  • So true about Lucille Ball. As funny and hilarious as she was on her various programs, she was an extremely outstanding game player.

  • Lucy seems reserved here. Yes, Kirstie before divorce, mid life, eating too much and Scientology turned her into a nutcase. She looked better with dark hair instead of the current bad bleach job.

  • Huh, so that is what she looked like before Scientology turned her in to the monster we all know today!

  • @RadioPaul1 your an a--hole radiopaul...

  • she always had very pretty eyes

  • Kirstie was also on Match Game -using the same occupation "interior decorator".

  • Kirstie was also on an episode of "Match Game."

  • @expoboy52 Also, by coincidence, Dick Martin was on the panel the time she was on there.

  • I STILL LOVE LUCY!!!

  • Pretty crazy how just from this clip you can see Kirstie's IT FACTOR.

  • Like having cats is a bad thing haha

  • That young lady on the left, no offence, but is quite daft, and annoying.

  • That is Kirstie all right, very beautiful, same humour.

  • Now Kirstie is a FAT PIG.

  • Back when TV was FUN to watch!

  • Wonder how did i missed this. I always love to watch Lucy play passwords.

  • Cool to see Kirstie before she started her acting career. Did anyone notice she introduces her as an interior designer.

  • @MrTeddEbare cause she is

  • Well, did she win?

  • @sdjimbob i'm pretty sure she didn't (rest of it used to be up on youtube), but she came close and was beholden to whoever her partner was at that point.

  • Scientology systematically robs a person of his ability to question things. In Scientology, they tell you, "If it's true for you, then it's true," resulting in objective reality becoming sort of fuzzy as it is based on whatever you believe. Over time, your beliefs are systematically supplanted with the beliefs that they instill in you through training drills.

In essence, Scientology's pseudo-philosophy is that 2+2 = whatever you want it to be.

  • lucy is dumb lol if its not in A SCRIPT SHE CANT THINK LOL ~ ~

  • fascinating clip to see Lucy has passed on and Kirstie is now a fat slob.

  • Kirstie was so skinny then, as were we all back in our 20s

  • Wow. It seems Kirsty was a regular on the game show circuit. She was also on Matchgame.

  • LOL, she's a very pretty actress and I think one of those genuinely funny people. Also, love the big hair--lol, gotta love the hair...next to her witty sense of humor, its her other best quality. Also, regarding Lucy being drunk or not in this clip, its very hard to tell unless you're an alcoholic yourself or have experience around those who were or are. Many alcoholics are highly functional and unfortunately can elude detection by all visual clues. Not everyone slurs, stumbles or acts drunk.

  • Anyone know what year this is from?

  • I have a feeling the gameshow was a fix. her answer to bonanza earlier is one of the of the answers on the board. cartwright, as if she was told it would be one of the answers and guessed it in the wrong place.

  • I wonder how did Kirstie Allen get into show business from there, she did really good though.

  • @sdseals2076 That's a good question. Alan Ludden died in 1981. So, this was made before then (probably mid 70's). Cheers started in about 1982, and Kirstie showed up in 1987. She didn't marry Parker Stevenson of Hardy Boys fame until 1983. So, it was probably in 1982 when she did Star Trek 2 is when she got into show business, but I'm not sure.

  • @sdseals2076 Wait! I'm sure I'm completely wrong! I'll bet I know how Kirstie got her start. She made it a point to be on a bunch of game shows from the 70's, and I'd like to know how she did it. I'd love to be able to do that. Type this in because she's on Match Game. Type in Match Game SYN - Part 1. How do people get on TV shows anyway?????

  • Lucy was sharp as a tack. My wife was within breathing space--no liquor. NONE. Zero.

Lucy was also sweet as can be. Friendly, unpretentious, bright, and gracious, a real class act.

And she did not go around saying that great old ladies were drunk, in order to mine a cheap laugh.

Or maybe as an excuse for why she went home with nothing but three case of Mr. Bubble.

  • I was present when this was filmed.

Kirstie flat out lied in saying that Lucy was drunk. My wife was the "partner" (In English we say, "opponent") some idiots here have said was slow. So we saw Lucy for four "days" (actually two tapings).

Yeah, my slow wife won $6,400, most of it in a 48-second Alphabetics with Lucy. Kirstie lost immediately and went home with about 300, which she spent on bonbons and Scientology.

  • OMG..........It's rosanne a dan a dan a danna!

  • Kirstie is gorgeous????? WHAAAAATTTT??? She was a "plain jane" at best and usually she, as she is here, looks like she just rolled out of bed! :-0

  • Kirstie is a very good player

  • wow skinny back then

  • I don't see how Kirstie was ever selected as a game show contestant. Both here and on Match Game, she comes across as a stuck up bitch. Not likable at all.

  • Kirstie was so beautiful, well actually she still is.

  • Wow Ms Ball and kirstie together!!!

  • i love kirstie alley! shes soo gorgeous! she was soo young on here! wow!

  • i love how lucy's partner drags her words out like thats going to help any! lol

  • Lucille Ball :)

  • Interesting -- she played against Dick Martin in the Match Game she did, too!

