The singer is actually an EX-Hello! Project (compay produced by Tsunku one of the composers of this game) She's Japanese but grew up in Hawaii, Her name is Ayaka Nigata (Kimura now that she's married)
Do you think that this will ever come out on Wii? Even a port? That would be fun...then I could have it even louder and annoy my family even more... :P
They've done the Karateman song well. Same goes for That's Paradise. But I prefer the Japanese version for that hype yell in the beginning of the song. It sound more masculine and IMO really doesn't really suit the character. Which is why I laughed so hard the first time I heard it XD
you guys are so picky you know the reason the songs got to get changed is beacuse of the english users. I find no problem with them at all yes some of them are emotionless but come on give it a break. they are still good songs and this is from somebody who loves the subs then dubs and the original opening for anime so I think you guys need to back off some.
What about frog hop? It sounds like a realistic old fashioned rock song, while in rhythm tengoku it sounds like a short little boy with a flat but squeaky voice.
Hmm, odd. It doesn't tell you specifically who's singing in the English version. Most likely it's one of those many names under the NOA Treehouse or Special Thanks. I did notice that Christina Peyser (Mona Pizza) is NOT one of them though, so all the voices were probably in-house and primarily localizers whereas the Japanese voices were actual pop singers.
It's something I notice a lot with Nintendo...though Professor Layton was voiced by an authentic British man.
The dub is actually very well done! Do you really think Tsunko of Morning Musume and Hello! Project fame will even PERMIT poor English dubbing?? Not a chance!
And chances are, he didn't even get to take a look at the dub. Once it is brought to the US, the dubbing is no responsibility of the Japanese company.
1: The rain song definably has that "tv opening" sound to it... which actually makes the dub sound even better. It could be used for an 80's show or something.
2: I actually like this girl's singing- I mean, she isn't very "into it", sure, but at least she's on tune? I mean, at least she SOUNDS like a kid.
3: Again, this has a "tv opening" feel to it... even more so that the first one. I guess it's pretty good for an ending, though?
To clarify, the idol IS a little girl so I think the voice is fitting. I didn't actually mean the JP version is bad, I meant that in both versions it sounds like they tried to give it a half-hearted kind of little-girl-singing feeling.
There is one change to the DJ one at the beggining he says hehehe in the japanese version in the english version he says oh yeah other than that its pretty much the same
Actually, from my experience in seeing different videos of the DJ School mini-game, that pattern is different each time you play it. So, really, everything is really unchanged about it.

Not much difference speedFOXSonic, I think. The game I bought was called Rhythm Paradise, and it had pretty much everything from Rhythm Heaven.

I think the Fan Club songs sound nice...except the Yeah Yeah Yeah, and Boom Boom Boom, and the Wonderful (as you noted)
But aside from those blunders, I think it sounds nice...

Yes, leaving the voices for the DJ school unchanged was a wonderful decision, the Japanese voices there are just too awesonme :D.
Most of the English songs aren't too bad actually, it's just the fanclub girl that sings awfully emotionless

Does "Amonei" from the Idol game really mean "I suppose?"

Karate Man: Sounded just fine. Liked the noise that he makes when you hit a barrel
Fan Club 2: Still lacks emotion
Airboarder: Actually not that bad
I should listen to the original JPN tracks.

YAY the two djs didn't change

Why did they need to change the vocal cues for Karate Man? They're the exact same words and they sound so much better in high pitched engrish.
