  • I love that long forestock. Does that qualify as a "Mannlicher?"

  • My dad (who was in Vietnam) had this rifle(not during the war but later on)

  • Just to point out. British soldiers were trained to pull the bolt back whilst still looking down the sights, this way you don't have to take your eye off the target.

  • Still a good,useful and accurate rifle.

  • I have a 1945 No.4 Mk.1 Longbranch Enfield. It's the Canadian Version of the Lee Enfield. Still basically the same gun. 10 round drop mag + 1 in the chamber is 11. Got a safety on it that makes the bolt lock down & makes the trigger dead.

Has a 300 & 600 yard Peep Hole Sight on it, that flips back & forth...

Over all, it's an EXCELLENT gun!!! Very accurate, smooth action provides fast follow up shots...

I recommend everyone go out & get one...

  • @MoNKeySpaNk1989 Also I paid only $200 USD for it at a local Gun & Pawn.

  • "Some things, i mean you can't compete with Wal-Mart"...

  • Lee Enfields are such nice guns and I want to buy one so me and my Dad could shoot it. Could you please tell me how much they cost . Thank You.

  • Gun vendor was not helpful at all

  • number 3 actually in the top ten thing

  • "somethings you just cant compete with walmart"

  • @silentj005 THEY TOOK OUR JOBS!!!!

  • @silentj005 BAAAAAAAAAAHhahaaaaa oh man

  • What is the advantage of the No.4 MK2's trigger being on the receiver? Isn't that the only difference between the No.4 MK1 and the No.4 MK2?

  • Anyone realized that the Enfield has been with the British service in almost 3 centuries?

  • @ColonelGhostman - Not the same Enfield. There have been numerous rifles named 'Enfield' over the years, just as there are many American rifles dubbed 'Springfield', but they are not all the same rifle as the 1903 Springfield or such.

  • Number 3 not 4 on the top battle rifles.

  • He sure does not know how to shoot offhand.

  • last night at cadet we fired a lee enfield 8 22 from prone and it wrecked you arm from 25 yrds it had no kick in it either

  • didnt canada use those rifles? sorry if im wrong not 100% sure. please corect me if im wrong.

  • @ThatKidFromVancouver Yeah, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and a few other countries used the Lee Enfield. Great rifle. I own one built in Canada in '44. Some consider it to be the fastest bolt action battle rife ever built. I will fire it, and then keeping the rife against my shoulder and still sighting down the barrel, the only part of me to move is my right hand to work the action and load the next round. The bold action itself is very slick and fast.

  • @ThatKidFromVancouver yes i believe that they did. they hated the Ross so they used the Enfield although im not too sure if it was the MK4 or MK3

  • @ThatKidFromVancouver they did use Enfields, but Im not too sure if it was the MK4 or MK3.

  • @ThatKidFromVancouver Who cares

  • LOVE the stocks on this one! gorgeous!

  • Everyone that has made a video about Lee-Enfield rifles try to reload as fast as they can. But that's the coolest thing about those rifles! enjoy the smooth reload instead of throwing that bolt action around like it's going to explode if you don't do it fast enough.

  • how much would one of these cost?

And would you recommend a mauser 98k or this?

  • @CurryCobra found one for $360

  • @roflcoppter111 Ripped the fuck offfffff I Paid 300 flat!

  • A strange looking kitchen

  • Nice, my uncle bought one that was made during the lend lease to Britain during WWII. It says Savage and made in U.S.A on it. He bought it from some idiot who didn't know what he was selling for $400

  • @porsh24 $400 is actually quite a bit for an Enfield. Alot of them go for around $250-$300

  • @FullTiIt The rifle is worth a lot more, it is an original that was made in the U.S during our lend lease to britain

  • @porsh24 We made a ton of Enfields for England during the war. All Enfields marked No4 Mk1* are the Savage made ones. The No4 Mk1 and No4 Mk2 were made in England and Australia and other British colonies. There's literally millions of Enfields still around - including the Savage made Mk1* - Any Enfield should only cost ~$300, if it's more than that it better be in spectacular condition.

  • this guy looks like a tool

  • Never seen people shoot without a cheek weld.

  • Awesome rifle, slick, easy to use, nicely balanced & smooth to shoot. Made in a time when British engineering was up to a standard, not down to a price. No wonder a 7.62mm sniper version (L42A1) which served as late as 1985 was derived from the No4. Definitely right up there on my wish list.

