  • wats the difference between this and 12b. thats what im leavin for lost in the woods this tuesday

  • i just got this job to..im ready to leave April 9th

  • LOL the guy with the upside down rifle in 0:55, hope that doesnt happen to me when i start training for this MOS

  • This is my MOS i leave july 17th for basic

  • @MrEJDixon555 Good luck man have a nice time at Fort Lost in the Woods thats what they call it if you didnt know have a good time i wish i was able to go but at my age right now i cant got 4 more years until im 17 but my parents will have to sign me up. Good Luck!

  • im red and green color blind and i was thinking about being a us army combat engineer. Could someone answer whether or not i can pursue this choice or if im not qualified due to being red/green colorblind

    -thanks

  • @jakethesnake90909 im gonna be 12bravo too, i leave in march to fort leanard wood for basic. i think it's required cause it could disqualify you due to the possibility to having disarm bombs and or identifying ieds'

  • @jakethesnake90909 I ran into this same problem, I wanted to join the Army to make something of myself so I picked 12N Horizontal Construction Engineer. Its called Colorblind discrimination not saying you have to pick the job I've chosen but colorblind folks are either Medical field (except repairer), Concrete/Horizontal, Cooks, or Administrative. If you don't like sitting around don't do Adminstractive(But HR is a good civilian job), cooks=slaves, Medical is downsizing

  • Here's some REAL GOTTAM for those of you who play TF2.

  • this is the most fucked up shit I have ever heard of... This job means that you will do route clearance and get blown up almost every dayl NOT worth your life!!! I did route clearance in Helmand Province, Afghanistan for 10 months

  • @gijoe1586 How're you here if you got blown up Engineer? Or do you mean blowing up IED's?

  • this is the most fucked up shit I have ever heard of... This job means that you will do route clearance and get blown up almost every dayl NOT worth your life!!!

  • Some of the craziest motherfuckers i've ever known picked this MOS with high 90 asvab scores.

  • Hey, where did you get this? This is my basic training CO. So weird seeing people I know in an Army video. Hotel company in the 35th engineers. I think that was 2nd platoon that made the video.

  • They are not pogs. My buddy is 21 bravo he says he mostly escorts convoys and marks mines/ieds for eod. He carries an m4 at all times. Doesn't sound like a pog. I'm usmc 0311 and have a lot of respect for usmc and army engineers. It's a dangerous job. Don't be an ass

  • @nicoilschlager Too bad peeps just don't realize that Grunts isn't the ONLY important job. We wouldn't be anywhere if it weren't for the engineers, air support,motor-t,etc.. Btw,99% of people shouting "eww POGs",aren't even Grunts,or Military for that matter.

  • army engineers are pogs

  • @bcove90

How are they pogs? They still carry out battles.

  • @bcove90 are you retarded lol!

  • @bcove90 ' Army Engineers are pogs" ( POGs- personnel other than Grunts) u r right! , did u mean FOBets? then u r fucking wrong bro!

  • how is this job lame? Without combat engineers, the US would have lost pretty much ever war since WWI. They deal with enemy barricades, barbed wires, mines, and blown bridges. Very crucial job.

  • @guitarhamster102 Not to mention the hundreds of IED's that the pussy insurgents are placing EVERYWHERE.

  • @guitarhamster102 I think he was just talking about the video itself. not the job, lol

  • how is this lame jackass these people risk there lives for you and ps my uncle is a combat engineer

  • 21 bravos clear the way hooah. Fort Leonardwood damn its been soo long since ive been there. 1221 lead the way hooah

  • Are these the guys who help tank crews repair their damaged tank in the field?

  • This video shows nothing about what a current combat engineer does, and we are nothing like MPs never say that ever again, and we lead the infantry.

  • Most Combat Engineers will more than likely be sweeping and mopping floors as oppossed to actually doing any of this.

  • @The5thSlider mopping the floors?... do you know anything combat engineers do because this video tries to make it seem less combat orientated like the infantry vid. combat engineers build frontline defenses, blow up enemy bridges. clear paths through enemy mine fields by using whats called detcore (c4 made into a rope launced out and then detonated) we set mine fields when necessary too. there so much more they do aswell. with out combat engineers divisions would get bogged down to a halt.

  • @frightner24 Its not just engineers Im a tanker in the Army and all we do is janitor work. If you join the army yiou will be a janitor regardless of mos.

