  • I couldn't do this... Does that mean that I am not a man?

  • @blowupuate13

No. It simply means hunting isn't quite for you. There's nothing to be ashamed of if you can't stand the sight of blood or organs. Personally, I hate the smell, I almost always have to wear a cloth of some kind.

  • If I shot a deer, instead of cutting out the anus I'd cut off its hind end. lmao, Field dressing the deer is the only reason I don't hunt, I need to nut up and go hunting with someone to start hunting on my own.

  • Talk abou a small deer

  • damn watching this made me hungry... thanks i for the video

  • God I want to hunt but i have a feeling this would take me a while to get used to.

  • Man has done this for centuries and will continue to do so. Eventually I would like to learn this process on my own. At some point...it might be my only choice.

  • So you start the video with silence and so I turn up my speakers and then you have a gunshot which causes my tinitus to get bad again. Idiot.

  • I am so glad i don't have a weak stomach. i only wanted to learn how so i could write about it properly in a story.

  • 38 people are vegetarians

  • Looks difficult, I'd probably cut my hand off.

  • I'm more likely to listen to these guys because they're listening to Marty Robbins in the background.

  • The actual field dressing didn't bother me the song at the beginning I did find alittle disturbing haha awesome video tho

  • good vid. but I wish that I could actually see how some of the cuts of meat were actually removed

  • Excellent video.

  • In hunters Ed I learned to start at the anus then move forward

  • I'm not a hunter, but was interested in the field dressing process. I'm surprised at how relatively bloodless it seems to be. For some reason, I imagined it to be way more gory. Great vid, these guys seem to be very experienced in this "old world" skill. (not that it is not practical today, just saying that "normal" people don't experience the "dirty" side of meat processing)

  • While not a hunter myself,I do respect the ones who go for a quick kill.Hunters contribute to conservation efforts..those who oppose it,like Peta, don't contribute a dime. We've taken out most of their predators, and we're moving into their habitat more and more everyday.Which would you rather have, them get a bullet in em and not know what hit em,or die a long, slow, painful death from starvation?I'm an animal lover, and a conservationist..but i'm a realist..if we don't cull the herd, they suffer.

  • @proud2bpagan I love animals. I've had a bird and 3 dogs. I treat my kill with respect. I want to get a drop-dead kill so there's no suffering and don't disrespect the body.

  • @proud2bpagan I agree, plus with the COMING TIMES... I feel people may"NEED" to learn all they can if for nothing else to "survive".

  • He kept his watch on ! good shit, great video

  • Serious question... i was looking over my gear and thought if a doctor needed to get into my stomach he wouldn't use a buck knife to do it he would cut a small hole and use surgical scissors to cut a perfect straight line up.....wouldn't this be true for a deer? why do we always use a knife and not scissors anyone ever tried this method i may try it this year

  • @mkjredemption Well for one thing, if a doctor was needing to get in your stomach your probably not dead. But either way...using a knife..or a gut knife..once you get the hang of it, you can make the entire cut in just a few seconds. It takes to long using scissors.

  • @yrmumsvids some needs to shoot your gay ass!

  • @yrmumsvids lol i got your bitch!

  • good video, great music!

  • I mean 9/17/12

  • @HumanTestDummies you know its still 2011 right

  • I just got my licens today on 5/17/12 I'm siked to go hunting

  • I just love the Marty Robbins in the background. :-)

  • come back twards the teets!

  • 3:20 that's a fucked up looking face

  • Fairly informative in terms of the info provided, but the video quality sucks so bad it's hard to see what's being done

  • My new science project

  • this is the most redneck video ever

  • The deer has a grill

    .

  • Nice hats boys. U should do a video on how lazy people cut up their deer, we just take it to a butcher ! Good video, very informative....

  • What is the purpose of aging a deer? (I'm an uninformed city kid)

  • @shadowexr2 i would take a guess and say it'll taste better. 28 day aged steak is the best i've had.

  • Comment removed

  • Thumbs up for Marty Robbins !

  • @popelauncher hahahaha i was literally thinking the same thing!! i love marty robins!!

  • Make note to self....have volume set to off next time I watch this video.

  • That was great and informative, thanks! the first vid. I watched on the subject. y'all made it look easy. Just got my Savage 111 7mm-08 and want to learn to dress BEFORE I go shoot something. Never hunted but feel we will all need to know soon. next vid...how to hunt haha j/k

  • teets lol

  • peace

  • very informative. & w/ a Buck knife no less!

  • I hope PETA realizes that hunting is far less cruel than having animals stuffed in a tight industrialized farm for their often short painful lives.Once you hunt the animal was free to roam in its life at the very least. Also over population of deer leads to terrible effects on the environment and society. It just means more deer are going to be hit by cars abd more land destroyed and water ways polluted.