  • how does she no how to shoot but not how to use bolt action

  • @n2488 Never mind that, What is she doing out of the kitchen?

  • was also used by canadians in ww2 and korea.

  • @kgmetcalfe australians also, good bunch!!!!!

  • LOL at the redneck chatting "sometimes you just can't compete with Wal-mart"

    herp derp derp

  • awesome rifle but id take a mauser or a nagant over it in combat anyday

  • @148scalemodeling i just find them to be better rifle it is my opinion and i reall dont know why the enfield is at no4 the masuer was rebolutionary

  • I wonder if he can see the target with his cap...

  • and ww1 to

  • @littledutchboy1996 this model of the lee enfield wasn't used in WW1.

  • i agree with u mindeloman. i wonder if he is even hitting the target. hoorah

  • the rifle that was in discovery they had the lee enfield SMLE not the mk1.!

  • Girls are made for love not war. Could somebody hold my rifle please...?

  • 1:20 wow what a beautiful woman firing a Lee Enfield

  • Thumbs up if you play Call Of Duty (2)!

  • @steamserver132 lol no one thumbs up ur comment.

  • @gartios11 Yeah maybe but not so old comment

  • @steamserver132 thumbs up if your a dickhead..... 1 million thumbs up.

  • @jnncbuhyc Omfg you kids shouldn't got a youtube account.. fucking stupid kids.. get a life and stop comment shit -.-

  • i have one with a weatherbee stalk :)

  • @jakeman121acdc Yes, 30 rounds in a minute was more than possible with the SMLE and the No.4 Lee-Enfield. British tommies were trained in the "mad minute"- 25 or more aimed shots in one minute. Sgt Snoxall of the Small Arms School fired 37 aimed shots with an SMLE, all of which were in the 10-ring of a standard target at 200 yards range. The speed of the Enfield action is no bull. This rifle is capable of incredible things in the right hands.

  • Thank you for a great review of this British made rifle. It looks very powerful for the time it was manufactured.

  • fuck yeahhhh :D guns goin off in the background (american shite probs) then the BIG DOG

  • @david8287878787878 go shoot an AMERICA 45/ 70 and see how much of a big dog it is, or a 30-06, or even a 338

  • World war 1 and two.

  • 30 rounds in less then a minute yeah and im superman

  • @jakeman121acdc That number is astounding but it's the truth. I've tried it numerous times with my #4 but I've never made it. I usually get hung-up on the stripper clips. The old-school boys reall knew how to shoot and were true artisans

  • It was Number 3 on their list matey.

  • "I figure you just cant wrap everything around walmart" lol

  • it was number 3 jack ass

  • The British were able to shoot 30 rounds in one Minute... a good Marksmen would be able to hit thirty Targets in a minute if they are that good.

  • who said it looked like a mosin?

  • I Love my Lee-Enfield. Alot of people dont realise what a great rifle they are!

  • I have a 1942 model. bayonet and all. use it for deer season every year. great rifle.

  • I loaded held one of these at an RAF airshow, they had this along with the L1A1, L85 and AK47 on display (I think the AK was a know your enemies weapon thing), the bolt on the one they had there was a nightmare when I tried to push it forward the thing jammed so i had to bash it forward.

Still I do love the look of the Lee Enfield rifle.

  • this is my gun when i play hidden&dangerous2

  • the gun is really smooth, but it has one bastard of a caliber...

  • nice one mate, perfect control of the weapon

  • awsome rifle, I'll buy when as soon as I get my ahnds on a class 1 firearms certificate, my grandad still has his from when he was issued it in 1939!

  • i got one of them but its de-acivated :(

  • 30 rounds a minute.... a shot every 2 seconds :O

  • @nintendocrew yea man check out the "mad minute" it pretty crazy sounds like a vicker's dumping a belt. the germans thought it was a machine gun back in the day.

  • @nintendocrew oo yea and there a way to fire it so when you throw the bolt down your middle finger falls on the trigger they say in a phaplet from ww2 that i have you get 10 rounds in 12 sec's from the HIP it's for trench clearing. screw trying that thou never shot hi power rifle from the hip.

  • The No. 4 Mk.1 was a refinement of the No.1 series. The No. 1 began production before WWI and ran up to 1939 in the UK, later in Australian and Indian manufacture. The No. 4 Mk. 1 was produced between 1939 and 1946 in UK, American and Canadian factories. The No. 1 series can be readily recognized by the blunt muzzle look as the stock ran all the way to the end of the barrel. The No.4 series has approximately 4 inches of the barrel exposed.

