blackandyellow87, shut the fuck up. ur fucking retarded. u know, Fire Departments have budgets and r working on getting all LEDs on every unit, but until then, keep your fucking mouth shut
@rescue75squad750 Don't use the word "retarded" it is highly offensive to those who have disabilities. I even find it offensive..just do those who have a disabilities and do not say it again!
I think they should just install heavy duty bull bars on all emergency vehicles and if they don't get out of the way, literally push them out of the way, granted don't hit them at 60 but match their speed and push, that'll teach people quick because they won't want to pay for a new bumper.
@ylen13 I'm a cop and i was looking at videos to show a fifth grade class I was visiting about obeying laws like this and instead I should find a video of you getting arrested for not pulling over. I go on escorts and get calls from paramedics and fire crews on chasing down certain license plates that would not pull over for them and having to give 5k tickets and even week so stop saying that it does not matter if there are no cops around.
Great video; wish there was a way to make everyone see it. The only thing is that I think most people get the "pull over and stop" idea, but the real questionable areas are multi-lane highways and especially intersections. What do you do if you're at a stop light with an engine behind you? Pulling into the intersection to get out of the way clearly isn't safe. I am a volunteer firefighter, and I still find it questionable to blow air horns at cars stopped at red lights at congested intersections
By this time next year I'll be Emt certified. And if I get an asshole like ylen or whatever his name is, I will be willing to sacrifice my EVOC so save a Pt's life. Fuck a bumper tap. You'll see a pit manuver done by an ambulance haha.
@ylen13 Yeah really!! I'm done arguing with you. Go learn the hard way then. Your loss, not mine. Let's see how long you stay on the road when the Officer in the right seat hands you a ticket for failure to yield for an emergency vehicle. Yes, that's right, fire Captains, Lieutenants and other Fire/Police Officers can still issue citations to you. Have a nice day moron!
I hate it when people don't pull the f**k over, I'm flashing my lights have my siren blaring and yet the dipshits still keep driving even when they see us. I have to over take them into on coming traffic because they are too dumb and arrogant to pull over LIKE STATE LAW CLEARLY STATE'S!! Remember " On Approach of an Authorized emergency Vehicle Pull to the right and wait until the authorized emergency vehicle pass's you!!"
im pretty positive u dont my town has 1300 people and my dept gets like 400 calls a year i dont think u live were i do..... and what about a fire truck passing by that dont make since
@ylen13 requesting the right unless state law says you MUST pull over and stop...then the right of way is automatically given to them and you can get ticketed and in some states, arrested for failing to yeild to an emergency vehicle.
@Lawmaster1702 It's still request regardless of state laws unless cops see me violating the law. FD, Ambulance crew can't do anything about it. Only police officer can. So until/unless cop sees me it's requesting.
@ylen13 no, it's still a command because most fire and EMS crews are smart enough to write down your plate number and turn you in to PD..and you'll still receive a ticket.
@Lawmaster1702 Actually no, writing my plate will not result in me getting a ticket. At most i will receive a letter from police basically saying don't do that again. Unlike parking tickets, this type of tickets are issued to the driver and not register owner. As such, police officer needs to witness the violation, pull vehicle over and ticket the driver. So writing the plate down will do nothing.
@ylen13 actually not anymore...most states are implementing legislation that these tickets will be issued like parking tickets...so you better hope nobody turns your plate number in...o and btw..the new legislation also says multiple offenders get imprisoned for 30 days...stick that in your pipe and smoke it
@Lawmaster1702 Not in my state but lets go with what you're saying. The only way they can make such tickets as "parking tickets" would have no points on dl. Also you can't in prison someone unless you can id them being that defense of "it was me" does work. You can also fight the ticket on same principal that it wasn't you driving the vehicle
@ylen13 except for the small fact that federal law stipulates that regardless of whether i hit you or you hit me..you are still at fault or even negligent for failure to yeild to an emergency vehicle :) so good luck with that
@Lawmaster1702 Except insurance are regulated by the state only. It's very simple, ambulance and fd are requesting for right of way even thought law says you must move out of their way. If you hit me, you will be at fault and my lawyer(s) will have a field day with your insurance company.
@001looker easy enough to fix since the government is redundant and state law stipulates the same thing :) so again..you'd still be at fault regardless
@001looker consider this your notification...while law may take a while to be changed, companies are taking matters into our own hands...most companies have installed dash cams on all our apparatus, so now we can turn you in and you WILL be issued a ticket just as though you were caught running a red light on camera...and not only is there a fine involved..you get points on your license to
@Lawmaster1702 Keep dreaming as that is all they can do. Let me explain the law to you so you understand it. The only way they can issue me a ticket is if police officer witness the violation. As such the only thing dash camp can do is get police to send me a letter saying don't do it again. But go ahead and keep dreaming that the dash camp can do anything about it. Also red camera is easy to win against, just register on business name and u can easily dispute it as company wasn't driving it.
@001looker the red light camera depends on what state your in. i know in the state i live in (florida) they are enforceable and it takes pictures of you running the light, your tag, and your face. so they send you a citation and its very hard to dispute. i'm not sure what your state your in but the law does vary from state to state
@shankmaster You said key word picture of your face aka driver. Generally ambulance do not have picture of the driver or video of his face. Also in Florida if the owner of the car is not the driver can he fight the ticket by simply saying that it wasn't me driving and have it dismissed?
