I think the best thing you said as far as weapons was the S&W .40, and the affordable/reliable Mossberg 12 ga. I would not waste money on a bolt action rifle compared to an AR - 10, or AR - 15! Glock is over priced. Also, it's an Austrian brand.
@RotaryLover87 Sometimes it's better IMHO for people to have the reasons behind your conclusions then the conclusions themselves. In my experience every gun owner has strong thoughts on specific models, new users need the reasons.

If you fill up water containers with your own water I recommend adding drops of bleach per gl to give you free chlorine to keep it safe for long storage. Air out the water and let the chlorine dissipate before drinking. Ex: a 5# container of DRY granule Calcium Hypochlorite $7-$14 can treat up to 706,560 gls of clear water or 353,280 gls of cloudy water. Don't buy the liquid bleach as its only good for 6 mos. Dry granules last a lifetime if kept dry and allows you to go mobile if needed.

I am 15 and this channel is shared with 4 other friends, they have joined me and we are currently prepparing for anything that can happen. The problem is that most children today focus on so much crap, but none of them even recognise the threat of something like this happening. It saddens me that most of them will perish due to poor preparation.

you should definitely get a .22 rifle as well, the ammo is extremely cheap meaning you can get a lot of practice, and hunt small game for low cost, and stock up on huge amounts of ammo without bankrupting yourself

I recommend an AR with a .22 conversion bolt. Running out of 5.56 and .22 would be much more difficult, you dont lose youre manliness (5.56), and .22 is better on very small game and much easier to suppress (can do it with garage materials, I dont want to do a homemade 5.56 suppressor, it would blow up)

thats all you really "need" for firarms, but adding a large rifle, and assault rifle, would really round it out

It looks like your food is in a basement area. I would recommend that you store the cans in such a way that air can circulate all around each can - to protect from corrosion. Also, can you store in other areas of the house, maybe rubbermaid boxes?

I also think it's a good idea to buy a large number of "junk silver" coins to use as barter. I bought $3000 worth of silver for only 6% over the spot price. Right now a 90% silver coin is worth about $2.80. If gas is $3.50 a gallon then 5 90% silver dimes will buy you 4 gallons of gas at current prices. I see silver becoming an alternative currency during the coming hyperinflation.
You also need a way to heat your home and cook your food in the event of an economic collapse. I bought a couple of Butterfly-brand kerosene stoves. I'll be buying kerosene heaters and a lot of kerosene come fall. I'm also a believer in having one gallon of water per person per day for a whole year. We're on our way to having 2000 gallons of water in our basement. I like Mossberg guns too. We have a couple of Bantam 500 20 gauge shotguns.

This sounds terrible but must be talked about. In a shtf/awol with the need to preserve as much water as possible, bathing will be difficult so buy cheap Baby wipes , alcohol wipes and anti bacterial wipes. Staying clean will prevent infection!
Get water jugs to store used water (bath, etc) use it to flush toilet. AND
Buy lime from hardware store. its what was used back in the days of outhouses . dig a hole for human waste, sprinkle lime on it and cover back with dirt

Since most people dont know how much they eat in a year. Grow fruit trees. Form groups. And 2 months of water and food will be gone in no time. Also, think outside the box. A BB GUN can be used to hunt rabbits and such, if you get a GOOD ONE. Water not for drinking can be store in old milk jugs to be used for your toilet. Get a wood burning stove.

Just in case fyi ,I have some beans that you can germinate. REAL easy to do and 1 bag of let's say a pound once germinated gives you 40 pounds of fresh nutrients. IT's one of my prepping tricks. I stocked up on. You just have to rinse them out 2x a day and let sit in darkness ,,,ready in 3-5 days.

Great video Demcad but I take issue with you regarding water for 2 months. Even if we experience a complete currency collapse the state and city water treatment facilities will be kept operational as no one in power wants to see tens of thousands die within a month. No time in recent history have we seen a developed nation completely shut down its fresh water supply and we won’t see it here. But yea I have a water filtration system for short term incontinences, you never know.

Is *"Spell check?"* a complete sentence or just a fragment? Perhaps we will have to consult with Lynch and see what wisdom he has to say about a "main clause" an independent subject, verb and expressing a complete thought all before you use an end mark .