  • @The5thSlider dude you should know ALL MILITARY PERSONNEL DO CHORES ITS NOT ALL BING BAM BOOM

  • this looks kinda gay

  • @bigdenn93 It's the toughest job in the US Army bro. What are the 3 manliest things on earth? Shooting guns, building stuff and blowing shit up.Thats the life of a combat engineer. They also see as much combat as the infantry.

  • It's like a mix between between MP and Infantry. Looks totally gay.

  • This my Mos too I leave in 2 weeks

  • this video is pretty old..... im joining the army now as a combat engineer but their 12 Brovo now instead of 21 Brovo. it got changed

  • @frightner24 Too bad it is "Bravo" not "Brovo"

  • @TheStealthCheetah as long as my message gets across i dont give a shit about spelling thx but not nessesary

  • @frightner24 How old can it be? They're wearing ACUs.

  • @frightner24 It's from around 04-05.Considering they're wearing acu's but still wearing the 3 colour desert vest.It wasn't changed from 21 to 12 until 1nov2009

  • At 0:29 I though they were playing minesweeper

  • Hello everyone:) I am from Bulgaria. How I can join US ARMY? Please tell me. This is my mail: ivaylodimitrov_33@yahoo.com or yahoo messenger : ivaylodimitrov_33

  • yeah... i'm a combat engineer... i did none of that down range... what i did down range was drive around looking for things to blow me up... that's it...

  • @jesterTVI lol

  • @jesterTVI Hey!!! You did that too? False Advertisement much? lol

  • You know, this doesn't say shit about route clearance. Just sayin.

  • @goreelslow thsi is 3 years ago alot has changed

  • Question can you become a combat engineer after being just a regular soldier?

  • @Alexplus20 yes, you just need to re-class to 12b now

  • @Alexplus20

and what exactly is a regular soldier? These ARE regular soldiers...

  • @CaptainAmerica322 as in reserve or full time. And can you become one after being a reserve-ist basic rifleman?

  • @Alexplus20

Basic rifleman doesn't exist. If you mean 11B Infantryman, then yes, you can reclass to 21B. Why not just join AS a combat engineer though? Why join as an Infantryman, and switch? No point. Infantry training and life is very tough, so why not just cut to the chase and enlist Combat Engineer, if thats what you want to do. Active OR Reserve.

  • @Sibs1990 Hell yeah brah! Combat Engineers are bascially (grunts with the C-4). You ARE gonna see combat. Hence the word "Combat" Engineer. Like Drumerboyz95 said you will be deployed with Infantry in aiding with construction, demolition, and mine disarming. Espicially since this war is going to migrate over to Afghanistan so its gonna be FUN BABY! And no you don't need a 4 year degree, Unless you want to be a Officer. I'm a future 1302 combat engineer officer in the USMC.

  • dam notice the propaganda music playing in the back ground..how cheeesey lol they could made a better documentary then that LMAO.. RESPECTS TO COMBAT ENGINEERS

  • I was a 21B back when we were called 12B/12C.. I was attatched to 6 man Ranger LRRP team, and with them I was cross trained as a medic. That was the Shit!!!

    No one moves without Engineers!!!!!

  • how old is to old for 21B?? what about 34 years 170# 5'10"

  • @fastzxrbike The first thing to know is- what is the age limit to be in the Army?, 2nd talk to a recruiter, take asvab test, H.S deploma?, take care of legal matters-police record, etc. They will offer a list of MOS- Military occupational specialty to you, then ASK for 21B. then you go to (osut) one station unit training-all male.its gonna be hard / challenging but its all worth it. become one of us! SAPPERS.

  • @fastzxrbike i went to baisic with people who were 40 in this mos, if you are mentally and physically strong, you should have no problems.

  • how old is to old for 21B??

  • flagged

  • @Sibs1990 no problem. i am considering being a combat engineer or a cavalry scout myself so it's always good to learn your options

  • @Sibs1990 combat engineers would be deployed with infantry units to aid in construction, demolition, and mine disarming. it is an enlisted position so no college degree is required

  • It's like they're acting?

  • Drive trucks play with C4 "lift and carry heavy shit" get blown up.

  • 12B once more. Hooah.

  • lol around 54seconds the guy goes in with his gun upsidedown.

  • @articking1 I didn't see any guns. Only rifles.

