  • I know this CD player is pretty old but I need a single din deck for my evo and this looks perfect. Question though if you're still answering them. Can you upload a short video file for a background? Or does it have to be a solid image?

  • @mg86ta1 It will have to be a solid image.

  • Can you please clear this for me. Looking at the manual it shows that we can connect backup camera to this unit but on your website specs it says "No" on backup camera inputs! so how can I connect my camera then?

  • Okay so I bought this, and it's a hunk of junk. Website says it plays Divx, certainly doesn't, I don't own a single mpeg1/2 file so I have to convert any video before I can play it on this, as that's the only format it takes. A lot of people asking about wallpapers, yes you can change them to whatever, they come on like a screensaver on your PC (without the slideshow function), however, the quality of any custom ones you choose to put on is TERRIBLE if you want the picture to fill the screen.

  • hey, i wanan know the user wallpaper option can i load a personal wallpaper of mine throuh a pen drive or a dvd ? what is the correct resolution for the wallpaper that i have to make in Adobe Photoshop.

    Thanks

ALso does this has animated wallpapers ? like a pioneer has the dolphins etc ?

  • @guywhohateslove Yes you can load up a .jpeg file as a wallpaper. For screen resolution, you may have to toy with the image size to have it display properly. The JVC KW-AVX77 appears to be able to display JPEG files up to 192 x 680, so this may be a good resolution to start with. For background selections, the JVC KW-AVX77 has preset "Ring, Plain, Road, Night, and User Capture 1-4" all available for different background choices. It doesn't appear that any are animated.

  • @guywhohateslove tv tuner???

  • Hello guys.. When i play a movie or a video, it doesnt produce any bass.. what's wrong?? Does it produce bass for you?

  • @profect010 It could be a few different things. If you are playing the video from an iPod, try playing it back from a store-bought DVD. It may be the sound quality on the file isn't optimized to work correctly. If the audio settings on the sources change on the AVx77 it may be automatically turning the bass off as well, so you may want to check for an internal memory setting that is changing it. Bass should play correctly from movies though.

  • @SonicElectronixTV

Could you explain me how exactly i can do that? Which settings? could you help me out cause i am cant figure it out my self... thanks in adnvance..

  • @SonicElectronixTV

i dont use any ipod or iphone.. actualy i had 1 but my nephew broke it..

What i use is an 8gb usb stick ( about the 8gb i my jvc doesnt face any problem) and then i play the videos.. but it doesnt profuce any sound.. it might be the video quality as you said.. could you upload a video with the currect quality that jvc requires.. thanks

  • @profect010 Try using a store bought DVD to test to see if it's the sound systems problem or not. It's most likely the video file type or decoder that may have been used, some quality may have been lost. Let us know if a store bought DVD has the same issues that you're experiencing. If it does, then it may be a setting on the unit. If not, then you may want to try to use a different decoder to rip your DVD's onto the flash drive.

  • I have a question: With the wallpaper capture feature, would I be able to capture a picture (say, my car club's logo) and have it displayed while I am cruising and listening to music (from ipod/cd/radio,etc)? Or is the wallpaper only able to be displayed as a background image while using the menu, etc?

  • @HAMMERxHCA The background will display while your listening to music. The unit itself may or may not have a preset menu background that may overlay your personal background, so when your changing settings or browsing your iPod it may not show up, but when your finished making adjustments and at the main screen the background should display along with the song information and perhaps album art overlayed.

  • I have ONE more question to ask: Okay so you know how the headunit can have the screen turn off while listening to music (screen is 'off', but comes on when you touch it). Well, if you have an aux lcd monitor hooked up to the headunit and the screen turns off after the 5 seconds or so (whatever the time delay is until the screen goes off), Will the aux lcd screen still play whatever background image? Or album art, info, etc?

  • @HAMMERxHCA See, I will have the headunit in my console with a ~9" monitor just above it, and I am hoping to have my club's logo as the wallpaper being displayed on the lcd monitor when the headunit screen goes off. Think it would work?? Ideas? (Thanks!!)

  • I am getting this Deck, How is the HDD capabilites? Can I play video off those no problem up to what size of HDD? How is the processor EQ? IS 7 bands hurtful? I am used to 16. but I can't find anything that does. lol

  • @DARQMX First off, great choice! Now, this unit does -not- have it's own built in HDD, however it is compatible with portable HDD's and flash drives. You'll need to format the HDD or flash drive specifically to JVC's standards though

Most in dash CD and DVD players are equipped with 7 Bands or less. I personally think 7 Band is a perfect amount for equalization, however if you are used to more, I would recommend an external equalizer. Check out our main site for more equalization options.

  • stores like this are so damn expensive

  • out of all the videos yall posted. none of yall videos show how to insert a disc in or eject it. why?

if your gona do a demo video why not show us how to on everything like plugging an ipod, disc, etc.

  • I will like add navigation system to my unit, what kind navigation system do you recomend for this radio?

  • wow this screen sucks! look at the light reflections!

  • Will this unit play back DTS 5.1?

