  • If God exist and is fair, he would not make people suffer infinite punishment for finite bad deeds. He would not reward them with infinite reward for finite good deeds. When you come to think about it, there are only 2 solutions in Christianity: absolute infinite best, or absolute infinite worst for all the ranges of humans. Thats why I believe in Buddhist teachings now..reward or punishment according to a deed, for some time until you pay back, without asking you to blindly trust some unseen God

  • @ddd7bbb Good point. The problem is that your frame of reference is "man centered". God's perspective is so much different. He does provide a plan for us, but it is HIS plan, HIS way of thinking, not ours. It's easy not to like it - most criminals don't like their judges! If you can sum up the courage to investigate HIS perspective (despite not liking it), it does make sense & is good. He will reveal himself when you are open to it. (I lived in a Buddhist country 9 years. It was oppressive!)

  • @alyosha24601 There is such and such God because Bible says so, Bible is right because it says there that God says Bible is right. Whoever thinks differently is wrong on the basis of contradicting with Bible. When something seems fishy then we don't understand God's plan and should have trust, we should "have faith"..then it is said to be even more rewarded. It can work that way, but that can also work for whatever..be it Islam, Hinduism, Scientology, Communism. It's a closed circle.

  • I don't see a problem with Christ example, moral and love for all people. That's perfect, and that's what brings people to Christianity. Nor do I think there is anything wrong in following Christian teaching in leading yourself. But I don't see any good in trying to make people act certain way by scaring them(your left hand should not know what right does..), and opposing religions basically saying that you're safe as long as you're "a supporter of our football team"(church),and they all say it

  • @ddd7bbb This subject has a special interest for me because I became a Christian based on the fear of hell. At 12 I just wanted to know what happened to people when they die. I concluded hell was an option and sought God instead. That choice rescued my whole life. I see this subject as a good thing, not that it icites fear, but that it reveals danger. When the doctor tells you you'll die if you keep smoking, I see that as a good thing. God wants us to accept his plan and avoid this place. No?

  • @ddd7bbb The biblical reasoning is different from our own because it is not based on "fairness", but rather "justice and mercy". According to the Bible, all are "bad". We like to compare ourselves with Hitler however, so we don't see ourselves this way. Hell results from the necessity of justice, not for finite deeds, but for what we ARE. BTW, I lived in a Buddhist country for nine years. I will say that westerners have an extremely "romantic" notion about "peaceful" Buddhism. I'm glad I'm back!

  • The subject of hell lies at the very edge of our perception, and science can't get to it at all. Still, there are so many many anecdotal accounts occurring just at the moment of death, in addition to a few very detailed accounts from near death experiences. The biblical account matches these descriptions. I even have a friend whose cousin's father-in-law asked for his relatives to put out a "fire" in his hospital room that he saw the very moment he died! I believe hell is real; can't prove it!

  • @ddd7bbb you said you believe in buddihst and not christianty, but the bible has correctly predicted the future, wars, natural disasters, miracles, famines ,droughts, now what do you think

  • The idea that it is permanent seems questionable to me. Maybe, but, then there is no real learning experience in it...is there? You may say, well, the Bible teaches this though, so that is their warning...maybe...but, also for most of us these are just ideas and concepts with no real reality in them. Therefore, maybe some people require a taste of it...Theresa of Avila claimed to have experienced it directly in this way. Anyway, our everyday hells we create seem to be enough to correct us.

  • THATS WHERE ALL THE RELIGIOUS PEOPLE WILL GO WHEN GOD GETS TIRED OF ALL THAT ASS KISSING!

  • @igratkransy YEP, SURELY YOU'RE RIGHT. HE LIKES IT WHEN PEOPLE MAKE FUN OF HIM AND SPIT IN HIS FACE! YEP, THAT'S WHAT GOD RESPECTS!

  • @agreenjinjo says: "you forgot "hell is imaginary" " No, you mean "you HOPE hell is imaginary! Imagine finding out it is not! (scream here)

Why do those reports from Near Death Experiences agree so perfectly!? But yes, I'm sure it is imaginary. I'm sure you can do whatever you like here on earth, because you are sure there will be no justice afterwards. So try not to think about it. Live for fun now, and find out about eternity later! Ha ha ha! (scream again!)

  • you forgot "hell is imaginary"

  • @agreenjinjo You speak with an awful lot of authority considering your knowledge is limited to the surface of one little planet. No, this is your religious belief - humans cannot know for sure till that all-important one second after death. I hope you're right!
