greet each other. That was seird to me the first time I was hugged when I was in Canada I was feeling like "get off!!!" brrrr hahaha but now I just love it and can't have a single day without ! I think we're just a shy latin people ;) Anyways good job! Cheers

  • YOU WILL TAKE MY CULTURE!! i love this gal

  • I know those two expressions exist, but, for the same reasons you explain, I don't think they're the true equivalent of the word "hug" in English. I'm just sayin'.

  • At 1:36 was a man pushing a car?? How random.

  • I will do Free Hugs in the streets, me too ! x)

    Free Hugs spirit ! <3

  • There actually isn't even a single word expression in French for "hug" in English...

  • @steverodgers57 Yes there is. Une étreinte, un câlin (câlins gratuits !). And the verb has also a translation (longer, though) : serrer quelqu'un dans ses bras. ;D

  • @steverodgers57 "étreinte" with its verb "étreindre". This is a very private move and it's just not appropriate in France except for a couple or a mother and her child, for exemple.

  • I'll hug you if I see you in Paris. I promise.

  • Putain! :P Im from mexico, we hug every day... maybe twice a day haha ... I lived in france for a year and I really missed hugs.... My birthday without hugs sucked BAD!

    any way... Vive la France

  • You're adorable!!!

  • haha c'est dingue beaucoup plus de gens se sont arrêté pour toi. sinon quelle est la marche a suivre pour t’épouser!! lol.

    trop drole j'adore

  • 2:04 are you in front of Kazana?! I love that store!!! Eeeek! I think I remember it because of the brightly colored scarves in the window :-)

  • I love hugs so much ! =^^=

I'm french and canadian so I probably get the passion from my french side and the touchy-feely personnality from my canadian side ;)

I would have hugged both of you !

(Next time you have a free hugs afternoon in paris give a shout to us and I know I would totally join ^^)

  • I'd hug her! ;))

  • @MrPatsgone who wouldn't?!! She's so freaking adorable :D

  • Probably 90% of the french population doesn't know what a hug his, and we can't really translate it with a calin because a calin is longer, se serrer dans les bras would be the best: serrage dans mes bras gratuits!!

  • Awwww so cute :) I want to free hugs with you miss ;)

  • According to your accent and your slenderness you lie, you're french.

  • you actually tried to hug people in France... wow

  • you actually tried to hug people in france... wow

  • Oui! Pourquoi pas plus de hugs en france!

On aurait pour une fois une vrai raison de manifester pourtant!

  • Last summer during the holidays, we (me and my french friends ahah) talked to a few english girls, and as we said goodbye, we came for "faire la bise", so yeah, (false)kissing them on the cheecks, and they were like "no no what are you doing ". And then they gave us a hug, and i feel sooo uncomfortable, cause that's way too intimate for us... i mean i don't really think it is (i love hugging my friends and all, but... that's my friends, not the same), it surprised me though

  • " Free Hugs " are outdone. 5 years ago, if you held a " free hugs " sign, you'd OD on hugs. Then you kept seeing those signs EVERYWHERE. Everyone's just sick of it : / . It's like a meme, it's just overdone.

  • YEAH, you were expecting that all people in the world are hopeless like americans, and will hug you;

BUT NO; YOU WERE WRONG :D

  • Yay for my Free Hugging neighbourhood!! Free hugs in Pars is totally 2007, and dont get mistaken, people, even if french people are bad in English, they know what a "Free Hug" is. People are just too busy to stop and hug, I guess. I'm currently trying to teach my closest friends how hugging changes the world. Lottawork.

  • Reminds me my first time in the states. I didn't want to leave because when you are leaving, everybody wants to hug you! Nobody teaches you to hug in France! I'll always remember my first hug: I had organized a farewell apero (with french wine of course) and this female colleague of mine came straight to me and hugged me without a word! My god!!! What do I do??? Apart from blushing? Where do I put my hands? And... Is that my colleague's boobs I can feel against my chest?? HELP!

    Refreshing video

  • BTW .. he's kind of cute and tiny ;p .. but you're delicious and SOOOO cuute so it's obvious that everyone would like to hug you on and on :)

Please let me know next time you're sharing hugs; I'll be there ;)

    PS : you're brilliant, I like all your video staff, very funny ! .. PUTAINNNN ! ;)

PPS : I'm not parisian but leaving there since years, I'm really a very good "hug bearer" :p

  • Actually, people in France (and Belgium) use to handshake or kiss (I mean, "false-kiss", peck on the cheek, and you do a little "kiss-like" sound) to say hello to people you know (even men to men, for good friends), and finally, kissing is not as much intimate as it is in US...