  • @TheProjectIceman your right.but nice vid.i'm joining the army so its nice to have quality videos like this one to give me an idea of a mos.thanks

  • @articking1 Yeeaaaahhhhh.... this video does the MOS absolutely no justice. I'm not a 21B but I did my basic and D35th and now I want to be a 21B so bad, but I'm stuck as a 15W unless I purposely fail out of my classes and try to become a 21B.

  • @articking1 its a new style of shooting its more effective lol

  • @articking1 lol

  • @articking1 the video changed scene before he flipped his rifle around, obviously.

  • @articking1 LOL! good catch hahaah .. he derped out

  • @1:53 the guy is retrieving his grapple. he must have been picked last for ultimate frisbee. lol

  • lol 1:53 Im sure hes doing something very important but looks funny

  • @MrJoeyjunkbin its a grappling hook that is suppose to catch any tripwires that may not be seen ahead.

  • @MrJoeyjunkbin grappling hook that catches any tripwires there may be

  • Leaving for ft leonardwood august 1st for this mos. Very excited!

  • @Sovietoffspring The video is outdated but you will still learn quite a bit through black phase. Oh and dont let anyone fool you, Engineers dont get anything through OSUT but its for your own good. Demo is the first week of AIT and it all pretty much sucks until you do MOUT.

  • @Sovietoffspring Dont get 31st engineer battalion, they will fuck you up there. If you get my old unit Delta 31st you will get fucked up even more.

  • Sounds like alot of fun lol. I am going back in as an Engineer lol. Maybe I'll get to have all that fun this time around ;)

  • this video is so shitty lol

21b is a pretty badass mos tho

  • I was a combat engineer with the 82nd Airborne Division, and I will tell you first hand that a combat engineers job is dangerous. While serving in iraq, anytime a convoy was coming through our area we had to go out in advance and clear their route for them. If the enemy had a ambush in place we took that out, so that the convoy coming through later was safe. We were ambushed multiple times.

  • ARMY people are big time under paid. Over the years their rank structure has been made a mess of too. There are way, //way//, *WAY* too many officers! The number of officers ought to be lowered down to 25% of where it is now. That thing about veterans being sought after in the civil labor force was not true in the early 1990s, and I have no reason to suspect that it is true now.

  • Don't call me Sir, I work for a living!

I trained at Fort Lost in the Woods during the 70's

As a former Combat Engineer, the best way to describe the job, is your a grunt that knows how to blow stuff up and clear obstacles.

    Good Luck

    Bobby

    8TH Infantry Division

  • i was a 21b for 4 years . was in 172nd sbct for 16 months in iraq and done nothing but find i.e.d.s or let them find us. pick another m.o.s..

  • Would you like to know more?!

  • duties- blow shit up! "Its fun!"

  • i thought combat engineers was 12 bravo from last time i was in 94-98

  • @nando90210 We where but they changed it to 21 to help associate us to our officers, but the army is planning on changing us back to 12.

  • Don't do it. Work smarter not harder. This job is fun for like the first year...then plan on getting blown up and shot at. oh and having to sign and be responsible for a ton of shit. Sappers lead the way, but we pay for it.

  • Engineers do everything. Depends on what's needed at the time. That guy that said they don't do combat missions doesn't know shit. During my deployment as a combat engineer, all we did was combat patrols and raid suspected enemy hideouts. Other Engineers do route clearance, just depends on what's needed like I said.

  • Heading to fort Leonard wood feb. 1st for this

  • WTF! The video left out Route Clarence!?

  • My drill sergeants were combat engineers, the sds was blown up three times..."What's it like being blown up, Privates?...it sucks."

  • 21b are combat engineers and 21c are bridge crewman

  • im trying to decide between being a combat engineer and a FATDS Specialist, whats better, keeping in mind i want to fight

  • What is the difference between 21B and 21C?

  • @apayhay Female's,ha ha ha! 21c- bridge crew member.

  • arnt these guys zappers ?

  • why are the only people talking minority's?

  • the name itself combat engineer is ironic, because most combat engineers will only see combat if they have to defend themselves, but usually there is another infantry, mechanized, or aerial detail looking out for them

  • @Kyle15bitch Ya right, people usually forget that combat engineers are infintry first, combat engineers second.

