I'm one of those people who has a hard enough time dealing with grief in private, and in public it's almost unbearable. Sunglasses are a defense mechanism, because people tend to give you more space when they can't make eye contact with you. I'd say this family really needed that space... not a bunch of cameras in their faces while they tried to say goodbye to their loved one.