A 30-30 would also be a great choice in my opinion... if you have an AR or are thinking about buying one make sure its 5.56 so you can use .223 rounds in it in case thats all you have available

It's good advice for everyone.
Because even if you think things will never get to the point he's describing, his preparations can serve you well in a variety of situations.
For example, suppose everyone in New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina had been following his advice? Food and water storages, backups of essential items, medical supplies, and some kind of home defense are good things for everyone to have all the time, regardless of what happens with the economy. Good vid. Actually, ammo will be a better bartering tool, along with cigerettes, toilet paper, toothpaste, etc. I've been in many conflicts from 1987 to 2009 (retired AF), and small things like this are a huge morale booster. If I was bartering food I would rather have bullets than gold.

It looks like your food is in a basement area. I would recommend that you store the cans in such a way that air can circulate all around each can - to protect from corrosion. Also, can you store in other areas of the house, maybe rubbermaid boxes?

I also think it's a good idea to buy a large number of "junk silver" coins to use as barter. I bought $3000 worth of silver for only 6% over the spot price. Right now a 90% silver coin is worth about $2.80. If gas is $3.50 a gallon then 5 90% silver dimes will buy you 4 gallons of gas at current prices. I see silver becoming an alternative currency during the coming hyperinflation.

You also need a way to heat your home and cook your food in the event of an economic collapse. I bought a couple of Butterfly-brand kerosene stoves. I'll be buying kerosene heaters and a lot of kerosene come fall. I'm also a believer in having one gallon of water per person per day for a whole year. We're on our way to having 2000 gallons of water in our basement. I like Mossberg guns too. We have a couple of Bantam 500 20 gauge shotguns.

Ok, this goes out to every prepper out there.
I'm a college student that has just recently discovered prepping and am in real need of advice.
I just been laid off from work and still have at least a year left of school to finish.
How can I prep on a low budget without any guarantee of a job at least until the summer?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

@elitatsuki Ok well start by buying some silver coins for bartering and investment, get a bug-out-bag (BOB) ready, and start accumulating basic goods like soaps, non-perishable foods (rice, honey, alcohol), medical supplies and hygene, and finally buy whatever self-defence weapon you can afford: crossbow, baseball bats, knifes, machetes, or if you can a shotgun. Oh, and keep fueling your knowledge. Knowledge will be the #1 asset, especially regarding repairs, cooking, farming. GL!

@DEMCAD I'm from Flint also and you did a great job with this video except you forgot to mention one thing. Get to know your neighbors! I know some people in Flint are less than savory characters but people cannot isolate themselves when the shit hits the fan, they will need to form groups for security. This sounds terrible but must be talked about. In a shtf/awol with the need to preserve as much water as possible, bathing will be difficult so buy cheap Baby wipes , alcohol wipes and anti bacterial wipes. Staying clean will prevent infection!
Get water jugs to store used water (bath, etc) use it to flush toilet. AND
Buy lime from hardware store. its what was used back in the days of outhouses . dig a hole for human waste, sprinkle lime on it and cover back with dirt

Down load the LDS PREPAREDNESS GUIDE its 224 pages of good survival ideas. Also, find wells so you can pump and clean water. Start a HUGE garden. Since most people dont know how much they eat in a year. Grow fruit trees. Form groups. And 2 months of water and food will be gone in no time. Also, think outside the box. A BB GUN can be used to hunt rabbits and such, if you get a GOOD ONE. Water not for drinking can be store in old milk jugs to be used for your toilet. Get a wood burning stove.

Just in case fyi ,I have some beans that you can germinate. REAL easy to do and 1 bag of let's say a pound once germinated gives you 40 pounds of fresh nutrients. IT's one of my prepping tricks. I stocked up on. You just have to rinse them out 2x a day and let sit in darkness ,,,ready in 3-5 days.

@smoothtj HOWDY! There are many ways my friend! A bow! A CROSS BOW! A BB GUN. All are dangerous. There are BB GUNS that you need a FOID card to own. And a BOW can kill a deer at 100 feet. A CROSSBOW can kill a deer at 200 feet! There are all kinds of them. SportsmansguideDOTcom has a hand cross bow that is 80 pounds [ pull strength ]. A Normal hunting bow is like 65-70 pounds pull strength. They are not terribly accurate at range... But they can kill a rabbits and small animals. GOD BLESS!

Great video Demcad but I take issue with you regarding water for 2 months. Even if we experience a complete currency collapse the state and city water treatment facilities will be kept operational as no one in power wants to see tens of thousands die within a month. No time in recent history have we seen a developed nation completely shut down its fresh water supply and we won’t see it here. But yea I have a water filtration system for short term incontinences, you never know.
