  • thom thumb blows goats

  • The music was on point, the vocals -a bit off key. That said, a solid effort.

  • Radiohead sang this in Santa Barbara in 2004. Was there. Good stuff.

  • Type O Negative's version is best! And I'm a HUGE Radiohead fan

  • love it! just heard another stellar version of this but mashed with duke ellington's satin doll. it is crazy good. seamless.

    search

    cinnamon doll nutty

  • My doctor told me cinnamon was good for my diabetes.

Now, if only I could find a cinnamon girl...

  • Introduced my lil sis to this. I want to be Thom's Cinnamon Girl.

  • my wife, me and our children have been raised on brother neil

  • Why Cover a Song almost exactly The Same ?

  • @nemtall cuz you love the fucking thing and the guy who wrote it?

  • What a great cover

  • Surprisingly good and unselfconscious!

  • Funny how in every youtube cover songs clips, the top comments is always some guy saying "stop comparing the cover with the original" or something along those lines with slight variations.

  • Radiohead does Neil Young? Who says there's a generation gap?!

  • @Simon4642 My mate Cal says "Slice yur ears aff ya Dick " I have to agree

  • It is Absolutlley (Ha) wonderfull! To hear such an amazing band cover , a song which was written from my home town boy. Word up North Bay ON

  • no.no........no nosucks bad

  • @shedevil50337 Have you heard alot of Type O songs? Back in my high school days when I was a goth..lol... I got into Type O and at first I was scared to listen to them and now I think its sexy as hellllll!!!!!!! <3

  • great version of this song.

  • wow, my favorite band covering my favorite artist!!

  • has anyone seen those talking babies??

  • This almost put me to sleep. You all should check out Type O Negative's version!! Rox!!

  • @dyan1219 yep, there are so many versions of this stupid song; & type o negative was the 1st i heard. tkind of like deadsy, i guess they do a lot of cover songs

  • @dyan1219 I love Radiohead and Thom Yorke has a wonderful voice, but I think Type O Neg's version of this song is better. That's not saying that this wasn't great though. lol There's just something about Pete Steele's voice which is perfect for this song.

  • Why is it suddenly so fucking fashionable to diss Radiohead? Sure, they're not underground enough for the pretentious dicks, but they're a real solid band with a great overall output. Neil Young is demigod, and that's the god's honest truth.

  • Neil Young and Radiohead are great, stop the fighting.

  • Peter Steele es el unico que pudo hacer esta versión mucho mejor

  • Wrong use of "you're"... about the IQ I'd expect from a Radiohead fan...

  • @sfklein1 Actually "your" was used correctly, "you're" is like saying you are. That is about the IQ I would expect from a non-radiohead fan.

  • @sfklein1 you idiot

  • @sfklein1 radiohead fans actually do tend to have high IQs based on the limited research done in that area. of the results i saw, only mozart, U2 and ,oddly enough, counting crows fans had a higher average IQ. This means you may want to readjust your expectations to align with reality more accurately.

  • @B0dysnatchers "results i saw..." No research needed - people with high IQ's who can't speek English... Take the brown acid...

  • @sfklein1 The comment to which you're replying has no spelling or wording errors. Also, you spelled "speak" incorrectly. And don't think I missed your erroneous correction of "your." Begone, troll.

  • neil covered it himself...

  • @lisacti What do you mean? It is Neil's own song, released in 1969 with Crazy Horse.

  • WOW, THIS IS AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL.

  • I'll try really hard to ignore the "this version might be better comment"....WOW! That's like saying Van Halen did Won't Get Fooled Again, better than THE WHO! This song was "GRUNGE" long before the word ever became a "Seattle-thing!" Neil Young is the God-Father of this style. It's nice Radiohead paid tribute, they did a fine job. Not that most 12 year-old garage bands can't! It's the easiest of songs to learn, but that's what also makes it special. And Radiohead are not simple musicians!

  • they shouldn't have done it....

  • smashing pumpkins, the cure, joe walsh, pearl jam, red hot chili peppers, and now radiohead. all cover neil young. i have no choice but to check him out now

  • @Bayview05 You've never listened to Neil Young. Oh, you'll be introduced to 1 of the greatest songwriters of all-time. Especially listen to the songs he did when he was with Crosby, Still, Nash and Young. The song "Ohio" is excellent. But if you want to get a great cd from his solo stuff... get the 1 called "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere". Cinnamon Girl is the 1st song that's on it.

  • @Bayview05 you forgot to mention Type O Negative ;D

  • @Bayview05 and John Entwistle also covered this song

  • @Bayview05 and Hole.