  • Gloves are for women!

  • Nothing like listening to Marty Robbins while dressing a deer!!

  • Seeing it is better than reading about it . Very Instructiional,

  • For every animal, to gut it you-

    1) Cut open belly, expose internal organs

    2) Cut Windpipe

    3) Pull guts out while holding windpipe

  • This is only natural, and PETA can Suck Venison Penis.

  • Is it legal to hunt such a small deer????

  • hopefully thats a waterproof watch

  • Can someone please post a video on how to field dress a domestic cat?!?! There is blood everywhere and I think the meat is starting to spoil! It is just really hard to find information on this and I think I am running out of time!!!! I still have a couple in the freezer from last year that need to be gutted as well!

  • @matthewmaki just reach in its mouth and pull everything out duh.

  • @matthewmaki ? A cat?

  • @BugMoneyFishing I figured it out

  • Hunting is natural

  • nice video, too bad the rockefellers and the like, don't know how to hunt someday they too will feel the pinch of the economy!!

  • Nice one. I also just posted a video on my way of field dressing a deer.

  • Great video, thanks guys.

  • Thank you very informative.

  • mmm good meat. deer is good eatin'

  • finally a person tht does it right

  • That deer has a silver filling

  • i like how he dropped the ham on the ground at the very end

  • @redatious that meat was slick and his hands had blood all over them, so....

  • Love the Marty Robbins! Good video.

  • nice vid this will help for when i shooy my dear and also do you need to field dress the deer right after you shoot it or is there a time limit to how long the dear can be dead befor somthing bad happens to the meat

  • wow every part of this video is backwards!!!! sure these guys get it done but they are doing all of this the hard way!!!!!! lol they even show a picture of a deer hanging upside down!!! but they still do it wrong!!!!!!

  • i start by cutting around the anus then splitting the pilvic bone, the rest will slide right out!! you ddi it the hard way!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow you even skin it ass backwards!!!!

  • i start by cutting around the anus then splitting the pilvic bone, the rest will slide right out!! you ddi it the hard way!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What kind of knife do you use?

  • @kirokyukan just about any kind! it looked like he used a Case poket knife... but you can use just about any knife i prefer a sharp straight edge boneing knife or any shight edge knife " Not a serrated edge" but ounce agin you can use just about anylnife you would like,

  • the guy is still wearing his watch while skinning the deer... a bit stupid...

  • Thanks for posting this video. It'll be a big help once we get our deer. When I dress my dear, I'm going take my watch off! ha ha.

  • i was always told to skin then gut..it doesnt really matter right?

  • @Monst3r199 hey, you want to get the guts out as soon as possible. It will improve the quality of the meat.

  • thanks for the help.

  • Peta complains about saving animals....yet deer have hardly any natural predators nowadays to keep the population where it should be. Hunting is a humane way of keeping the population in check, thereby saving the natural flora and fauna of the region. Then the Vegans can complain to Peta about all the flowers getting gobbled up lol

  • @szforlife yeah most hunting is basically a fun way of population controll

  • That deer is having a bad day.

  • I'm new to hunting. Is this what I should do: I shoot it, then gut it (field dress it) in the woods, pack it out of the woods back to the truck, string it up with some rope, skin it, cut it up with a saw, put it in an ice chest and take it home for further processing? How heavy is a deer or buck that's been field dressed?

  • @ajohnson The dressed weight depends on the size of the buck. I can't remember from class but I think deer lose somewhere around 20% of body weight.

  • @ajohnson - find it, shoot it, gut it.. then drag the entire carcass w/ skin on out of the woods.. into my garage where I will happily skin it, butcher and split it with you!!

  • @kglenn86 Most hunters will tell you to get the entrails away from the meat ASAP. The sooner the meat starts to cool down the less "gamey" it will taste. Also, there could be a knick or small cut in the entrails and the less time the meat is exposed to them the better.

  • so helpful

  • I have a question- could the neck get cut open, saving the trouble of cutting the windpipe at such an odd angle? I'm not too handy and the knife might slip =P

  • @mattybock Get a chain mail glove from a butcher supply place. Keeps your hand safe and gives you better grip. Cutting up too high ruins your hopes of saving the skin for a trophy. I don't split the sternum like they did for the same reason.

  • i jerked off while watching this vid

  • If only I was raised in an area where hunting/shooting didn't become frowned upon.

Oh well, it's never too late to learn.

  • @kglenn86 It makes it a lot easier to carry or drag a deer out of the woods or field after it has been field dressed. Makes it significantly lighter.

  • Great example on how to dress a deer.

  • why is he a red neck becuse he has a acent ? you pepole are fools

  • hey i'm a new hunter. is there a single knife i could use for all skinning and dressing of all animals? would a bowie knife work cuz those are cool. anyone have any suggestions?