  • this is lame. for some reason this reminds me of the movie starship troopers

  • @dasaxophonist

    Its a govt film, relax

  • @dasaxophonist lol. All these types of Army videos which shows training is made to manipulate the mind of those who are interesting in joining. I know b/c I was a 63J and I thought that I'll be doing what I saw in the videos only to find out that my main job in the U.S. Army was a janitor (detail cleaning). Glad I separated honorably.

  • @dasaxophonist WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE?

  • @dasaxophonist The book version of Starship Troopers is better. The Mobile Infantry are supposed to be a combination of Armor and Airborne.

  • @dasaxophonist Its probably the music lol

  • @dasaxophonist fuck you prick

  • @mirrorseye whats your problem?

  • you"re fucking crazy if you don't think 12B do combat missions

  • I hated doing the probing lmao...it hurts ur knees with an IBA on :D

  • @koolman72389 Yeah probing is fucking lame, you clear like 20 meters in a whole night, crawling in the mud until your elbows bleed, all that when it rains like hell....good times XD

  • Can women be a sapper?

  • @SasukeUchiha11100 yes they can. A good thing to watch is something called Mission Demolition. It goes into the training of a sapper leader and there is a woman in the class that they are following.

  • @flamefox5000 i didnt know that, i think i actually saw that lol. Are they put in combat units?

  • @flamefox5000 Uh no they cant the can be sapper trained and have the badge because of Sapper Leaders Course but women cannot sign this mos as its a combat job.

  • @SasukeUchiha11100

Yes but they can't do any actual combat missions

  • i liv in australia i'v applied to join the aussie version my "you session" is on this wednesday wish me luck.

  • @XxCRAZYxFACExX Good luck. Any ally of America has my respect

  • why do they make this so korny

  • Army MOS 21B Combat Engineer

Private Tyrell Herrera Is my boi!

Keep up the good work guys!

    Miss you Ty.

  • After some serious consideration, I want to go for this when I enlist.

21B - Build new shit, blow up old shit.

  • This was my life as at the 18th End. Co., 2nd Inf. Div., at Ft. Lewis WA, 2005-2006, under the leaderlessship of CPT Paul Russell and SSG Shane A. Grantham. PT, breakfast then report to CO HQ @ 0:900. Then, we were told to disappear all day. That meant, slink back to your barracks room and be quiet or we'll find something for you to do. We did this day after day, week after week, and so on. WOW. What training. You would have to be in the military to know this. They are the laziest jerks!

  • @farrrubin haha, true story. shamming out all day. Then you get to train up for deployment... JRTC, big field problems.... blows.

  • Engineers! Sham the day!

  • my older brother is in the army and is doing this.

he's coming back next week! i can't wait to see him! :)))

  • hahahaha this is a joke. i drive around iraq lol

  • Nice!!This is my recruiter's MOS!!!!However,im a 13F,ship to Fort Sill 20101004

  • COM ENG clear the way for all the other MOS's lol .... they find the IED first so guess how is more likely to get blown up first! My husband is a ENG hes got 10 yrs in this shit and it is dangerous as fuck so don't let this shit fool you LOL

  • If I become a combat engineer, would an electric company want me?

  • whats the difference between 21B and 21E?

  • Who is deployed more often 11b or 21b!!

  • When my man was a combat engineer during the Cold War, stationed over in Baumberg, he got to do a demolition project in Augsburg during their 2000 year anniversary. He had a commemorative beer mug from Augsburg from that celebration; his mom has it now.

  • fuck 21B, enlist MOS 1371 Marine Combat Engineer

  • @CJDaTman 21B all the way.....fuck marines there nothin but brainwashed bitches

  • its all about the 19ds kandahar in 6 months

  • are combat engineers at high risk? i was told the opposite by my recruiter

  • @jrAmPagE03 Yes it is a high risk MOS, they should rename it infantry engineer, because you will be trained as an engineer and infantrymen. If you want a "safe" MOS pick something in these fields 92, 15, 25, 27. Pick what you want, don't let your recruiter persuade you into some thing you do not want, its your life your in control at this point. When you go down range you lose a lot of that power to make decisions, choose your MOS wisely.

