I am a Windows Phone fan but also used iOS. and from my point of view when it comes to features iOS is the winner. On the other hand when it comes to fluidity and a fresh innovative look Mango is the winner. Also Mango works so quick, there is no lag lile tgere is on iOS.
I don't want to offend anyone, but the wp is a generation infront. iOs looks old against wp7. And the user experience is... I dunno what the right word would be. Everything seems smoother, more integrated and more intuitive. Still, microsoft knows how to make just enough errors with their products for their users to imagine how good it could be, but its really not.
But Im pretty sure ios developers are looking at wp7 going wow, so Im looking forward to next generation iOS.
Im not sure i own an iPhone 4 and i FUCKIN LOVE IT! but.....Im curious bout windows phone7.....I've played with it couple a mins but i then gave it back to my friend cuz i didnt like it.... i dunno....
It's all dependent on what you use the phone. I work for a phone company and have used all 3 pretty regularly. I tried to go back to Android after using WP7 Mango and had to go back to Windows. The OS is the smoothest out of the 3 by far. The GPS isn't muddled and actually gives you audible turn-by-turn navigation. I just dig it more.
the Zune music pass is the greatest download music unlimited and I gotta go WP7 100% can't wait til the Apollo update wich is rumured to come with the new Windows 8
iphone has many free games n apps!!! but they cost even for ANGRY BIRDS n FRUIT NINJA in windows.......so for a gaming guy....which one do u recommend?
The first iPhone came out 4 and a half years ago. Almost everyone that I know that has an iPhone, owns a distinct case, very easy to tell apart and why would you worry about their exact model? Everyone also has different home screen backgrounds, and apps so...
as far as i know iphone and android relies on third party apps but wp7 integrates social media on their os. well its up to you if you want to use third party apps or use the integrated one. by the looks of things microsoft have done well integrating social media with their os making it simple to use. it still end on the user preferences ....... for me i have a small business heavy on research for improvements of my product and microsoft office on wp7 is a very huge plus for me esp one note
@KempaMan1 actualy i just got a windows phone 7 (samsung omnia 7) and to be honest the market place is REALLY BIG over 50,000 + apps and counting faster than iphone and android, i owned a iphone and all the apps i used for it was on windows phone market place....also a really really cool feature on windows phone is that you can try any paid app for free, i think u should go with windows phone i promise you will like it
I like your video, and I see you an expert on it, so I wanted to ask you, i'm in dilemma between iOS and Windows Phone, I want your oppinion whitch is better ?
I really like the design of the windows phone, i'm just annoyed by the fact that the market place is not so good, at least i thinks so. There is not enoguh free games and apps, what do you think will there be more free stuff by the time ??
So, for me everithing is beautiful in the windows phone 7 except the market place.
@poligomm does windows media player even have a store to download music? Zune is the software to download the apps and music and the prices are much lower than itunes
@127prats I'm guessing you use apple then, and no it doesnt have a store but my phone if i just connect it to my computer it syncs up to WMP and I can just get songs from youtube converter and iTunes, things like that:). what i asked is can you sync W7 phones up to WMP?
@mahballzrhari: I haven't enabled Facebook integration on my Mango phone (Lumia 800). Instead I downloaded the fbook app that I can use when I actually need fbook (which is very rarely).
@oribali1 Yes that's true, but do you see how much ios relies on third party apps whereas wp7 they include the proprietary software to make it practical.
Can't understand why he didn't slide it to the left to show the app menu. Made it sound like the tile system is the only way to access the apps and that all apps will become a tile. Only what you want to be a tile will be a tile.
THE IPHONE HAS HAD THE SAME FREAKING HOMESCREEN STYLE EVER SINCE THEIR FIRST PHONE THE IPHONE 2G WHICH WAS RELEASED LIKE 10 YEARS AGO, SINCE THE TWIN TOWERS USE TO STAND, NOT TO MENTION THE SAME STUPID DESIGN IN THE FRONT, NOBODY WOULD EVEN BE ABLE TO NOTICE IF YOU HAVE A 3G OR 3GS OR A IPHONE 4 OR 4S! SO OVERRATED! STEP UP YOUR GAME FUCKOS!!!
@jprince186 reakin retard get your facts right iphone was released in 2007 thats 5 years ago not 10 and iphone's UI is beautifull what doesnt need change SHOULDNT be changed......got it? Fucking phandroids think they know everything!!!
I like this video but you're missing the point about WP7's design.
