My husband learned a couple of years ago what heat can do to a entertainment concole. He lost two playstations because of overheating.
So when he got his current playstation and his xbox, he put an intercooler and two fans over it. He has two fans that blow into the vents on the top and the intercooler pull the air out.
Now it doesn't matter how long he plays, the system stays cool.
I am not currently getting any red light error message but when I turn my console on it will run for a few minutes then i will get graphical artifacts on my screen. will some of these techniques fix this?

water cooling an xbox is the most retarded pointless nerd thing I could imagine anyone doing, just upgrade your pc and throw your xbox out if your going to do water cooling i mean wow.
its called the towel trick. U wrap ur 3 ringed console in three towels- While on and hard drive and av cable unplugged- have it on and let it Burn for about 20secs, then unwrap let it cool for about another 20 then turn it on. Usally u get a few more days from it every time u do it. But the more u do it the more damage to the soldering and Xclamps- if u have them still- will happen.

Microsoft releases they're products too early, before they are completely finished. So it causes many things like the Xbox 360 to have errors, or even fail.
I've had it 3 ties over the past days. It's ridiculous, although what I usually do is quickly turn it off, unplug the cables in the back and wait for about 5-10 minutes before turning it back on. It works.
well if you go on my page theres a video telling you how to remove the heatsinks to get rid of red ring for maxumium of 1year its in my favorites or you can send it to microsoft.....

Bottom left red light only, E74 on the screen, I have had atleast 9 times and I've had my Xbox for as many months. It says to contact Xbox customer support. However, for this error, simply turn off the plug socket and wait til all the lights turn off on your Xbox. Turn the socket back on, start your console up and it's as good as new.

reduceing the cpu will make you consle freeze more often and will be more slow.

I had one for about 7 months and i get a red ring in the corner (for AV cables). The rest of my friends that have a 360 have gotten the full 3 red rings except 1. I just contacted xbox about my warrenty without informing me that my xbox broke. They said something like $39 for an extra year or $69 for an extra 2 years I believe. I think I paid $49 originally for my 2 year extended warranty which turned to 3.

To Prevent this:
1. Buy and install whispermax fans by tailsmon
2. DO NOT GET AN INTERCOOLER, Get a fan stand
3. Keep xbox vertical (with fan stand)
4.Add extra Heatsinks (should come with whispermax fans) for older xboxes with no heat sinks
5. Install Watercooling if necessary
The Object Is To Keep The Xbox As Cool As Possible to prevent the heat from warping the circuit board and popping the GPU lose (causes rrod and e74)

Dont use the towel trick it bends your motherboard and can cause permanent damage. Shure it works to get your 360 working but it only lasts so long.

I've had it 3 ties over the past days. It's ridiculous, although what I usually do is quickly turn it off, unplug the cables in the back and wait for about 5-10 minutes before turning it back on. It works.

If on the screen of your TV it says ''system error'' and at the bottom it says E74 then I might be right.

A question someone might no but i cant find anything about it...... after fixing my xbox.. how do i get it to test for a hardware failure again instead of going right to the red lights.... right now i leave it on for 20mins then turn it off.. it will actually start up, not go right to the red lights. Is there a faster way to get it to start up to see if its a heat issue?

Bottom left red light only, E74 on the screen, I have had atleast 9 times and I've had my Xbox for as many months. It says to contact Xbox customer support. However, for this error, simply turn off the plug socket and wait til all the lights turn off on your Xbox. Turn the socket back on, start your console up and it's as good as new.

it too like 3 weeks for me to get my return box because they couldnt find my adress then it took them a while to fix it, it took like 2 months and i was pissed until they accidently sent me TWO refurbished one on accident i coulnt be happier lol so now if this one fails i got a brand new backup

no it doesn't dipshit!! mines has a falcon chipset; smaller cpu & 175W power supply (old ones had 203W). Runs cool & has no issues.

reduceing the cpu will make you consle freeze more often and will be more slow.
xbox is just another lame piece of hardware that microsoft just makes.i am not saying that the software sucks because its awsome, but the consle has too many system failures!

I had one for about 7 months and i get a red ring in the corner (for AV cables). The rest of my friends that have a 360 have gotten the full 3 red rings except 1. Also, thank you microsoft for the general crappy setup of the xbox internally, if you designed it a bit better you wouldn't have to fix those millions of 360's each year!

well my xbox got 1 red light 3 times in the 2 and a half years iv had it and this is the forth time so now im getting a £280 pound reimbersment (about 600 bucks if your american) and im getting a new elete and i hope this one wont break, the no 1 tip, get insurance/warranty, its only a bit more money but it is worth it uf your getting a 360

it just happened to me (thats why im watching this video) ive had mine for about 2 and a half years. i used to play constantly, but then i only played once or twice a week. but... my friend had his as long as me (minus about 3 or 4 months) and hes had to get his fixed twice! (he plays alot) well, hope that helps

I just contacted xbox about my warrenty without informing me that my xbox broke. They said something like $39 for an extra year or $69 for an extra 2 years I believe. I think I paid $49 originally for my 2 year extended warranty which turned to 3.