On the opposite, European rarely hug, that's more intimate for them...

Personnaly, even if we don't say it, we prefer a real hug than a false kiss on the cheek...

Pourquoi je traduis? Elle parle très bien Français! ^^

  • Why not write "calin gratuit" ? Frenchies are Zerrible in englizh.

  • 1 person did not get hugged enough when he was a child

  • HILLARIOUS !

  • Nah my american family in law gives hugs at every meeting and it still makes me uncomfortable..... with my mother in law and brother in law it begins to be ok, but the more the people are "far" from me, the more i can't get used to it. For the story the first time i met my (futur) wife, i wanted to make her the "hello" kiss as we make in France, and she stepped back, frightened like if i was going to rape her.. even if we were introduced by someone and that i wasn't drunk at all.

  • A girl standing in front of the "chicest" sexshop in Paris in one of the "chicest" district... of course you have more hugs ! :)

  • You should try to the same experience in the US with Free Kisses.

  • Les parisiens ont eu un moment "social"... C'est si rare, je te tire mon chapeau rien que pour avoir réussi ce coup là ! :D

  • yay hugs!!! i'm working in japan and totally miss hugs! we don't even get the kisses. just...bowing...not the same.

I was just wondering, how would your success rate be if you wrote the sign in French. :)

  • @lizpocachai yeah!!! I missed hugs soo much :) you have to find people that will give them to you ;)

  • @lizpocachai i think free hugs is the same in french as it is in english, but i could be wrong

  • @lizpocachai : Yeah, No hugs, no bisous in Japan... i know that, Sista' ^^ I live in Tokyo :D

  • You are very cute..i can hug you all my life :)

  • hugs from Hawaii

  • "I got tons of hugs,... I don't know." <-- It's because you're a girl !!

    "[the man's name] wasn't so lucky" <-- "It's because he's a man (and doesn't look attractive !)"

    It's simple as ABC :

    - Men love to hug women.

    - Women like to hug women.

    - Women like to hug beautiful men, but don't like to hug "simple" men (misters nobody).

    - Men don't like to hug men.

I'm against this principle, but this is the way it is... the way mass culture/media has formated the people to be and react.

  • @BigSyke4Sure ...I know! ;D

  • @BigSyke4Sure Not but see they were in the gay quarter of Paris so men *would* hug men...

Also: MiChmski: the marais isn't the best place to get free hugs, try champs de mars.

  • @BigSyke4Sure :D Yes in fact it was pretty obvious she was exactly thinking about it with her silences.

As always, @MiChmski, your video introduce some happiness in my daily life. Thanks !

  • @BigSyke4Sure in anyway, I'm a guy, I'm not that attractive. But I get hugs... Since a cup of years, twice a week near train stations in Lausanne & Sion (Switzerland). And sure, girls (and pretty girls much more then) gets more hugs, but it depends too about the way you feel wearing your sign. Smiling or not, etc.

  • Awesome post! Ha ha.

Michelle, your hug success ratio was way too low. Drive to Torino and try this experiment.

I feel you Mateer (hope I spelled your name right).

  • @bruin619 that could work.... ;) and THANKS for the comment !

  • A comment because you never have comments on youtube video. BTW nice vid :)

  • @cypriendecouty THANKS!! :)

  • i'd hug him !

  • that poor guy :(

  • @Ashiaraa nah, he got some hugs (he was my host brother when I was on exchange here :) )

  • she's so right... French people are in cold relationship. For exemple, when you say hello to someone in subway,it's like an agression.

Hugs each other and life will be better!

  • @m0hdaautra I think part of it is living in a big city but it's true that everyone always seems so STRESSED in Paris -- it felt AMAZING to see people smile and love getting a hug !

  • Yesss i want hugssss

  • @gijoskwam **hug**

  • @MiChmski Thank You (Charlie) ;-))

  • @gijoskwam hugs COULD be a gift on Thank you Charlie!

  • And by the way I'm sending you BIG hugs !!!

    ;)

  • You just rock Michelle ! :D

  • @darealya YOU ROCK yale !
