A bike per say, would not be able to take care of this type of situation. I think we need more vehicles seeing as our student body is growing rapidly. 3 res halls and two hotels on two ends of downtown, need more than 2 cars and a truck. I think the Charger was a good idea.
In response the some of the students on this documentary, the Police do not just report to situations on Somerset Street. For example, if there is an emergency at the Holiday Inn on Blossom Street, and the Vehicle who is called to the situation is stationed on West Street, a fast and reliable vehicle is needed.
A Segway cost nearly as much as a Charger, and a Charger is cheaper than a Crown Victoria. Seems like a good choice to me.