@001looker i was just talking about the red light camera's, i haven't heard of camera's in fire rescue vehicles though. yes he can fight the ticket but it does cause the owner more of a hassle and at least he can make sure when he lets people drive his car they wont do stupid things. because we need to look at it as something that is there to protect us, not a bad thing that gives us tickets, people need to stop at red lights and pull over for emergency vehicles
@shankmaster So your state do not have trial by written declaration? I guess that can be a bit of pain in the ass if you have to go to court to get ticket dismissed.
@001looker in florida they way it works is you have to go to the courthouse with your citation and you have 3 options, if you want to fight the ticket they will set up a date for you to see a judge, you can just pay the fine, or if it is a moving violation you have the option to take a drivers improvement course to have the points taken off you license but you still have to pay the fine. they only time you have mandatory court is if its a criminal violation
@001looker when you go to the courthouse you don't directly see a judge though you just go to a booth where a court clerk will help you and you tell them what action you want to take
@shankmaster Well it for sure sounds like pain in the ass to fight a ticket being that you can't do it over mail even with clear proof that it wasn't you driving.
@imdrmmr1 What the says is irrelevent. Being that ambulance/fd can't write a ticket they are requesting right of way. Only cops can write a ticket as such only they are ordering you to pull over.
@ylen13 if we use ur logic.. the family of the patient we are responding to can sue u for preventing us from getting to the patient to provide emergency care. good luck in court.
@Skankpronger number one..not a lawmaker...number two...how is putting people who put their lives on the line for nothing ahead of people who would rather endanger someone elses life to satisfy their own selfish desires horse manure?
@Chiaradia14 May i suggest you check your state law again. While pull over and stop is the law, if an emergency vehicle is involved in an accident its usually considered to be at fault if it's running lights and siren.
@ylen13 Per 2006 Virginia Code § 46.2-829 - Approach of law-enforcement or fire-fighting vehicles, rescue vehicles, or ambulances, and I am paraphrasing, vehicles with lights and sirens have the right of way, and you must yield and or pull to the nearest side of the road.
@Chiaradia14 That is all nice but 1) Unless you're a piece officer you can not issue a ticket. 2) You're can only enter intersection/proceed once it's clear and safe for you to do so. If you do not follow that regulation and it result in your being involved in accident as emergency vehicle you will be found at fault. So all the law on books are nice but you need to understand how they work. Basically unless police officer witness the violation nothing will happen to those that do not yield to u.
@ylen13 True, however you were not talking about an intersection. The term pull over implys that the vehicle is behind you, in-which-case if you get hit, you are at fault. That was the original arguement. And oh, believe me, I know how the laws reguarding emergency vehicles work.
@Chiaradia14 If you hit me behind you're automatically at fault. Basically if i get hit by emergency vehicle, my lawyer will have fun time suing you/department and the city for pain and suffering in addition to vehicle repair. I been there and done that so i am speaking from experience.
@Chiaradia14 No I will never stop for emergency vehicle unless cop is around. If it's my mom or dad oh well i guess they might not make it. If firetruck on the way to my house I do not care, that is what fire insurance is for is it not? Heart? What is that? :D As for morals, hell NO.
@Chiaradia14 You need to understand that we experience death every single time we go to sleep. The only difference is when you die you do not wake up. All of us will eventually die and there is nothing we an do about it. So yes i am cold hearted.
@ylen13 You know, there is not point attempting to argue with you. Seems like you just want to fight. Everyday people put their lives on the line to help people. And there are just some people with zero compassion. I am sorry that you feel the way you do. And i hope you have a DDNR order, because if you are dieing, and i happen to resopnd to that call. I am going to do anything to save you life. That may include dieing.
@ylen13 The PD doesn't have to be around. If you fail to pull over for ANY emergency vehicle running a code response then your license WILL be suspended for up to 90 days just for the 1st offense when they turn your plate #'s over to the DMV and/or local PD. The second time it happens, then plan on taking the bus from that point on, because you probably won't have a license anymore after that.
@GP9railfan Really? Let me explain to you why you're totally wrong. The register owner is NOT responsible for the action of the driver. As such unless police witness the violation and pulls the vehicle over, there is no way to know who was driving the vehicle. You can't just suspend Register owner DL because someone was driving the vehicle violated the law. So no DL will not be suspended even if pd does pull you over as it's infraction. Might want to look up the law.
@GP9railfan Wrong, unlike parking ticket, the ticket for this infraction is issue to the driver and the driver only. So no register owner will not get a ticket. Keep dreaming if you think register owner is responsible for the action of the driver. You might want to take AJ class, you will learn a lot from it.
@GP9railfan Right on! And in my state, plan on doing jail and/or 5 yrs prison time if you continue to violate, plus up to 10K fine. This applies to ANY emergency vehicle run if the vehicle is running code 2 or code 3 and you don't yield. And even THINK of not slowing down and/or moving to the left for LE vehicles on the side of the road. We can ALWAYS find a cell for 'ya!
Makes sense!

And even THINK of not slowing down and/or moving to the left for LE vehicles on the side of the road. We can ALWAYS find a cell for 'ya!

@ShastaPacificRoad Yeah, looks like ylen13 will have to learn the hard way about what happens when you don't pull over...

@ShastaPacificRoad Unless officer witness the violation nothing will happen.