  • Kirstie is soooooo smart

  • Truly nostalgia

    The late Lu B.

And also C.A. you're the right girl.

  • Dick is very mindful. He knew the "family tree" question, but realized Kristie already said part of it and wanted her to answer. That's a real man there that we hardly see in 2010.

  • man, i thought exactly the same thing. kinda cool, yeah, of dick? i think he and dan rowan both had class.

  • Two words: LOVE. HER.

  • Kirsty allie on Password plus...Kirstie allie was on a match game...! Interesting how did she get both shows? luck?,,

  • @badumpy NO LOOKS

  • I'm not so sure it's luck. Some people make a lot of effort trying to get on game shows, or at least they did back then when there were so many on TV. And with them being on every day, the odds were every once in a while you'd score and get on one. There's a guy who when by "M.J." who was on Pyramid in the late '80s. He was a big winner on that show. A couple years ago I saw a rerun of Super Password and that same guy was on there, too. He also wound up winning the big money there as well.

  • alan died soon thereafter...

  • For the word chart I was thinking graph.

  • Kirstie is extremely self assured

  • What did Dick mean by saying "You're not allowed to say that on television" ?

  • diaphram

  • Diaphram.

  • I think Kristie Alley was like 29 years old at that time.

  • I wonder if Dick Martin recognized Kirstie from when she was contestant on Match Game PM a few months earlier. He was one of the "stars" on the panel.

  • no wonder she fell for the scientology bullshit; she is REALLY rubbish at this, and seems quite dumb, even if she is one of the most beautiful women in history.

well, WAS one of the most beautiful women anyway.

she still looks nice(-ish), but is very fat these days.

  • How is she really bad at this? She was either the best or second best behind Lucy, and her partner was clueless. Do you know how this game works? The idea is to guess the right answer or give good clues, which she did.

  • well, she did get better, but the first half she just didnt have a clue

  • This is quite old if Kirstie was skinny and hot. I don't mind thick women, but she became a blimp.

  • I like how Dick is always saying "Good Girl!". Even to the opposing team. I wonder if he was a pedophile. Little girl! Want some candy?

  • How is that Kirstie Alley was on the Match Game and this show as a contestant.. did she have an "in" in Hollywood before she got her big break?

  • I wonder if she had an agent after she came to Hollyweird and the agent got her on game shows as a way to get her "on film" and to be seen. It never hurts to be able to win a little money as well.

  • Wow Lucy didn't need to do dumb shows like this. What a trooper. 70 years old and she must have had millions in the bank. I guess she loved working.

  • Lucy enjoyed the show and may have even played at home with the kids.

  • It's great to see this clip of Lucy. I tuned in the watch Kirstie but Lucy steals the show. She was always so competitive on the games shows and in life. But, she was great in everything. Kirstie is great too. She needs her own talk show. Women can relate to Kirstie. Plus, she is hilarious, smart and beautiful.

  • kirstie is hot as hell here!

  • @ladylike1980 Kirstie Alley is smart? lmao you must be kidding. she thinks AIDS doesn't exist and that we all have alien souls clinging to our bodies among other things. she is bat shit stupid.

  • @ladylike1980

Oh really, well then you are really going to think all Christians are batship. The Bible NEVER mentions dinosuars - not ONCE, even though it was written at the time Christians believe Jesus was being chased by T-REX. The bible mentions dogs, lions, birds, snakes - every other animals - BUT NOT Dinosaurs.

    Christians DON'T believe in evolution.

Don't believe in other planets - the people who wrote the bible didn't know their existence.

    The believe in FAIRYTALES!

  • @ladylike1980 that's got nothing to do with kirstie allly being an idiot.

  • all that guessing for 200 dollars? lol

  • Money is money

  • True.

  • I saw a "Match Game" episode.

    Kirstie Alley was the contestant

and Dick martin was one of the celebrities !

  • I <3 Allen

  • kirstie had some "ovaries" accusing lucy of being "a little drunk." first of all, i don't see it. in retrospect, she should learn not to knock people that might not be perfect at any given time. lucy is and will always be infamous. she is a LEGEND. dont mean to be mean, but what will kirstie be remembered for? perhaps she should work on herself, gain some confindence and refrain from knocking people like LUCY.

  • Kirstie told David Letterman on his show that Lucy was "a little drunk" when she did Password with her. This was in 1987 before Lucy was even deceased. I love Kirstie but I thought that was a little low of her to say that. She seemed perfectly sober to me here.

  • LUCILLE BALL WHOOOO

  • She was on Match Game as well

  • always thought kirstie alley was sexy (*shrugs* sue me)

  • You aren't the only one.

  • No, I have always loved Kirstie. She was a beautiful then and still is (just a little bit heavier now, but still funny and a beautiful soul). I loved her look. She had such a simple look, which I love.

  • Good . But I lost over 30 lb in one month using weight loss plan from LSWEIGHT(.)INFO

well done!! but burn those? pink trousers!!! hehehe

  • I was a contestant on Password in 1971. It was fun to see it all behind the scenes. Allen Ludden was a delight.

  • omg...LUCYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • Luuuu-ceeeeeeeee! What are you doing on TV? I tole jew you cahn't be on thee show! You got some 'spainin' to do!

