  • i cant really do this because my feet are too big for the pedal. is there any other way to try this besides buying a longboard?

  • Thats pretty sweet.

What is the spring tension like on your pedal?

    How tight is it?

  • one of the best tuts on this I have seen! when you went from really slow to really fast... wow, ty alot!

  • =D I have the same pedal. But I just cannot set it up right.

  • Those pedals fucking rock. I have them. I drum, and ive played with a couple different pedals, maybe on friends' sets, etc., but these arent too expensive or high profile, and theyre not too bad. I use heel up though, and this makes heel toe not seem that hard....might practice it, i like how it flows really well with more skill. I like your technique, man.

  • is this a long board pedal or just a regular pedal?

  • just regular

  • I have the same pedals but i just can't pull it off....I think my feet are too big

  • i tryed this shit and i can do it

  • Rad dude! I started learning today and I can do it about half as fast as you fairly solidly, using the same pedals as you too :D

  • Why do you play the pedals without shoes? Is it more practical?

  • Not really. I normally play in shoes.

But for heel toe, the whole of my foot takes up the whole of the pedal so if i wear shoes it wouldnt fit. But a lot of drummers do do heel toe with shoes. Personal preference really

  • I find playing without shoes gives a bit more of a free feeling. It also takes away any weight your shoe might have pulling down on your feet.

Personally, I flip flop between with or without. Try both, go without shoes for about a week, then with them for the next week. Stick with whatever feels right for you. =D

  • well, for death metal drumming(heavy duty).axis is the best. for jazz drummer, maybe DW is suitable for them. LOL!

  • pow their goes my ankle

  • well..its hard to compare IC n eliminator..still axis paddle is the best.

    :) . am i right?

btw,im just asking u about tama IC,whether we can do ths heel toe on it or not. with this eliminator,we can adjust the paddle(2 a longer paddle).but IC,we cant adjust it.

    so,what do u think? :)

  • Not really, IC and eliminator are the main comptetitors in Double pedal and are quite different to one another.

And as ive said, ive played on ICs and doing heel toe is nearly impossible for me (but that may be due to not being used to it.)

And there is no "Best" pedal, axis are just renound for being ultimately fast when really they are just lightweight and long enough for heel toe.

  • i have IC's, and theyre pretty damn adjustable, what you can you is remove the toe stopper, then the metal bit in front you can take off and turn upside down, then reattach the chain, which makes the pedal flatter (good for heeltoe, or general fast playing). id recommend playing with a real tight bass drum head, as to get more force on the second strike of the heel toe stroke. peace

  • ohh... good idea..

but,i dont have IC at home..i only have elim.. haha..thnks yeah..

  • we can do ths with tama iron cobra?

    LOL!!

  • really? cos Ive played on IC's and the toe groove on the pedal makes it really hard to do constant Heel-Toe strokes.

Probs cos im used to my eliminators cos i found them quite uncomfortable to play on as normal double pedals. Oh, all down to personal preference

  • is heel toe technique only for doubles...??? please reply

    \m/

  • well the Heel Toe stroke is a double stroke so i would assume so

  • what pearl bass pedal is that?

  • They are Pearl P-122TW Eliminators. Awsome pedals

  • Is it possible to do this with your bass pedal set up as standard?

  • Some questions:

    1. How long have you done heel toe?

    2. Spring tension?

    3. Were your heel on the pedal or have you always done it that way?

  • 1. ive been doing heel toe for just over two months now.

    2. As tight as they go

    3. I normally play heel up but for heel toe i have my heel on the pedal yes

  • Thx.

I have also been doing heel toe for about 2 maybe three months.

My springs are pretty tight, i have tried to loosen them up but then my heel toe suck x)

How fast can you go? I can go about 200-230

  • so, just curious. I heard loose tension was good for speed, but tight for heal toe?

  • loose tension is good for heel down playing but i play heel up and have the same tension

  • That's really good. I really need to teach myself heel toe.

One question though; How do you have your spring tension?

    -Cheers

  • as tight as they can go

    cheers =]

  • thats pretty good man i can never heel toe good
