this is a perfect example of how 90s were the peak of originality, this song is about pussy and if you listen carefully you can tell unlike rappers today who are so direct de la came with an indirect flow, i can dig it
I love this version!!!! It's so smooth and it totally captures the culture of the core members Native Tongue posse. It's playful and everything you would expect. I also love the sample!
i dont fucking care how old you are if you havent noticed acts like de la, a tribe, biggie, nas those are just a few of the artist who are TIMELESS no matter what age you appreciate it unlike all this garbage like odd future or young money which is momentarily good to you youngsters
damn i hate the comments with kids who say theyre like 13 and they listen to old school music. ok ok ok we get the point. congratulations. we are all very proud for you ha
@nikostzort i am but the kids who constantly brag about it get annoying. actions speak louder than words. if i see 14 year old listening to de la soul or naughty by nature im gonna personally congratulate him myself.
BEST HIP HOP DUO OUT NOW......UNKNOWN PIECES.....UNKNOWN PIECES.....UNKNOWN PIECES....UNKNOWN PIECES.....UNKNOWN PIECES....UNKNOWN PIECE.....UNKNOWN PIECES....UNKNOWN PIECES...LEAVE A COMMENT....GOD BLESS....
Damn I wish I could get this song but it's just not clicking right in my ear. it's repetitive and sleepy.
I only checked this song out because "Will.i.am" said to in the entertainment mag I just don't like it compared to the other songs on his list.. am I crazy?
It's not clicking cuz you're taking listening tips from Will.I.Am! Geez. Is there a "Hip Hop for Dummies" book you could be reading? Let De La be your starting point on a journey to enlightenment.
In Detroit thinking about renting a hall and throwing a dayz of wayback jam with old school classics like this with some zapp/roger, tom browne,whodini,heatwave,ojays,tempts,cameo,etc,etc......you get the point.....think it would go over well?
Back to the High School days -- I bought this originally on tape but have bought it a couple of times on CD -- but lose it -- lol, wonder if it is at the big National record stores or if I should buy it online
@whereruyeezy i don't give a fuck how old you are just shut up and enjoy the music. sorry im just sorry of all these comments of people goin im 12 and i like this stuff
@beatrockas Thank You. Artists aren't just writing music just for their age group, or time period. Music is meant for every age group, every time period. It all depends on you react to it.
@whereruyeezy: Good for you, young man. I was eleven when this album came out and it was one of those things you couldn't stop listen to if you tried.
brings me back to 1989. damn. 12 years old when this dropped. I grew up in Strong Island, and lived a few towns from Anityville. De La does it everytime. Representing strong isle since the 80's.... Keep rockin'
This song is a funny clever song. I really like this song. Once again big props to New York from Atlanta. This song puts me in a good mood I believe it was made for that, like whenever im home from school or on Break at Mcdonalds this shit, Bonita Applebum and Saturdays are getting bumped in my car lol.
What happened to the black hippie movement? There has to be kids out there of a similar mindset making music. I'm sick of the materialism in hip-hop. How many times do the cristal poppers have to say the same thing before it gets whack?
@zcomecuca It might not be the same thing, but I think the Hip Hop Congress is a good place to start for making more happen (look it up, it's a non-profit organization).
Tho, I like De la Soul's song "Buddy", this is my 1st time hearin' da o.g. version of tha cut. I'm more familier wit da Native Tongue Decision verison wit Monie Love, Queen Latifah & Phife Dawg in it. :-)
This album is Hip Hop royalty! Was in Germany when it dropped. Brought it home and dudes was like...what the...but they was all over it. Just sold its 1,000,000 copy in 2007. Wow! The samples is crazy...even for now. Probably my favorite all time hip hop album.
