@MATT84z no, he would never have been in the top 10. They look at potential and what you offer and while a phenomenal college player, Luke would be soft 6'8" PF in a league with 7" PFs. He also is not very athletic even though his bball IQ is very high. If you look at the draft history, you'll see that with the exception of guys 6'11" and above, the top picks are usually at least very athletic and well sized.

Thabeet sucks. He simply wasn't ready to play at this level, but he decided to go to the Draft because he knew that some stupid team like Memphis would had picked him in the first 3 picks only for his size... Technically, he is only able to shot free throws and block, he sucks at defense (see his game against Pittsburgh, where he gets owned by Dejuan Blair, a 2 meters swingman playing as a center) and he does lots of turnovers while receiving on post
