I totally agree. It's hard to watch the show when Keith Morrison reports. But if you think about it, all of NBC Dateline's reporters are super-dramatic.

another thing: I like the presenter`s voice very much: It has some hidden irony and puts a distance between the hard actual facts and the observer, that makes it more enjoyable.
I was in the Youth Conservation Corps and there was one counselor babe who had the hots for one of us. I think she was about 27-28 and he was about 17. This was years ago so you can imagine my surprise when, outside of the corps, the hot tub party was a buck naked party. :0 This was a longtime ago as no one was bald, if you know what I mean. lol
I can absolutely relate to this guy when he says that not having a mother made him search for that "motherly figure" when it came to relationships. My grandfather died before I was born, my dad left before I was born, and I had no younger or older brothers so being raised by nothing but women, as a kid, makes me now, as an adult, seek out that kind of masculine/dominant male figure that I probably don't need, but really want. You just feel incomplete when you have only one side of the story.
That's it, I'm not watching another one with this guy reporting for a while, or I'll actually puke. It's like I'm watching some kind of fairytale, guy's voice is amazingly labored sounding, like he's not talking, he's acting.
How this can be a popular presenter, and people enjoy this tone of his, I'll always have a hard time understanding. I guess some people just like this plastic glitzy feel, like its some drama show. Me, I like real crime as a genre, and this talk doesn't fit with that.
@MrHateregistering I agree. I think he's trying to do something myth-making, suspense thing, but I feel like he should be reading Edgar Allen Poe at some dinner theater, than doing crime programs. The material is already sensational enough without the added slime of his voice. With Erin Moriarity from CBS, I feel at least that she has some empathy with her reporting, but with K.M. I always wonder if he gives a damn...if you're curious google the Saturday Night Live parody.
@MrHateregistering i actually really like his voice. it's josh mankiewicz' voice that i can't stand. he sounds like he's smoked about 30 cigarettes and then started recording... makes me want to punch him in the face, but to each his own.
@MrHateregistering Don't judge Keith on this story alone. I'll admit that this one is pretty annoyingly confusing at the start. He tried to incorporate all those movie references and it got weird. But he's very good otherwise. Some people don't like his voice, but his storytelling abilities are sublime.

If you were an American, you wouldn't be as shocked. You would have been desensitized to yellow journalism, as it is just about all that America has had for the last 20 years. The only reason I don't like the ones where he does the talking is because my ex used to talk to me in that manner and it drove me nuts to have to listen to it for 8 years. @Hochichin --There are other reporters, like the late Harold Dow and Richard Schlesinger, who can report with a little bit of a sardonic tone and actually do a great job because their narration fits in with the story. Morrison absolutely stinks and ruins every show he is on.