It's very artistic and MS has talked extensively about how Metro was inspired by early and mid 1900s art movements, including Bauhaus. Obviously, the text is also a big design element of WP7. As a visual artist, I hate iOS. The "artistic" elements are trite ornament. It's like Apple is Neoclassical--trying to appear as things they're not. MS is like early Modernists responding to Neoclassicism. Who knows what the future holds?
Enjoyed your video I was an big fan of iphone I have had each one from launch including 4s. But I recently purchased Nokia Lumina on wp7 and I think it's great for a change. I think Apple needs to up its game as WP7 and Android have both passed iOS they need another game changer
I dont know why but nobody talks about prices. I know iphone is a great phone but i think u have to be an idiot to buy one now. You can buy better phones in half the price and not just windows phones (witch i believe is better than ios) but androids too. I bought the lg optimus 7 for 200 euros when iphone 4 was 690 euros.
You could have showed the App-List on the right "Homescreen" on windows phone. Some people may think now, there is no such thing and if you got dozens of installed apps you can´t put a tile on the main screen for everthing....
i have much experience with allmost all the mobile os's. because i have a iphone4 and a hd2(old but still my main phone,). the hd2 runs winmo 6.1, 6.5, windows phone 7 and android. and i prefer using my hd2 for personal and work use. the calendar is minimalistic, but really easy to use. it is smoother than ios, android and older windows mobile. it looks awesome, the effects are great and smooth. the multitasking is great. and the live and facebook intergration in the message app is alsovery good
Mango looks way sexier than any OS I've ever seen. This video made me realize how boring and plain my iPhone is. I love the tiles and the Xbox and Zune features are killer in my opinion. I really wish verizon had the htc Titan or a similar big screen windows phone but I'm really considering switching from my iPhone to the trophy. Mango is hands down the better os
I have an HTC Evo and I am seriously considering a Windows Phone 7 when my contract is up. Among the reasons for the switch is phone quality. Both Android and WP7 are on several different phones but the WP7 seem to all have a very consistent experience. Where as if you get a cheaper Android phone it could be a piece of crap.
@littlequags game center is nothing special, I found it annoying. Xbox live is more impressive, syncing with the most popular game console and giving you access to an account you probably already use a lot.
i really regret getting the iphone 4s. windows os is soooooo nice. and wish i would have waited to get the HTC Titan or something. iOS is just blahhh. looks very boring, yeah it's very smooth, just it doesn't work for me that well, the only reason i have the iPhone is because of my iTunes, i have like 3,000 songs on there, but that's fine after summer of 2013, windows phone is definitely my next phone hands down, also by then there will be 1000's of apps for it
@gaphoogys Then all you need to do is sell your iPhone on ebay or Craigslist. Buy the windows phone you want and you will still have money left over. No need to wait two years. Remove your sim card from the iPhone and put it in whatever phone you get.
@gaphoogys not really, Windows phone 7 got a lot cheap devices, you can just go buy one to have a try, I can't use it as a daily phone, really just because of lack of apps. not games or anything but things I dont really worry about before, a weather without adv and easy to use, a world clock, a timer without ads. A train ticket, timetable checker, internet banking apps, as IOS is the major platform company is willing to make apps for. After 5 years, iphone is not fun, but great to use, WP7 is Fun
@nfalas I did. You'll like it if you do. The app market is small but the OS is very nice, especially the People hub and Facebook integration and Skype integration coming on the Apollo update.
Games with the Xbox live branding cost more because you get the Xbox integration and achievements. I've gotten so much more gamerscore since i've gotten a windows phone =)
windows phone can be completely controlled with voice.. exactly like siri too. A thing worth mentioning as siri is suppose to be the big thing. I have used both and think windows voice tasks are more convenient and fast.
Great video, but could have shown the app list on wp7. Dozens of apps on live tiles would indeed look cluttered.
I love the integration of WP7, but there is much room for improvement, like giving developers access to customize things like messaging or to let the open app respond to the search key (it always opens bing, marketplace even has its own search icon on screen).
The metro interface simply is beautiful, especially in motion. Elegant simplicity was Apple's "thing" and MSFT surpassed them.
