  • Yes, at nineteen a lot of us sounded great. She replaced Rosalind Russell in "Wonderful Town" with a dark wig - friend who saw it told me she was unrecognizable and wonderful in the part. Charlotte Rae made a great recording of this on her "Songs I Taught My Mother" album too. Blitzstein was very witty when he wanted to be.

  • Thank you very much for sharing this! Carol Channing was really a good singer back when she started and the gravely sound had not kicked in.