I am interested in listening to the DTS audio from concert DVD's.

Also I wonder if it can play DTS Audio from a digital file? Say, from a USB or external hard drive or CD?

  • Sorry I have this radio, and is great.. but I have a question, can I would be able to watch video, like music video using the USB plug, with out using a Ipod or Iphone. like I can load my usb memory with music or video music, I will be able to watch those videos from my usb memory?

  • Does this unit have RDS (Radio Data System) function as I checked out the specs but I couldnt find any info on it.

  • i have a problem.. why is it that the device cannot detect my USB, IPOD and Iphone even if i connect it directly to the USB? do i have to make/addjust some settings? the problem with the manual is that its not complete.. some instrustions are missing eg. where the bluetooth menu is- how to activate it and see it on the menu/ SCR. pls help. im from the philippines and i was expecting for it to be just another Plug and play setting. you response would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

  • hi i have a KD-ADV49 and i don't know how to work the ipod function is there a usb thing i need to plug in, because i bought a car and it already had it in there but i don't know what to do to get the ipod to connect. also if i am missing it how and what do i do to replace the usb?

  • The KD-ADV49 does use USB to connect to the iPod. The USB cable comes out the back of the receiver. The best way to connect the iPod is by using the JVC KS-U30. You can search out site for it. It is the iPod connection cable made for the ADV49. Once connected you will control the iPod right from the ADV49.

  • yeah but is the usb connected to the back? meaning you can't take it apart? because i can't find it, is there anyway i could buy the usb plug by itself?

  • Hi from Argentina, I'm trying to buy this unit so first I want to now if It have a Wired Remote output. Thanks!

  • It does have a wired remote output that is used to connect to factory steering wheel controls. You will also need an additional adapter (which can be found on our website) for the connection. Just look up the kd-avx77 on our website, or click the link in the video description box to the right.

  • Do you know if the arsenal kd-adv38 would play video using the Ks-pd100? My ipod is a nano g3 and I want to buy the interfase but the seller doesn't know if the video playback is supported....

  • The KS-PD100 is designed for audio only. It will only transfer the audio and ID3 tag information from the iPod. You could try using the KS-U30 though. It is another iPod adapter that might be able to get you the video playback. We don't have any of the KD-ADV38 left in stock, or else we would test to make sure this works. You also can double check with JVC directly. They are usually really good about having this information on hand.

  • how does the unit move to be able to put a dvd or cd in it?

  • There is an eject/open button on the front screen. When pushed the screen motorizes down to show the CD/DVD slot. It also allows tilt in the same function.

  • Its betgween this unit and an apline head unit. Does this Unit work PERFECTLY with iphone 3gs?? Not any of the warning "this is not made for iphone turn airplane mode on?" Can you plug it in and connect bluetooth and therefor talk on it and play music when not talking? Thanks

  • Very good question. Since the iPhone 3Gs was released after the AVX77 was released, JVC wasn't able to test the 3Gs on it. This could result in a few bugs here and there between the software. Some are able to get the 3Gs to work after doing a manual reset, while others receive a "no USB connection" error. It will just take some time for JVC to see what the bugs are and release a firmware update.

  • you say "firmware update", how would this be applied? Thanks

  • As far as the Bluetooth goes, the AVX77 requires a phone to be paired with it. When an iPod/iPhone is plugged in to the AVX77 using the iPod connection cable (KS-U30) the iPod cannot be paired. It is going to be an either/or for that. However, there could be a way if connected through the auxiliary input as opposed to the iPod connection cable...? We haven't tested that, so we can't guarantee it. Maybe someone else out there has done this already?

  • @csstrikee I have an iphone 3gs. This unit works perfectly. No warnings of any kind. It also works great for dvds. I have it wired to a 5 channel amp and it is incredibly clean sounding. No hiss and great equalizer controls.

  • damn..

I've got one of those 1st generation JVC playback devices, it has a circle navi button each side and a little screen for options/dvds and that was amazing, it was $999 back in the day.. but this really could be worth the upgrade

could say.. a Sony Walkman (A series, bluetooth) be able support video playback for this device (via aus/usb/bluetooth) or just music?

the rrp for these are $1400 ?

  • The list price on the stereo is 649. We currently sell the KD-AVX77 for 599, but can go lower if you see the "make an offer" button next to the add to cart button. Plus, we are an authorized JVC dealer so we can provide you with the best warranty possible.

It is quite the advancement from the previous El Kameleon units. In my own opinion, it is worth every penny.

  • Normally i am not a huge JVC fan but this unit really has me going, this id definitely innovation! And a god send for all the single din folk out there.

  • how do you guys power that stuff inside???

  • The displays that we have here use a regulated power supply. This way we can simply plug it into a wall outlet and it outputs DC power. We hook up the amp right to the power supply.

  • cool, i just looked them up and found a 44dollar radio shack one, i plan on buying my rockford p2's and hifonics amp from you guys also wiring kit so be expecting some feedback, lol

  • we carry the Pyramid PS12KX 12 Amp Power Supply