  • @lwbushido i want to do an MOS that wont bore me to death you know what i mean? but at the same time i dont know if being in high-risk is worth it. Like i was even thinking of doing infantry because it looks like something i want to do but the thought of being in a high-risk situation is keeping me back from it

  • @jrAmPagE03 I was infantry... don't be infantry do something you can use after the Army, who's going to want to hire a trained killer ? It seems cool and High speed and hooah, and it is "but" if you want a career after the military pick something like 21B, hell even a tanker has some valuable skills. There are tons of possible 31B MP is a great MOS choice, you get to do Hooah stuff while also being able to transition well into the civilian world.

  • @lwbushido true but i might do it as a career, and if im really motivated i might go for green berets. Or i might just do 21B which i heard is hooah too. Ohh and its 12B now, i saw the MOS's that are available after i took my ASVAB

  • im processing in a couple days for this job !

  • just got back from basic/ait. 12b lead the way!!

  • U.S.M.C COMBAT ENGINEERS

  • lol at :45

    to "identify friendly mines"

    hahaha

  • @MrGadjetable lol i dont think any of them are friendly

  • its 12B now they switched it

  • leavin for basic aug 4 fort leonard wood 21b

  • What is the difference between a Combat Engineer Platoon and an Infantry platoon? CEs dont have a weapons platoon. I spent three years in this title. I recommend you go Infantry. That is what you really are, you are right there with the grunts, you might as well get there title. Good Luck Bobby 8TH ID 12TH Engineer Bn
  • Also try and get a trade whilst your in and study, the Army is paying for it so use it.

  • Combat engineers they lead the way

    HOOAH

  • ill be on my way to BCT august 24th. for this job of course.

  • Im going in Sep. 14th as a combat engineer. Super Nervous. 17 weeks of hard basic training and im wondering.....are they gonna be hard on us for that entire time?

  • @88Kingofhearts

sure.....its 17 weeks of one station training so u keep training with the same people and drill sergeants that u begin with......its gonna be basic training all the way up to ait...but it s totally worth it

  • @88Kingofhearts Hey leaving at the same time for the same!

  • SAPPERS LEAD THE WAY!!!!!!!!!

You also get to blow shit up with PE-4 or C-4 as you yanks call it, which is fun.

  • I served for ten years as a Combat Engineer in the British Army and loved every minute of it.

We use to do alot of infantry training,Sapper training, trade training (i was and still am a Carpenter and joiner) Airborne training,Commando training and travelled all over the world, sometimes into combat and other times with disaster relief and what not.

No matter what country your from being a SAPPER is an international brotherhood of hard fuckers who love to drink, fight and fuck all at the same time

  • @stuartsbushcraftblog this is probably a very stupid question but were you always in a squad with other sappers or did you sometimes work as a lone sapper in other squads. thanks for your answer, and thanks for serving your country

  • @SullyIsPrime Depends on the task at hand mate, we call them sections and not squads in the British Army (made up of 6 sappers, 1 lance corporal and 1 corporal)

Sometimes you could be working as a regiment or within your Squadron (battalion), as a troop (platoon). section (squad) or in pairs or even on your own.

Sometimes your attached to an infantry battalion as engineer support, usually helping them during their patrols/asssaults with clearing mines/boobytraps,breaching and even fighting.

  • @stuartsbushcraftblog thanks alot,

  • @stuartsbushcraftblog what did you personally carry, such as rifle, grenades, explosives, night vision maybe, the things that helped you with the job not things like canteen, thanks in advance

  • @SullyIsPrime depends what your doing mate. Normally we'd carry an SA80 rifle and sometimes a pistol (in Northern Ireland) but now our guys carry pretty much everything the infantry carries in Iraq and Afghanistan. All depends on the task at hand.

If your conducting some infantry training then you will carry HE grenades, WP grenades, smoke etc.

Explosives come in all sorts of premade charges or even in stick form PE-4 (or as blocks for C-4) all so sometimes your carrying AT mines or banaglores

  • @stuartsbushcraftblog Sometimes your carrying wirecutters or what we use to call demolition ladders for scaling obstacles or climb up bridges to attach explosives.

I cannot speak for the US Army mate but your gear will be different depending on what your doing and which unit your serving with, if your an Airborne Sapper again you carry different gear and have a different combat engineering role from say a sapper that is in an armoured engineer squadron and driving an AVRE.

  • @stuartsbushcraftblog thanks man

  • I just enlisted in this!

  • ima 91B but its funny how infantry say they lead the way...but when a big fucking wall is blocking there way who is it that leads the way?? combat engineers thats who

  • @Drhacker7 damn straight lol