  • lmfao... that made me laugh out loud

  • She was also on "Cheers", starred in "Look Who's Talking", "Look Who's Talking 2", "Look Who's Talking Now", Pier 1 commercials, and the Jenny Craig commercials.

I loved her in those "Look Who's talking..." movies!

  • Lucy was a complete douche to her teammate. Then for some strange reason they let Kirstie answer the puzzle after her teammate guessed it wrong? What kind of nonsense is that?

  • That only happens after the final clue is given.

If your teammate gets it wrong, then you can try to answer it. Then if you get it wrong, your opponents get to guess.

  • Wow, that sucks!

  • LOL. lucy looked pissed after Kirstie got the Bonanza question correct.

  • Aw look at Lucy! It had been twenty years since I love Lucy had been cancelled, I think she looks great. It's so cool to see Kristie Alley before she was.

  • At least she is low key with that Scientology shit unlike nut boy Cruise

  • Kirstie has said in interviews before that she went on game shows to fund her drug habit (I think it was coke)

  • @kridge200 You know I have seen her on Match Game as well and I wanted to post that she appeared to be on something but I did not want to make an accusation of that sort. She seemed a little too flippant and was not subdued enough to appear like a regular panelist.

  • sad to say it but lucy looks like hell.

  • I was in grade school at the time so I didn't know any different but I remember my parents and grandparents all saying that the years had not been kind to Lucy when she appeared on Password. That aside, she was one of the better players on the show. She did come across as a bit stiff and tense, but I think that was because she took it very seriously.

  • True, Lucy looked so serious during the game! I loved when she was like, "Oh, NOTEpad! I thought you said 'moped.'"

  • She was also in her early 70's by this time. She took her game playing seriously and when her mind wasn't as sharp, and she wasn't as mentally fast as the Lucy twenty years earlier it frustrated her. It is said she played for blook an dto win, and she was probably pissed at herself for not clicking each time. It has been said by the time Super Password comes around (5 years ro so later) Lucy's game playing skills are even worse. Look for the tournament shows with Carol Channing to see.

  • When Lucy appeared on Super Password with Carol Channing, she was still recovering from a stroke. It was courageous for her to even go on at that point, but she did. Aging ain't fun.

  • Kristie Alley was on Match Game. I didn't know she was on Password Plus til later on. She is a good actor and did do the Jenny Craig diet commercials.

  • that cats line is WAY funnier now... she was before her time. but she happens to be sharing th e stage with the funniest woman of all time.

  • Aside from Betty White, Sajak was always very skilled on it (the Convy version).

Always felt Pyramid was easier being able to shout out multiple clues and gestures.

  • I can't wait to see the new Password this year. I'm definitely trying out for that! God bless Goodson & Todman.

  • Kirstie was also a contestant on Match Game.. and probably on a 3rd game show. You can only be on 3 games

  • this game reminds me of pyramid

  • This came before Pyramid.

  • It came before the 1982 re-incarnation of Pyramid, but the original Pyramid went on the air in 1973. So Pyramid pre-dates Password Plus. However, the original Password pre-dates the original $10,000 Pyramid by about 12 years. It went on the air in 1961.

  • That's what I meant. The original Password came 12 years before the $10,000 Pyramid.

  • Lucy was among the best celebrities, by far, who played password. She took it very seriously. She was a game addict later in life, backgammon especially. The other stars who played this game brilliantly are Carol Burnett, Elizabeth Montgomery, and Carol Channing. I mean, brilliant. You could tell their IQs were just out of sight.

  • 725Mama -

I think Betty White (ironically Alan Ludin's

wife) was/is the most brilliant. She was the

    best player in my opinion.

  • where's the irony?

  • Tenfortyseven -

    You figure it out.

  • there IS NO IRONY "ladylike." she was married to the guy. and she was really good at the show. that is not irony. those are what you call F-A-C-T-S. why don't you get out your little lady dictionary and look up the definition of irony.

  • what is hypernated cause she said inlaws

  • in laws is a hyphenated word which is almost the same as a 2 word clue

  • Hyphenated words, including in-laws, are illegal clues in password.

  • Lucy always comes off stiff and tense on shows like these. no warmth. why do the show if ur not gonna give your all?

  • Maybe Lucy was a bit tired that day. Really she was a very smart woman and she loved Password. it has got to be diffucult to think quickly when you have a camera on your face and an audience watching every move you make. It's not like your at home. This clip is so interesting because it is before we knew Kirstie as an actress.

  • She was giving it her, IMHO. She was taking the gam eseriously trying to win, as opposed to being a jerk thinking more about getting the next joke in than concentrating on the game. Lucy was trying to play with vigor. Some people tense up when playing Monopoly at home. I do it myself. Give Lucy credit for being interested in her game playing skills.

  • Lucy loved game

  • Don't forget, she is also in Cheers.

  • Kirstie before she got so big. She was also a contestant on "Match Game". During the shows she was on Dick Martin was a panelist. I believe Kirstie won $500 on "Match Game".

  • Holy crap lucy is in this one! Great Video!! Thanks!!