  • cant compete with walmarts prices, ha, and the m1 garand was rated number 4, not the lee enfield, damn brits

  • Just to say the discovery channel put this at Number 3 not number 4. Perhaps you said 4 because its the No.4 MK1

  • Just to say the Discovery chanel put the Lee Enfield at 3rd place not 4th =)

  • You're not getting a consistent cheek to stock weld.

  • The Canadians used this in ww1

  • @THbushcraft Nope That Would Be The No.1 Mk3 SMLE

  • @THbushcraft

Not really, the Canadians used the Ross rifle, but they did not like it, so they often took the Lee-enfield of dead British soldier.

But in WW2, they did use it as their main rifle.

  • im all for the lee enfield but my favorite is the no.1 mk.3

  • same here in texas u can get a shit load of guns at gun shows and stores its great.

  • @QVrat123 dont get me wrong i love the m1 garand as a weapon but this is way more flexible it is still in use all over the world

    even on afghanistan

the power accuracy durability and for a bolt action rate of fire are some of the best of any weapon

this was the best rifle of wwii

and lets not forget in wwi america made copies of it for their troops...

  • 1843!?!? no how about some time in the 1900'scuz du britz used them threw wwi and wwii

  • @Toria8796 dumbfuck he said 1943

  • @Toria8796

Do this more than five rounds, while only five Mosin.

And besides Mosin recharged harder and longer.

  • Apart from the M1 Garand perhaps the best WWII rifle

  • I live in enfield and the factory where these were made is now a museum :P

  • theres no rifle like the enfield

  • Go Canada

    no firearms tax

god i love being Canadian :)

  • @Litterboxer529 yea but the US has more relaxed gun laws :) haha

  • @kpo1303 unfortunatly yes. :(. but the murder/crime rates in the US are 10X higher.

  • @Litterboxer529, It is hardly related to number of guns. Brazil has a bigger problem (10xhigher) and fewer guns. Oh and have you heard of Mexico??

  • Does the phrase "cheek weld" mean anything to anyone.

  • it was number 3 on thier list

  • over 50 years old and still a very smooth action, amazing rifle. My grandfather used the carbine version in Burma in

    ww2

  • I thought firearms were banned in the UK, I live in Pennsylvania where you can walk in and out of a gun shop in 15-30mins with a quality rifle for under $300.

  • @Yachera Damn, I want to live in Pennsylvania :D Or just visit it, I live in sweden btw. Im really instrested in weapons, especially weapons from WW2. Kinda hard to persuit that hobby in sweden...

  • @Fonzidaboy You never know there were some battles between Russia and your country awhile back, you could end up finding one out in the country side. visit the states, come to one of the Universitys here, enjoy some of our freedoms.

  • @Yachera It's hard to believe my shitty state(Maryland) with it's terribly ridiculous liberal-run guns laws even geographically touches yours

  • @j5689 You have to be able to get a bolt-action at least?

  • @Yachera Oh yeah, we can buy them, we just have stupid restrictions like on other stuff like 20 rd mag maximum and "assault weapons" ban because the liberals are so silly and stupid that they actually think that's going to stop the bad people from acquiring whatever they want anyway. We're also one of only ten May Issue states for CCWs(being worked on though), and coincidentally we have much higher crime rates than any state that touches us. Don't even get me started on the self defense laws.

  • @j5689 Man if you hate your laws, take a look at Kennesaw, Georgia. They have a law that requires every house hold to own at least one firearm, locked and loaded of course. They passed that law in 1989( I think) they're crime dropped 80% since then and had a population boom of the thousands. I was thinking about moving down there once I graduate college and enter Law Enforcement.

  • @UKkid19 really I saw one at a local shop below $150

  • first gun i ever shot other than .22 at 300 yrd target without scope man i love it dead accuarte!!

  • This guy's form is almost painful to watch. Nice rifle though. Too bad it's not in the hands of a rifleman.

  • @mindeloman what's wrong with his form?

  • @enigmedic Where to begin? There's not enough space to write. I must say, the girl at the end had slightly better form than the guy and she is a complete beginner without bad habits hampering her. Just goes to show how bad habits can follow you unless you correct them from the beginning. If you really want to know I can PM you all the details.

  • @mindeloman Please PM me all the details, thatd be really awesome.

