@csmybuttt ok... the russians did have a few good snipers in ww2 that racked up 100s of kills a peice. but if you want to know accuracy check out the marines. every time people talk about the AK-47 two things come up its impossible to jam and the accuracy is shit. barrel is two thin and the bolt is so heavy that when it cycles it shakes the whole gun. also the sights are crap. the AK-47 is ment to be a spray and pray wepon. comapred to modern assault wepons like the m416 or ACR the AK-47 is junk

Sure, it's heavy and primitive, but it gets the job done being accurate in semi, and somewhat manageable in full auto. @csmybuttt than what? and the ak-47 is not accurate even on semi when comapred to a m16. the 5.56 has better terminal balstics than a ak-47 round because when it enters the body it does more damge because it rolls end over end and causes a bigger wound. the 7.62 russian just goes straight through its target. ak is cheap and reliable those are the only +'s to it. point is in my opinion M16>AK-47 at any point in history. i would never carry an AK. you just cant hit shit with it. same with the SVD.

Terminal ballistics has nothing to do with accuracy, so your point is rather irrelevant. The M16 is NOT better than the AK47; both have their own attributes that make them both competent in their function. Personally, I prefer the gas piston system over the M16's DI. NOT the same with SVD. Why do you think the cartridge has been around for over a century?

FYI, Dragunov SVD was one of the best sniper rifles of its time when it was created in 1963. Today, it's been enhanced and is currently on par with american M24 weapon systems. the SVD was meant as more of a role that the M21 fill on the modern battlefield. its a battle rifle or a designated marksman's rifle. it was developed for the normal solder to be capable of greater accuracy over the rest of the guys in the unit with AK47/74 variants. the SVD was misconstrued by the general public to be a sniper rifle. in its role as a DMR, its a great rifle, if not a bit long.