  • Strained and painful!

Give The Replicants, or Type O Negatives versions a listen!

  • @TrikesAndTrails Also - Smashing Pumkins - rocks hard...

BTW everything Radiohead does is strained & painful...

  • @sfklein1 your asshole is strained and painfull...

  • @TrikesAndTrails also Smashing Pumpkins - rocks hard: everything Radiohead does is strained & painful...

  • this is a good cover

  • very good job.

  • I kinda like this cover better than the original one :D

    both versions are great though!

  • Colin is way too quiet.

  • Scott Walker likes these guys. He inspired them & David Bowie.

(the sun ain't gona shine anymore)

  • Must be Neil's most covered song... at least 8 different bands/performers, including John Entwistle, just here on Utbe. Funny... no accounting for taste as they say, but when I was getting into Neil's catalog back in the mid-70s and onward my opinion was that if there was one negligible, slight, easy to overlook NY song Cinnamon Girl would be right at the top.

  • Meh. Doesn't add anything to the original.

  • Type O Negative actually has the best cover of this song.

  • boring, radiohead should write great songs, all covers from them are eeehg

  • I was here. Santa Barbara Bowl.

  • lazy sounding vocals

  • ahem, the best cover ever, in history of CGirl!

  • love neil young. love radiohead.

cool cover. radiohead is a great band but neil young is my absolute favorite musician.

  • i love this songcause its gud and it came in a book called murder gme it pretty cool...i love this song but i cant hear the lyrics

  • if you liked this cover also listen to the smashing pumpkins cover of it

  • @Esperanto77 . Better yet , listen to Neil Young.

  • pretty sweet

  • Wow, this is a very respectful cover. Thanks for posting this Basman2006

  • holyshitholyshitholyshitholyshit

    <3 <3 <3

  • Radiohead covering Neil Young. Maybe not the strangest cover ever, but this is pretty cool to hear.

  • Not quite; they covered After the Gold Rush on the In Rainbows tour

  • not quite what?

  • I think that title goes to Dave Matthews covering marilyn manson's ' cryptorchid '

  • Neils original will never ever ever be topped by anyone

  • @someguy671000

Have you heard John Entwistle's rendition? It doesn't disappoint. At all.

  • Type O negative's version is the best.

  • Don't be ridiculous.

  • That's because Type'O version is very organic. It sounds just like another Type'O song.

  • When someone covers a song, it's not cause they want to be as good as/better than the original artist, it's cause they like the song and/or the artist. So stop comparing this to the original, just enjoy both, or if you don't like it, it being too unlike the original isn't a reason.

    ENJOY BOTH :D

  • @flobbypeas241 I agree with you (x

  • @flobbypeas241 I can agree with you on that... but The Beatles are an exception. I think all the covers they done were better than the originals. But that's my opinion.

  • @flobbypeas241 best example- portishead cover.. but, I still love radiohead better

  • they play it too slow and not with less energy than neil.... but neil is much older than these guys but more powerfull

  • Just to add to nicks1988 comment below:

Uthh frwa bgg ad s hbrrud gt ffrpt

  • loops version is better

  • great copy.must have been drinking canadian lager.

  • what? lol

  • So is this what you get when you cross Young with Nash? Grunge and British sensibility?

Long live Graham, long live Radiohead.

  • thom*

  • this is great, when wes this?

  • premiered on April 28th 2001 in Paris at a gig for Canal+ Television (Cinnamon Girl was not broadcast).

  • best ever neil cover, ive been waiting for you by the pixies

  • amateurish..radiohead is better than this for sure..sounds tired & feels like a shitty unfocused garage band...tom yorke sounded like a sloppy karaoke guy singing, no attitude at all...leave neil young covers to pearl jam...even neil himself said once that he prefered this songs via eddie vedder, just listen to keep on rocking in the free world, fucking up & harvest moon & you'll know what the fuck im talking about, period

  • Thom actually admitted that this was a sloppy version in an interview. He even joked in hind sight that the probably shouldn't have played it.

  • oh...ok..wow..how humble is tom...well..im a radiohead fan...but not a big fan of their live cover versions though...

  • totally agree. and i love thom.

  • Heh, david bowie covered it too actually. I think I prefer his, over both neils and pixies. Its large amounts of rocktastic.

  • wow. never thought they'd play neil :)

    beautiful!

  • They also played it on the last date of their 01 tour in Japan.

  • damn, a fusion of two of the greatest acts of all time, doesn't get much better than this

  • good cover... it was played at the legendary canal show, but sadly it wasn't broadcasted... i want a video
