Listen to Valley of the Damned and that may possibly sway your opinion. The thing that ruined their reputation (other than early live performances) was that they became popular from stupid Guitar Hero.

I still like Dragonforce and listen to them on occasion because it's fun music to listen to, but definitely not the best Power Metal out there.
