@kakoru5 The .dmg you need to copy is 6.69GB So I'd say if you have a 500GB Hard Drive or whatever I partitioned it into two and named one Snow Leopard dedicating just 10GB to it which was easily enough.

Also, u didn't address anything about the partitioning whatsoever. My vol. scheme under my partition tab is set to Current. Am I supposed to change that to 1 partition or another number partition? And in my Options tab in that partition setting, it's set to Master Boot Record. In some videos, I've seen others change that to GUID Partition Table. Do I change any of those settings or do I skip all of that like how you've done in this video because I've been confused watching all these vids

Can you please explain how to do this procedure on a Tiger 10.4.11? Under the Erase Tab underneath name, it has a check that says install mac 09 disk driver and goes onto explain directly underneath: Select this option to use this device on a computer running Mac OS 9. This option does not affect Classic. I want to uncheck it but I'm not sure. Do I leave that checked or do I uncheck it?

-All of your files will REMAIN (safe and sound and show up as soon as installation has completed)

-You can use an ipod, works flawlessly

This guide works well with going from Tiger 10.4 to Leopard 10.5 except (for me at least) you need to place the .dmg file not on the desktop. I placed it in documents. Also, for destination drag and drop not from the desktop icon but from the one on the left. This was the only way I got it to work.

Hey, I have a question. How do you mount the dmg or iso to a usb formatted as ntfs? The reason I need to do this is because I want to boot snow leopard in windows 7 so i could install the compatibility drivers. I dont have the mac os x disk or legit snow leopard disk.

Im trying to use ntfs-3g but it doesnt seem to mount. the destination is set to the usb but when i click restore, the destination is gone.

Alright, well it DID work... but unlike his response to another comment, YES, it DOES delete your External Hard Drive. So make sure you copy anything important somewhere safe first.

Yes, I still was able to download Snow Leopard, but it deleted everything on my ex hard drive and replaced it with The Snow Leopard installer.

@IsThisNameGone I have not found the answer yet, but my guess is that I do take the same proceedures, except for the part about rebooting.Instead I take my HDD out and replace it with my SSD and then plug my flash drive in and boot up, then follow the on-screen instructions. That's my guess, and once I get my SSD (In a couple of weeks), I try that.

Instead of using a flash drive or external drive I just partitioned the HDD with a 10GB partition and used that as my install image disk. Then I went to preference, start-up and specifically choose to boot from the newly partitioned install image.

I had the same thing happen to me, if headautomatica88's method did not work try this...

go to "file" and "eject *******" click on that and go back to his instructions and it will work fine, all it did was mounted the source and makes the "resource" in use. Thanks headautomatica88 for this quick tutorial...short and sweet ! just the way i like it

@kandalorian8 I had this problem. Make sure the .dmg file is not mounted in OSX. When you click on the .dmg it will mount as a drive on the desktop, just drag it to the trash to close it.