  • didn't put the iron sights up then...

  • i was number 3 best rifles

  • Lovely rifle to shoot!

I shot a rifle last december 22nd, it wasn't zeroed in but I still managed to get the bullet on the target! Pure weapon of magnificence!!

  • 103 years old and still one of the best rifles ever in history!

  • @MrSoprano0125 yeh... hey mixdown13 wants to speak to you but says youve blocked her?

  • no I havn't

  • Comment removed

  • best rifle ever

  • The .303 Lee Enfield has got to be one of the greatest rifles in history, since it is still today a favorate of sport hunters and freedom fighters arond the world.

All this and it was first used over 90 years ago!!!

  • this is without a doubt the best rifle to come out of britain

  • i thought it had more recoil than this

  • im gonna use one of these for deer hunting this year

  • amazing rifle!

  • Dude, play less call of duty, it looks nothing like a mosin nagant

  • @GLyddonable plus it's a full .26mm difference in caliber. 7.7x56mm or .303, as compared to 7.92x57. in otherwords, a larger catridge, and plus, the lee enfield may have similar workings, but when it comes down to it, it's fairly easy to destinguish the two

  • @GLyddonable It looks more like a M1 Garand lol

  • @GLyddonable l;ol ikr.....i own both....what an idiot

  • Nice rifle man...great find. I would love to have one of these, and a Mosin Nagant. Thanks for posting.

  • Doesn't *look* like you can do a lot more, bubba.

Sheeeit, you need to travel back in time and teach them professional British soldiers what to do, hyuh-hyuh.

  • Very stable gun, easy to control recoil.

Accurate,it's a must have for bolt action rifles fans.

  • with sniper sight good for a mile

  • u obviusly don't know alot about this gun

  • really, look up

    enfield no4. mk1-T

    you might suprise yourself...

  • Well some of the furthest shooting rifles don't use .50 caliber bullets. The current record holder is the .408 Chey Tac.

  • And what record is that you are talking about? because it certainly is not furthest kill on either human or animal...and the .408 doesn't have any competition records yet....

  • It holds the record for groups.

The CheyTac M-200 holds the world record for best group at a distance, landing 3 bullets within 16-5/8 inches (42.2 cm) at 2321 yards (2122 m) near Arco in Idaho.

  • 30 caliber rounds have a max range of 1000 to 1200 yards, thats 3,000 to 3600 feet not even close to a mile! and sniper sight HA! mean scope!

  • 1760 yards is a mile. so figure 2/3 of a mile damn where can i find your math teacher so i can slap him in the face?

  • I have a No. 1 MK3 and I love it.

  • To shoot a SMLE fast, keep the butt into your shoulder [eyes on target] while you work the bolt. Do it this way and you can make aimed shots at pretty much the same speed as a semi-auto 7.62 FN/SLR. Heard at a distance, their shots make ringing thud sound - very distinctive. For the No 4, search for the micrometer sight featured in this video and swap it for the more common two-setting battle sight. They all respond well to handloading - try 180 grain Sierras. Great piece of kit!!!!

  • pretty cool

thats the weirdest sounding gun i've ever heard though, not loud at all

  • listen to a mk 5 lee enfield - its deafening

  • @musicismyaspirin trust me they are alot louder in person

  • i want one sooo bad

  • i got one and i thought it was #3 on the top ten list did he get it wrong?

  • Second best bolt action ever...Best is the No1! ;)

Nice video, btw I have one of each :P

  • The smle was number 3, not 4 ;)

  • The number 4 was the M1 Garand

  • Damn he has had a lot of practice with the bolt action

  • the police here still use this rifle

  • It's a good gun, if this would be semi auto, it'd be awesome

  • Man, what capacity and smooth action.

  • 1:20

"Sorry Boys but nobody will buy this rifle unless a hot girl is using it"

  • If thats true then how come german isn't the language of America?

  • Could you please explain your statement that in war time the British are commonwealth. I'm not pissed or anythting but I think your point are rather outlandish. And Americans are pretty much British, well alot of them are minus the German spanish French Itallian blood you have.

  • Germans were the biggest group too come to the U.S.A from 1620-1984.The Irish are another group that came in large numbers.

  • Love the action on these rifles

i have one with no wood on the top of the barrel and a scope...hits wonderful

  • beautiful rifle ♥

  • ITS NO 3 ON THE TOP TEN COMBAT RIFLES!
