They are separate. The version on the album was performed on a Kurzweil PC2x keyboard, which has the sound and feel of a real piano, but can be recorded without noise from the surroundings. In my opinion, the performance on the recording is slightly better, only because I was able to try it again and again until I found the take I liked most.
