honestly, the more people I talk to about their iMac experiences, the more I wonder how anyone could have anything bad to say about them (still very glad I went with this one)... thanks for the comment!
true, and I think iTunes suits most Mac users just fine... thing is, the AAC encoder that comes with it has majorly dropped in quality since Apple left their old encoder (Quicktime 7.2 and before) behind for the faster version included now. the only other option is iTunes' mp3 encoder, and I'd much rather go with the LAME mp3 encoder as it offers the best quality vs. filesize.
plus Max covers all my music-related needs (including creating a lossless backup of my music alongside my mp3's).
Great information man, you have almost convinced me to buy an imac. There is not an apple store anywhere close to me and I'd love to get to try one out but sure sounds good to me. Plus I saw were you mentioned they may drop the price in a month or so and if that happens I will probably go ahead and take the plunge. Glad to see you enjoying your new imac man.
thanks, ya I've never had such a positive experience with a computer before...
by the way, in reply to this and your other comment, I'd say the base 20" iMac should work just fine for you. in fact, I would've probably gone with that one instead except that they only had the higher-specced 20" iMacs on display at the Apple store, and I was only willing to buy one that I'd had a chance to run through its paces first.
hey, no problem, glad I was able to help :)... I know back in the day when I was still strictly a Windows user I used to look at Macs/OS X as sort of an area you just don't go, but I have to say that now that I've made the switch I couldn't imagine my daily tasks being any easier to manage/organize than they are with OS X. good luck to you, keep me posted on how your switch goes!
haha, thanks, I'm very happy with my computer (in case you couldn't tell :))... and normally there isn't that much light shining through, but I'll see about picking a better time of the day to record for my next video.
as for the Alpine, I've been without an iPod for almost 2mo and I'm waiting for my 2G Touch to arrive in the mail so I can film a review including the 9886's iPod browsing interface. should be soon, hopefully by the end of this week...
Great review. I have used iMac before and they are really nice. The screen looks amazing.

Couldnt agree more. I have been more productive with my IMAC comparing to when i was using my PC. MAC just gets the job done.

the iMac's iSight resolution stays the same across the line (1024x576)...
callmejosiah 3 years ago
Hey, if i buy a 2.4GHz imac does the isight camera stay the same quality as it would on the one for 2.66GHz, it's just they have different grapics.
but im not sure if that makes a difference.

you can import your cds with itunes and you can give your mouse a right click in the mouse preferences.
