Wow...I only discovered this today, after seeing it nominated on 2008 Archie Awards for best video remix. This performance (& it's very hard to pick a favorite) was my favorite DA during Idol season. I still can watch it over and over...so heartfelt, spot on vocally...just awesome!! He really was in his element, looking cool, mature, & sensitive here. But it's this montage that's so cool here...really some great David moments from last year's journey. Great Job...hope you get nominated!

so, this is obvioulsy NOT the complete performance from the Dolly night on AI. Claerly this is a prerecorded version from his album - which proves the point I have benn making all along. THis show is very rigged and biased towards this kid. Woder if ANY Other contestant has sung a Dolly Parton song or one of their albums? HELL NO! Don't get me wrong, I love his version of this song... and now I know why. IT sounded like a very well though out arrangement for one week's prep. RIGGED/BIASED

hey! you should have read my description of this video... it's a personal/fan REMIX of both live and studio versions. FYI: since the Top 10 performances, complete studio versions are recorded by the constestants and are available for download via iTunes after the relative result show of the week. Thanks anyway, for you not noting the difference is a compliment in itself.

are you saying that every song sung on the show is then recorded in it's entirity in the studio by the idols and available on iTunes? I can hardly believe that the original artist and writers of thse songs would allow such a thing. I mean, maybe the show versions that can be downloaded, but full versions? Wouldn't that require royalties to be paid? I don't have iTunes, so maybe you are right. But I would be surprised. This studio recording is not recorded prior to the season? Inform me.

Yes, exactly. They usually recorded the studio version just days prior to the live performance (I think) as part of the partnership of AI with iTunes. iTunes released (ie made available) for download the studio versions after each Wednesdays' results show.

The itunes versions of EVERYONE'S songs, not just David A's, are amazing. So, no bias here. They are definitely worth the price. I've been listening David A's for months! Ryan heavily promotes this on the show; in fact they are only on itunes until Monday night...then, they are gone!!! Excelllent remix! Mixes the best of both worlds!
