Just pointing out to anyone who purchases the sailor moon Australian release of the 'adv' films and it says 'madman', they AREN'T FAKE even if they go for dirt cheap. Madman is a REAL company and not some bootlegging company. They are very well known over Australia and New Zealand :).
Like the season 1 box set has images from the season 1 series of DVDs and season 2 box set as well. At least they got that right haha :). They are very good for being bootlegs with no typos and using the adv/madman 'stars' and the logo looks good. The sides are the only thing that look bootleggy to me!

One box set has eleven dvds, the mivies each has their own and then the rest are spread out over the remaining 8. If it isnt bootleg, I somehow lucked out. If it is it should still be pretty good quality. Have you checked them out yet?
@StudioVibe They are unofficial, but I've only heard good things about them. Like you said, they do span the series over many discs, and although the artwork and designs are "off," it looks to be a pleasant and overall solid-looking set. Also, definitely look up "Sailor Moon Collector Sets 1 and 2 " video review by dylans26 -- very thorough!

i bought the so-called "licenced in Malaysia" 1-200 bootleg version. And though the packaging box was really pretty, the quality of the episodes i can admit were crap. Even the movies the only 1 i watched on that set (promise of the roses) was even cut at the end about 10 minutes short. Really upsetting :P
@Ftaib2012 I'd be tempted to get that set just to have when I want to put SM on DVD in my room in the background or something...but the discs just thrown into cloth sleeves inside (though practical - and makes for a cheaper product) turns me away! And that's crazy about the movie -- R is missing the epic meteor kiss? Unforgivable! :3
@mykboomboom Thank you! Wasn't too difficult. Just some Photoshop shadows and brushing to fit my own volume titles in. It was the most fun to choose which of the japanese DVD covers to use!
@MissRetroPink I would actually recommend the SMC (Sailor Moon Center) version which you can find online. The colors are vivid, very sharp, and subtitles are decorated per-character (as with all of their releases). If you're really after the DVDs, any four DVD set of the Stars season alone should be fine. Most you'll find are four discs!
@kurai666 I like the new, more pink (less dark and iconic) package. I assume the quality is watchable for viewing on TVs and DVD players, etc. -- do you think so? I'm personally one to test out in a media player on my computer, where I can see the actual image resolution and sharpness/color.
well i got bootleg ones but they seriesouly have the same menu as the adv one's on season 1 and 2 but i hate the quality, how do i delete the video and replace it with a better quality one but i still wanna keep the menu thou :)
@mykboomboom I wish this were possible! You can find so many good versions for download, often better than official DVD releases (ADV uncut season one & two). If we could emulate the actual DVD menus, you best believe the bulk of my DVD collection would be home made!
Also, can you get pretty good quality videos if you torrent the seasons? I've never actually torrented anything before, but I'm a college student on a budget and I was hoping to get one of those bootlegs, but now I'm rethinking it.

I just got the one with 1-200 and 3 movies with sailor moon and chibi moon on the cover and it has 8 discs for the show and 1 disc for the movies
worked on my tv, but I'm playing it with a ps3 so idk if that would make any difference
