He was also in a pretty incredible digitally-enhanced commercial for Volkswagen — I think it was a GTI commercial. The producers matched the set, the lighting and everything to Gene Kelly's famous street dance in "Singin' in the Rain," then had David Elsewhere perform wearing the same suit, same costume as Gene Kelly — then they digitally grafted Gene's head onto David's body. Looks like Gene Kelly melting down. Beautiful commercial.

Elsewhere is more properly known as a "meltdown artist"... And, yes, he was a lot better when he was younger, because his body was still strong and tight when he was a kid. If he tried some of those moves today, it would rip the ligaments out of his knees. Lotta strength, lotta power in his moves. That's what is deceptive. His whole body is actually TENSE when he's doing this, not loose.

A bit of trivia....Dave was in two major commercials that only featured his legs. The upper body was super imposed with 'models'. One was the Pepsi Samba commercial, the other was a Super Bowl commercial for Levi's Fly Weight Jeans....directed by Spike Jonze (Where the Wild Things Are/ MTV's Jackass).

The real thing I love about his style more than other people's is his pulling off moves in positions you would think he'd be done in (i.e. 2:36). My only real complaint with him is that we end up seeing the same moves many times. I suppose that's inevitable though.
