but yes, this is based on the experiances of ari folman (the main character, with the beard). the story about the dream his friend has is true, and the majority of the characters talking about their experiences are recordings of interviews he made and then had put to the (beautiful) animation. technically a documentary. except for i think two characters, the friend with the dream and the one in holland, it is all the actual people being interviewed.

I love this film, only problem is every youtube video has attracted a bunch of dicks that couldn't have missed the point more.

Ari Folman isn't making a statement about the 1982 war, rather, the atrocities that happened that made him want to forget it all in the first place.

Killing is killing, doesn't matter who fires the bullet and who the war is between, it's still wrong and in every war both sides always commit wrongful acts.

Great dramatization Documentary, and the idea of doing it in animation..brilliant.

And the talked about "strong scenes" are just as important as the truth, cause there a part of it.

There is no unessecary gory scenes here, but some strong ones.

what happened we accepted the palestinians into Leb as refugees. Then they decided they wanted to attack Israel from Lebanon. We Christians said NO! They then started killing, raping, and kidnapping our people. The Lebanese Army did not intervene because half the army were sympathetic to the palestinians.