  • @umidontno040394 Every video you will watch where the user doesnt have any problems has a small thin knife no longer than 3 to 4 inches. You dont want a large knife, you want a small one. Since all of the work on your knife is going to be along the belly or curve and not the tip or straight part of the body you need something small that you can run under your finger.

Id assume a knife that small would work for anything you would find in north america.

  • @zainaku alright thanks

so your saying a knife 3-4 inches would work for anything in north america? can you use a bigger knife when skinning it on other parts of the animal where you dont have to be as careful? just to make it faster.

  • @umidontno040394 as you saw in this video there are no "fast parts" its all delicate incisions. The only time a larger knife might be practical is if your cutting the meat off the animal, and possible removing entire limbs.

But as far as skinning goes, a small knife works best since you have to pull the skin back, and cut a very very very thin layer at a time. You get a bigger knife, you risk cutting too deep. If you cut too deep by a fraction of an inch you risk cutting the bowels/bladder

  • @zainaku alright thanks for the advice. i'll get a small knife.

  • noo bambii

  • Wow you did everything backwards from how i learned. But hey it works wtg.

  • Good vid....That deers teeth shows that it likes chewin tobacco!!

  • Go Texas!!!!!!

  • very informative. thank you.

  • lmao the first time i dressed a deer i cut the piss sac (yes i know its called a bladder) few i about threw up on my deer hehe

  • Meat is murder.

    Yummy delicious murder!

  • People Eating Tasty Animals.....uuummm....thats good animal!

  • Great video but the soundtrack was killing me lol!

  • if theres anyone who thinks this is wrong your probaly not a person i would hang out with haha im 15 years old an have gutted alot of deer its apart of huntin i also help procces the meat hunting its the best tradition ever haaha

  • I didn't know you cut the rib cage

  • @MrMrspy1 yea i have never cut up through the ribs. it seems like a good idea though. it would keep you from having to reach into the ribcage. learn something new every day.

  • Lol there better not be any PETA people watching this

  • All ya'll going to have me over for some smoked deer leg and some beer?

  • @ BobHylan... only ONE-WAY to find out

    m' man- only one way...

... i think when and if 'that day' descends upon us-

i'm gonna hunt me some survivin' anal-maul rights

activists and eat THEM! just out of a golden-pure

state of 'itoldy'ahsoism'... i'll just keep th'

    nice 'does' alive, though...

  • thank you for this video. i can watch stuff like this but i dont know if i can do it in person.

  • most important is to drop the ham into the gravel driveway, heh

theres *always* a screwup or two when doing this lol, thx for the vid

  • im going hunting soon, is their any way i can for go this fantastic little episode

  • That's some good eaten

  • Awesome teaching video...I am new to hunting and this was extremely helpful. I think I might remove my watch, though!!!

    Thanks guys!

  • marty robbins playing lol

  • isnt killing a doe illegal

  • @RedNeckTanner Erm no

  • @RedNeckTanner just depends on the season.you just have to check your state laws on whether you can hunt only male and female,or just male...

  • @RedNeckTanner not where i live.

  • Comment removed

  • @RedNeckTanner Are you using a computer to post or are you banging together 2 rocks???? WTF did you TRY to say????

  • good video! maybe lose the watch first :)

  • i bet your hand would hurt from all the cutting

  • animal right people plz... its not a sin to eat what you kill.. sorry animal died for good reason made someone warm and fed some folks! besides you might have to do this someday... if you make it

  • Sorry, my last post was meant for "crisology".

  • he should be wearing gloves cuz there a chance he could catch a number of diseases keep that in mind

  • @unclesamshat

wild healthy animals what diseases , long as animals was hunted in season, and its fresh? whats the problem?

  • @Energi2DmaxX ithink he meant like lime disease and whatnot from the ticks

  • lol strong stomach

  • hope to get my first deer this year. thanks for the tips

  • what knife were u using to gut the deer

  • Thanks! Very well done.

  • ..... I was thinking of that very song earlier today...

  • Great video, guys. Never had the chance to hunt deer, but now that I live in West Texas, I hope to bag my first.

  • Why on earth would a vegetarian even search for (let alone watch!) a video of this nature? Are you a sadist? Is that why you are so vocal in condemning this upload - because it turns you on? My only bitch about this post is the poor quality of the video which makes it hard to actually see what's going on. Can anyone recommend a similar vid with high quality production values?

  • @SuperWombatguy they do it because their selfish uneducated lives are so empty and filled with bitterness, they need to take it out on other people by trolling/hiding behind a keyboard.. gives them a false feeling of self righteousness

  • MMMM MMMMM MMMM

now that is some fine butcherin

must be nice to get some REAL food everyonce in a while without all sorts of chemicals in it

  • good flick

  • I'm a vegetarian, but I say hunting is fine, as long as it's done intelligently--i.e. with respect for the environment and the animals. Personally, as far as hunting simply for sport, I think photography is the better way to go, but to each his own, so long as it's not poachers killing an endangered species for money. Feeding the homeless with animals that have no more natural predators isn't the problem. The factory "farm" meat full of hormones and such is what's really wrong.

