Alexander Goebel is the best german phantom ever!!!and his skellington sounds strange because the german lyrics are strange! but his voice fits pretty well!!!
the guy, alexander goebel, who sung the phantom in this version also sung the german Jack Skelington in 'Nightmare Before Christmas' - and gave him a very gay touch!
I had seen ethan freeman, too. Oh he is so great! Ist mein Lieblingsphantom :-) Uwe Kröger ist nicht wirklich mein Fall, auch wenn er auf der Bühne ein wenig besser ist.
i saw the stage production here in germany (essen, that`s were i also come from :D) but with ethan freeman as the phantom! he is awesome, much better than uwe kröger. but I`m going to see the stage production again (because it is awesome!!). this time with uwe. maybe he`s better than in the movie ;)
oh yeah, i know its gerry in the video. Yes, the 2004 movie. (i love that movie to death!wait...or is that gerry?)But, I could tell it wasnt him singing cause his voice was different.Well, now I'm off to find a recording of this guy...
the voice of the phantom will be from the stage because of the german "goooooooooooooooo" which you don't hear in the film as the chandelier sequence isn't until the very end
The Voice you hers is "Uwe Kröger", he is the germay voice of gerard butler...and also one of the performers on stage playing the phantom here in Germany..i dont like him much..his voice is far to high
This video is a wonderful combination of the stage version and the movie.
I think the voice is Alexander Goebel from the Wien production. I like his phantom voice a lot but IMO it doesn't go very well with Butler's face. (I thought Uwe's dubbing was also very funny, in another way:P)

This is the musical version and I don't like it at all. The movie version is so much better, I mean his voice is deeper. : )

His voice is a bit too high.
But I do kinda like the creepy laugh towards the end.

I dunno, I like Uwe Kroger's acting (and I love him to death...no pun intended), but he is vocally wrong for Phantom....
I had a hard time believing that this was Alexander until the laugh. :P He seriously ROCKS as the Phantom!!!! Is there a recording?!

Yes - it is like any movie you see in the theatres in a foreign country that they have dubbed for the people who don't speak English.

He's Gerald Butler. He was in the 2004 (?) movie of "Phantom of the opera"

Well the guy you see is Gerald Butler, but the voice is probably someone else because it was dubbed into german.
