  • Oh funny. He's a good talker for a sun! Most suns don't talk that well. Mine does too though & says "I LLLLLLLove You!" & makes kissing noises & says the funniest things,,, almost like he understands english well. He can do full sentences & adjust sentences like he sometimes tells his mate to "Oh will you Puh-lease just SHUT UP!" & if it doesn't then "I said, SHUT UP!" so he can put together his own sentences & things I've never taught him... some things he knew b4 I got him that I cant repeat!

  • im getting a conure and i am very excited they are sooooo pretty and colorful and i bet it will be tons of fun to train

  • Thank you so much everyone :)

    @AuntieGrizeldaa - I got him from a breeder in Maryland. :) I would never breed him - he's just my baby.  :)

  • Where did you get this precious bird? Anywhere near Illinois? Have you considered breeding him?

  • omfg soooo cute lol

  • Awwww how cute haha...I have a 4 month old sun conure....about what year of age did yours start picking up phrases??

  • He is adorabe. :)

  • Is it just me, or do sun conures talk better than most green cheek ones?

  • oh wow...our's only imitates laughs and says go night night when he wants to be covered...oh and "up up" it's more of mocking...if he doesn't want to step up, he'll nod his head and say "up up"

  • i have a sun conure too and i was wondering how old was yours when it first started talking?

  • thanks so much for all of your comments. He is my baby :)

  • thanks so much for all of your comments. he is my baby :)

  • Wow. That's an impressive range for a conure. They're not much for speaking, and usually the words they can say sound very birdlike. You have a very smart, social, and affectionate bird!

  • He looks so much like my little Kasey. Kasey only whispers "give me a kiss," though, which is funny.

    Pasha's adorable!

  • hey i have a jenday conure who is now 4, but doesnt talk yet:) he whistles and stuff thoughh haa:P

  • MY Sun conure is only 9 months old and says hello and what, when do you think she will start to talk like yours?

  • Awww, what a pretty bird you have! Is it a Jenday or a Sun Conure? I have a Jenday named Lucky Charm, and I'm hoping to catch a video of her squawking : )

  • was it very hard to train your sun conure to talk

  • @MsKalymnos I actually didn't train him - I talk to him all the time, and he just sort of picked it up. He says more and more all the time. He probably says 50 or 60 words and many phrases. :)

  • how old was your sun conure when you got it???????

  • @divadelilahrox He was about 3 months old when I got him. :)

  • Hello. Is this a Love Bird.

  • @HAM34H He is a Sunday Conure - he is 3/4 Sun, and 1/4 Jenday :)

  • @free2bjcphotos

I have a Jenday that has yet to speak a word but she is a sweetie

  • @free2bjcphotos

I have a Sunday too she doesn't talk yet but still a sweetie

  • Good job teaching him.

  • @hjones1 thanks - I really don't teach him, I just talk a lot to him :)

  • that is soo awesome! My jenday only likes to scream really loud....

  • @KewwiNicole - he screams a lot too, but talks constantly :)

  • This is pretty amazing! Great pronunciation. My sun conure just turned one and he is starting to try out his voice. I'm so proud that mine is going to talk because I know they aren't known for it. He will laugh on cue already as well.

  • @JLNymark - thanks he is pretty special :) I'm glad that your Sun is starting to talk too. :)

  • How old is Pasha? We have a four year old Jenday and he can only mimick rhythm and "sing" a little.

  • @Peanutisthebest1 - he turned 3 last November :) He learned his name at about 5 months and hasn't stopped learning/talking since.

  • My sister just got a parrot, and it's the same exact one...He will also be two years old, but doesn't know how to say anything....(except he knows how to dance)

Do you have any tips on how to get him talking???

  • Just talk to him as much as you can. Pasha sits on my shoulder a lot and I talk to him all the time. I've done this his entire life (since 12 weeks old).

  • thats the BEST i have heard out of a conure, most others just sound like bird noises but Pasha's you can really tell! amazing. I have a Sun conure, dosent talk at all

  • Thanks - he is really smart and so funny! :)

  • omg u can acctually understand what he is saying!

  • thanks - he is very smart. :)

  • Wow clearest talking conure I've seen thus far!

  • thanks - he is a good talker. He's my little sweetie :)

  • he is adorable

  • thank you :)

  • Oh my gosh, I can understand him even more than my breeder`s amazon. He`s a good talker!!! He sounds like my friend when she wakes up, haha. He seems really sweet. The same breeder has a Jenday Conure (Jay-Jay) it attacks kids! They have no idea why, they adopted him and the people at the rescue said he was even hand fed by a 10 year old who loved him a ton.

  • He is a good talker - I talk to him all the time and that helps. Conures can be very moody, so that might be Jay Jay's issue - and he might have been abused when he was a baby or something. :(

  • looks like my sun conure. but greener wings. do these birds talk better than sun conures? cause mine can say hello thats about it

  • He is 1/2 Sun Conure, 1/2 Jenday Conure. With any Conure, it's unusual to have one that talks as much as Pasha. Typically males talk better than females. The Vet thinks he talks so well because I work with him all the time, and because he's figured out he gets more of what he wants at that moment, i.e. "I want some food" if he asks rather than screaming! lol

  • Is this a sunday conure? i just got a jenday conure yesterday and it flew away! it was beautiful. Also, do the jendays have the same ability to talk as the suns??

  • He is a Sunday. I'm sorry your Jenday flew away - I do keep his wings clipped. He can fly in the house, but can't fly high enough to get away.

Jendays can talk. He talks exceptionally well for a Conure. Not sure why other than I talk to him all the time. Patience is KEY with any of them.

  • nice tricks but it is not so hopeful to hear you are hungry :)

do you want some food :) that was the best :D

  • lol pretty funny "let me come out" lke 5 times funny nice video