  • @wcropp1

Hunting for sport isn't respecting the provision our Creator provides for us.

If you hunt, hunt for provision. Use as much as the animal you can.

    Peace.

  • anybody know if the ribs are any good?

  • Thanks great video and btw everyone who says deer hunters or people who hunt in general are "red necks" are just plain stupid.

  • hey, I have a question. Are there any organs you can cook also? Liver seems like the only candidate. I've never had it, but the thought of deer meat grilled on a charcoal kettle grill makes my mouth water already..

  • Sick. truly truly sick!

  • my dream is to become a chef, and all that meat just looks like a dream! nice job gentlemen!

  • I am a country boy in the city right now:( I really like this video and the way things are not the way things used to be, them boy are good American boys hunting then eating what they killed. Not leaving it, not disrespecting it. I thank you for the vid and the music.

  • thank you for posting this.

  • i really want to go out and get a buck this fall but i know for a fact that i am going to puke my brains out while i try and field dress it.

  • What is done with the hide?

Is there a problem with harvesting the backstraps, tenderloins, and hams from the animal and leaving the rest?

Less to carry from the field.

  • leave it, it will feed the other critters in the forest

  • @hyonjun if thats all you're going to take i wouldnt bother hunting. i like to use all of the animal i can out of respect.

  • @ImmaculateSludge

I feel that. I just don't know what to do with the rest. What else do you use? Antlers and hide?

  • yuck

  • Hey, Great video! Very easy to understand. I wouldn't say that field dressing is the best part of hunting. ...But it's something you have to do nevertheless. :)

    Thanks again,

    ~Brien

  • A little tough to watch, but, I appreciate you putting this together. As a meat-eater, I like to know where dinner is coming from. Kinda confirms my opinion that hunting should never be just for sport. Down a deer, make use of the hide, the meat and anything else you can.

    Cheers!

  • i never knew it would be that nasty to cut op[en a deer that is nasty

  • @ 4:30 Oh my God you rednecks lynched that deer.

  • Thanks for the video, great info.

  • Do these techniques work on deer in OR, or only on TX deer? Dang, I thought I needed a Rambo style knife to dissect a deer.

  • How about wearing latex gloves to keep the blood off of you???

Deer have ticks...Ticks carry lyme disease...can you offer any precautions in this area ???

  • yeah... and the tire on your car can fly off sending you careening into oncoming traffic... but i bet you dont worry about that

  • REMOVE TICK WITH A SOLVENT (NAIL POLISH WORKS OK)... THE CHANCES OF GETTING LIME Dz FROM A TICK BITE ARE SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED IF TICK IS REMOVED B4 THE FIRST 24 HRS...

  • It's a lot of work for not much meat!

  • Once saw a video of a guytrying to gut a deer, but the poor guy cut a large organ and some green juice splattered all over him. So make sure you don't cut too deep.

  • Ha yall take WAY to long gettin the hide off. I peel enough back to get a golf ball in it and wrap the hide around the golf ball and tie a cable to it and hook the cable to a truck a pull. but if anyone tries this GO SLOW!!! and have some else watch to make sure a leg dont come off!

  • I find it hilarious how people call people that hunt rednecks when every ethnicity has hunted for survival. Can all the animal rights activists against hunting tell me what you are going to eat when a disaster strikes the US (economic collapse, earthquake, zombie invasion, nuclear war, etc.) and you have no more canned food but are surrounded with deer and you have a shotgun or rifle?

  • @xxpnoyjestrxx Liberal anti-hunters won't own guns, so they'll probably be grazing off our front lawns as we cook fresh meat on the grill

  • u ar a twat did u block me u scared pussy nd wot the fuck is this shit ur watchin ar u for real or yer stabbing is great thanks m8 cheers for askin hahahahaha funny cunt

  • I blocked you because I figured by your spelling that you were retarded and I didn't want to try and decipher this gibberish you call spelling.

  • It's just hilarious when they say "Oh, what a beautiful animal!", then promptly shoot it, then string it up and cut its skin off. Stupid rednecks.

  • @fickle09 can u tell me how hunters are stupid? i mean the ones that hunt things like panda are stupid because they could hunt something that would overpopulate if we didnt keep them in check like deer. so what if they choose to shoot something they admire. do u realize that if a certain species overpopulates, like humans, even more species are at risk? screws up the ecosystem and other animals starve because all the vegetation has been eaten by deer. but w/e, its your opinion.
