  • i just started leasing an OTTB today :)

(since my paint QH recently passed away)

i was a bit nervous but watching how great this TB is comforts me! you two are great!

  • My exracehorse's name is Sid and he jumps too. We're out of the show season though because he got injured. Anyway, it was a great video and your both really good.

  • lol did better than i would have :)

  • aww well done !! i have an ex-racer TB she is lovely if a little zippy and hard work ! lol xx

  • u need to stop pushing ur horse then it would stop knockin crap down

  • you need to work on flying lead changes

  • pretty horse and pretty good equitation. the only thing is that he rushes a lil but thatwill come with time.

  • your horse chaged itz lead over da first jump n den stayed on da wrong lead yhuu shud changed your canter lead as it make da horse unbalanced n cud cause it to slip!!!! da horse front inside leg shud always lead in canter!!!!!!!

  • wow wat a creative name for a horse... NOT lol:P bob... jks cute horse

  • Not bad just keep your hands down and tighten your knees, that's important. Keep him quite and steady before every jump. Last, be sure to jump dirrectly in the center of the jump, this will keep his rythym going.

  • yah shes right... and head to the middle more not so much on the side DX

  • Seriously though ur not doing anything with your leg it just stays there you need to bring your leg back

  • Did you seriously just tell her to slide her lower leg back over fences?!

  • use your legs!!! u have got to use your legs to tell position your horse over the jumps!! look straight ahead of the jumps then thats where ull go and ur pumping a little to much... but other wise good 2-point

  • you are not very good at jumping are you?

  • lmao

  • you know what? you really don't need to comment like that. she wanted to put up her video and so she did. People dont just come out riding perfectly like you. seriously, it's not that hard to be nice. you should try it sometime.

  • I am sorry my daughter wrote this. I thought I had taught her better. I am just happy staying on top of my horse. You do have talent! Rebecca Colorado

  • look at the middle of the jump... and then you will jump in the middle... leg aids will also contribute largely to this. good two-point position, nice horse. check out my vids

  • your pushing your hands back and forth dont do that but other than that good jumping

  • ok the "weird thing" with her arms is where her horse is slow she is pumping him wiht her seat to make him go faster, which also makes you move your arms in a akward way...

  • the one thing i can say is you do this weird thing with ur arms my friend does it too i took a clinic with Eric Horgan and he said that when ppl do that they're trying to push the horse forward in the canter and make them go faster by using their arms he said it like that but otherwise u look good

  • you are pretty good...watch those canter leads tho =D

  • wow hes gorgeous :D

  • you are a good jumper and have a good seat :]

  • also same thing as the other girl he does drift... but get your hands down they are to high in the air

  • Yeah like wha the other girl said really work on getting him to quit drifting to the right he did it on every jump. My advice is to get a skinny jump like set out a hay bale and make him go over it and walk trot canter that helps to get straighter also try opening left rein and holding right leg on tight and you will be getting to every jump straight hope i helped.

  • Cute! he has a right drift to the jumps...when he leaves the ground try a little opening left rein and right leg to get him to the middle.

  • Oh I feel like that was me up their? haha I have a 13 year old Tb 16.2 and when we jump he has a powerfull lope to the jump and somtimes he'll stop suddenly and throw me over him, he getting better :D

  • It's not the horse's fault, you're probably just jumping ahead of him. And it's called a CANTER, not a LOPE.

  • You're an awesome rider. There were a few quirks, but very good for being out of shape :)

  • You should go back to basics. Do a couple of lessons just flatting working on flying lead changes, leg yeilding, and steering. Then try to do a simpler course at half the height. You gotta walk before you can run. O, and listen to better music, Fall Out Boy has a tendency to suck.

  • and you should go back to grammar 101.

  • you should probally collect him more and tuck his head a little instead of letting it string out so much

  • you need to get him in the centre of the jump

  • nice looks like fun are you an eventer?

  • looks like ur horse has a right drift - he doesnt jump in the centre of the jump alot of the time .. keep heapsa right leg on coming into the jump or else ur gunna take out sum wings, other than that it was great :D

  • You should have done a simple change rather than turning the corner and taking the jump on the wrong lead, but I do understand that he is out of practice as you said. Just count your distances, some of them were a little iffy.

  • i thought you guys looked awesome i know what its like to work with a horse that needs more urging than the usal my arab is like that great round if this is rusty i would love to see you in shape! lol

  • thats really good but watch your rhythem into your jumps

  • Good round =D. I have a TB who is an exracehorse, though he just turned 11 I am having to teach him all the basics, which is pretty normal with off the track TB's.

Did your TB know how to hold his head when you got him

or did you teach him that. That's what Im working on right now because he's all head and no back muscle. Well you two are doing great, keep up the good work =D.

  • Both of the OTTBs I have worked with did not know much when they began training. The first one, Zephyr, took over a year till his flat work was consistent and he went on the bit. The one above - Bob - was a horse I leased who had been retrained by another person but was out of shape (why they were willing to free lease him).

  • yay for jumping :D
