why do people(americans in particular) ask if that fish can be eaten? HELLO most fishes can eaten duh, it's all about cooking it properly. besides just because it's fish doesnt mean you have to put lemon on it sheesh. americans.

@monas Probably because we (Americans) are so blessed that we (Americans) are spoiled and can choose to only eat the best fish...I totally agree with you...

@TeamSurfinSapo actually most fish are very good if it's done the right way. There are only few fishes in the oceans which should not be eaten because they are poisonous. I've lived with americans before and some of the fishes which they say are not edible for example bonita, they only use that fish for bait. And actually that is a far better tasting fish than some of the ones they do eat. I'll be the chief and show you haha

@victopshot17 We do on shorter rods... with the long surf rods we use a breakaway sinker and throw bait s out and just wait for a hit....

@rippac86 get you an 8-10' surf rod anywhere, pretty much any spinner or open faced reel for 12-50 lb line, string it with braid depending on how big you want to fish, grab you some of those leaders with a spot for 2 hooks and a weight, get some 6/0 circle hooks and a cast net, and some shrimp, walk as far as you can 2nd or 3rd sand bar, and cast.

hey i have a question....i have 80lbs. test braid line that i use for pier fishing and i wanna go fishing to galveston but all the piers are demolished .....thnx to ike. but would it be ok if i used braid for surf fishing? theres not many rocks on the beach and im guessing all the debrees from the houses washed way back into the ocean now. but yeah, is it ok to use braid for surf fishing?

When you net it. Put some berly and some tuna oil in with it. I got 35 little bait fish that way. Every throw you get around 20-40