@nfalas yeah the wp7 with mango is amazing its a truly great OS its liquid smooth, its fun to see how every thing comes alive on the start screen,I'm shocked on the quality of apps I've owned both an android and iPhone and I'm shocked on how great the apps are (their is not as many as iPhone or android but still more then enough to wet anybody's stomach, connects to your Xbox live its cool to see your avatar, going through your contacts, calendar, personal things if fun and easy ;) worth every cent
you miss multitasking... skydrive, oficce on the wp7, and the tittles you can put in the home screen like pages from internet explorer, songs, images... etc, now Metro Tube get a updated and you can do the same whit the videos or playlist... one note... maybe a extended video :D thanks!
WP 7.5 mango best OS and most Stable and yes FAST. WP 7.5 UI so awesome while iphone looks like crap like dead icons and cluttered. Cant wait when windows phone 8. Iphone still dull boring iphone cant swap battery, No 4G, no need for twitter or facebook when it integrated on wp 7.5 wp 7.5 wins again
It should be mentioned that despite the fact that the iPhone 4s has a dual-core processor which uses up a lot of battery life, the WP7 OS is so simplistic that websites, and apps open up as fast as iOS5.
i just think that mango looks a lot more contemporary than ios, i have an android phone, i've had an ipod touch and i think that apples design just looks old... i do not at all agree that the dude is all windows!
If you can download apps and games for free on WP7, then I'll definitely switch. But as far as I know of, you can't do it, so i'll stick with my iPhone 4.
No style?! Metro UI is pretty much the sexiest interface ever. It's data-centric and not too fancy with graphics, but it's simple and beautiful. (I do dislike the orange tiles of Mango and your setup, but that part is personal taste)
Dude. The tiles represent apps and display their vital information so you don't have to load the app for the smallest of things. They aren't different from applications, because they ARE applications. (pieces of them, anyway)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This is such a biased review and yes it is an add for Windows Phone 7. You only have to listen to the language and you can clearly hear his biased opinion...
@zollotech Just a quick question. I remember you saying in one of your videos that you loved WP7, and in this video it seems like the ease of use would be much greater then the IOS5. Why do you use the Iphone 4s? (Not saying this was biased or anything, just curious.)
Not to trash on anybody who has/ likes WP7, but I personally run iOS and have run android, and prefer something like that, now with that being said, iOS is obviously apple based, and Android is (in case anybody didn't know) Linux based I think that apple and android are going to be more polished, but if you like/run/prefer WP7 than that is your thing, you don't have to trash on iPhone or android
1. The bigger icons that give you updates are more stylish and convenient. IOS looks aged with their tiny icons.
2. I've dropped my Samsung Focus many times and it's rock solid. Ask around and you'll hear horror stories about about iPhone 4 cracked screens.
3. The calender view in your review. Windows Phone also has the monthly view that looks a bit more sleak than the iPhone. Check the icons on the bottom of the agenda view.
4. My Samsung Focus wrecks the iPhone 4 on battery life.
I heard a lot about battery lasting for ages, but my battery lasts for only about 12-14 hours a day on regular use; regular use being calls of about 30-60mins, maps for about 20-30mins, facebook for little bit, and just general texting and web browsing.
I'm really trying to decide between Samsung Focus S and iPhone 4S.. both have really good qualities. I agree that WP7.5 looks more innovative and seems to have more potential for success; having said that, iPhone already has success.
@plukplak2008 dead ass mann, ive been useing android 2 years. three days ago i got my windows phone and mann im never switching back. people are sleeping on windows phone.
People who says windows phone 7.5 live tiles are cluttered are the jealous apple trolls has look at iphone 4s icons are all cluttered and the apps are just dead. wp7.5 apps are always alive and more interactive than iphone apps.
ijustine is one weird blond woman just trying to get attention. She such a wannabe. also funny how she loves apple products and when she is using xbox to play games ahhahaha shows you she loves microsoft. Jobs is Dead
I love how my windows phone 7.5 battery last for 2 days with heavy use while junk iphone 4S have battery issues hahahaha Windows phone 7.5 UI and OS is best and Fast OS no need for dual core it fast enough and yes Most stable OS. Love how the Apps are alive on wp 7.5 while iphone apps are just DEAD and Boring
I am a Windows Phone fan but also used iOS. and from my point of view when it comes to features iOS is the winner. On the other hand when it comes to fluidity and a fresh innovative look Mango is the winner. Also Mango works so quick, there is no lag lile tgere is on iOS.

