I hope you have giving it another try, but my advice would be to have very dark containers with a couple larger air holes on each side covered with pantyhose to keep bugs out and wrap a blanket around the box if it gets really cold. Adding a couple handfulls of dirt or compost would be great as well as a little sand. I know mine love banana peels. Be careful with over feeding as I did because it's almost impossible to get rid of those pesky fungus gnats lol looking forward to more videos
Mike, sorry for the late response. But you may have gotten a mixed batch of worms, maybe only stopped them with brite lite. Not sure where you bought your worms. But some suppliers give you a mix of Eisenia fetida/Perionyx excavatus. They do this because thier worm farm has been invaded and no one wants to buy mixed worms. This gives someone like you a sense of failure, when it wasn't at all your fault.
Maybe an issue you cover in the future.Perionyx excavatus is a tropical worm. And likes to roam

Looks dry. Add water. What is the temperature of your compost? Temperature of the air? Materials you are using as bedding and Food? Please respond back to me. Send me a message on youtube.
If you ever do start vermicomposting again, be wary of your temperature, and gasses. Too much food waste can lead to way too much n2 and create ammonia. Have a balance between carbon and n2, 30:1 ratio.
Meh I don't blame ya you gave it 3 shots. Worms are pretty sensitive to start with. I do some worm composting but most of it is really good old fashioned compost. Almost as good just takes a bit longer.

@garbageguru1 I think it was my setup. This was from a supplier that I definitely trust and has a good rep.

Not sure of temp. I used newspaper and some compost as bedding. Mostly kale stems and apple cores as food.
I've since started using The Worm Factory 360 as opposed to a homemade bin and it seems to be working much better.