@gaphoogys Then all you need to do is sell your iPhone on ebay or Craigslist. Buy the windows phone you want and you will still have money left over. No need to wait two years. Remove your sim card from the iPhone and put it in whatever phone you get.
zollotech 2 months ago 4
@zollotech is that good to do?, and still paying the same thing as it was the "iPhone"? if you change the sim card to another phone?
iAnormal13 4 weeks ago

The iPhone is old and boring. WP7 is the next big thing.

Zomechin 2 months ago
I like the Windows 7 phone, but this was such a blatant bias interview. Are you seriously comparing the voice features as "a little bit better"?
notta3d 2 months ago
@notta3d views on siri are very subjective. Some people use it a lot, others don't.
zollotech 2 months ago 6
@notta3d bias? u gotta be kidding..i think he was fair for the most part..get off your high horse..

Windows Phone is Amazing
bxbbrian 3 months ago
Great video, but could have shown the app list on wp7. Dozens of apps on live tiles would indeed look cluttered.
I love the integration of WP7, but there is much room for improvement, like giving developers access to customize things like messaging or to let the open app respond to the search key (it always opens bing, marketplace even has its own search icon on screen).
The metro interface simply is beautiful, especially in motion. Elegant simplicity was Apple's "thing" and MSFT surpassed them.

@kerayzey iPhone 4S, but I am looking at possibly getting the titan or waiting for the lumia 800 to come down in price a little.

@zollotech Lumia 900 is supposed to be priced at $99

@MartialBob
With contract, that is. It's the same as to say that iPhone 4S is priced at 15¢ (European contract pricing).

@phucvientran1998 there's plenty free games and apps, even a few of the Xbox live games are free, which I didn't even expect from MS.
I have the HTC hd7 and I have to say I have never been happier with a phone purchase.
xcatalyst 3 months ago
you miss multitasking... skydrive, oficce on the wp7, and the tittles you can put in the home screen like pages from internet explorer, songs, images... etc, now Metro Tube get a updated and you can do the same whit the videos or playlist... one note... maybe a extended video :D thanks!

@ihos501 vs a5 clocked at 800Mhz.
00thepowerstation00 3 months ago
PLEASE remember this. That focus has a 1Ghz single core vs a dual a5
ihos501 3 months ago
It should be mentioned that despite the fact that the iPhone 4s has a dual-core processor which uses up a lot of battery life, the WP7 OS is so simplistic that websites, and apps open up as fast as iOS5.
GriffinWiebel 3 months ago
i just think that mango looks a lot more contemporary than ios, i have an android phone, i've had an ipod touch and i think that apples design just looks old... i do not at all agree that the dude is all windows!
TheoSk8h 3 months ago
If you can download apps and games for free on WP7, then I'll definitely switch. But as far as I know of, you can't do it, so i'll stick with my iPhone 4.
phucvientran1998 3 months ago
@phucvientran1998 You can download plenty of Free apps for WP7. There are also many for sale -- just like iOS.

No style?! Metro UI is pretty much the sexiest interface ever. It's data-centric and not too fancy with graphics, but it's simple and beautiful. (I do dislike the orange tiles of Mango and your setup, but that part is personal taste)
idance4fun 3 months ago
Dude. The tiles represent apps and display their vital information so you don't have to load the app for the smallest of things. They aren't different from applications, because they ARE applications. (pieces of them, anyway)
This video could be explained a lot better.
idance4fun 3 months ago
I should compare the titan with IOS5 ... not the focus... the 4S is WAYYY newer than the focus
manpaisa92 3 months ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
This is such a biased review and yes it is an add for Windows Phone 7. You only have to listen to the language and you can clearly hear his biased opinion...

@celticgibson I use an iPhone. I think it was pretty fair.
zollotech 3 months ago 29
@zollotech Just a quick question. I remember you saying in one of your videos that you loved WP7, and in this video it seems like the ease of use would be much greater then the IOS5. Why do you use the Iphone 4s? (Not saying this was biased or anything, just curious.)
Smimley 3 months ago
@celticgibson even u dont believe that...u do know apple is not the best at everything??...it's not like they invented sliced bread..jeez
bluestarkad17 3 months ago
@celticgibson Not necessarily biased, more comparing the new OS to what's been around for a while. Comparing it directly.
idance4fun 3 months ago
@celticgibson I totally agree. Dude is all windows lol.

Not to trash on anybody who has/ likes WP7, but I personally run iOS and have run android, and prefer something like that, now with that being said, iOS is obviously apple based, and Android is (in case anybody didn't know) Linux based I think that apple and android are going to be more polished, but if you like/run/prefer WP7 than that is your thing, you don't have to trash on iPhone or android
yourfavoritetechie 3 months ago
4. My Samsung Focus wrecks the iPhone 4 on battery life.
sheznj 3 months ago
I heard a lot about battery lasting for ages, but my battery lasts for only about 12-14 hours a day on regular use; regular use being calls of about 30-60mins, maps for about 20-30mins, facebook for little bit, and just general texting and web browsing.
I'm really trying to decide between Samsung Focus S and iPhone 4S.. both have really good qualities. I agree that WP7.5 looks more innovative and seems to have more potential for success; having said that, iPhone already has success.
