  • Hastati!

  • I had a 112 year old general who won many battles marching to this.

  • Total war just doesn't have this good music. Shogun 2 had good music but not nearly as good as romes music!

  • Awesome!!

  • Never let them keep their religious places. They must convert or die. Especially the Gauls.

  • Rome... greatest empire ever.

  • RETREAT!!!! RUN AWAY!!!! RUN!!!!

This was not my favorite part of the game.....

  • Romans.. UNLEASH HELLLLLLL!!!!!!!!

  • WOOPJAAT INFANTREH!

  • This game..is so ridiculously hard to beat on the highest difficulty...

  • @imskilled94 i almost did, i had 68 percent of the known world, had 2 major wars with both cartlage and greeks, 1 minor war with whats left of the barbarian tribes, took over all of north africa, seiged athens, and was about to burn sparta to the ground, my empire raked in 40k on low taxes everyturn, had thousands of the most advance trained men in the game

  • @imskilled94 tips, just dont get in pointless wars, make self made goals if you MUST get in a war, if you cant get these goals done in less than a decade, dont even bother unless its nesscary, war ALWAYS hurts your economy, reduce having a huge standing army, since it costs a shit ton and there are no returns, need a defense, but only portotional to how big your empire is, and how many enemys/neighbors you have, if you need easy to get land, take over gaul/germatic areas

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx yeah but those god damn senators scare me. sometimes their demands say ''we will tell your secrets'' or something scary like that so i have to start a war

  • @anessone i had same problem sometimes, but the plebs loved me, so even if the senators got mad about something i could be like

"call the guards, i dont give a fuck" and countinue to invade greece

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx how do you make the plebs happy hehe besides building churches and lowering taxes?

  • @anessone becuase i had such amounts of land, i didnt need heavy taxes, i just made it low taxes in my empire that spanned half the game map, and my senetors were getting more happy since their plans just happened to meet mine

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx howabout the distance to capital unhappines ? it makes all of my settlement's in africa go nuts.

  • @johauHAU simple, town guards to keep them in line, i also didnt destroy any of their churches/alters so thats something, and i kept the land clean of garbage

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx thanks, do you know a way instead of exterminating the populace to lover the amount f people in your city

  • @johauHAU enslave? it spreads out the population to other cities

  • @xxdomoxxkunxx ok thanks.

  • 1:35 -> 1:50 MARCH SOLDIER

  • Imperator.

  • units, await my orders!!!

  • Death before dishonor!

  • This is my favorite battle song, cheers. :)

  • this soundtrack sounds very powerful

  • and of course it's epic :D

  • Should we crucify, burn, quarter or plain exterminate those 4 barbarians who dare dislike this epic piece?

  • love this game

  • @legoman762005 Playing it right now with the latest RTR. It's the most perfect historical wargame for me right now.

  • Im trying to get my band conductor to have us play this

  • boyscouts would be less gay if they walk on this kind of music

  • Units, march!

    AYE

  • This is my favourite RTW song ever! specially the flute part at 1:55

  • What I really don't get is why some people look at videos, which the title tells what's in the video, and then dislike it. If they know they're not gonna like it, then they shouldn't visit it. The only reason to dislike a video is if the title is: Awesome Battle, and its a video of a guy going to the store and buying some cheese. In this case, I don't know why anyone dislikes this video.

  • @3DarkLord Worry not, we shall send our Legions to teach them the err of their barbaric ways. Soon they shall learn to enjoy the comforts of civilised conduct and oh... epic music appreciation :D

  • ROMA INVICTA!!!!!!!

  • ATTTTTTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!

  • wow my i was playing this game and my friend tell me :why are you playing that old game ? and i say because is the best :)

  • @51bluetiger1 you should of looked at him and then gave him a evil eye and said "GET OUT MY HOUSE"

  • Talk about bloody murder.

  • Units March!

  • отличный марш!!

  • Foolish, uncivilised invaders! Hold back these Roman dogs and their lesser culture! For the gods watch over us this day! Make sure to give them a good show!

  • DIE BARBARIAN SCUM!!!!

  • March, men! For the glory of the Empire! For ROME!

  • I remember the battle like yesterday: I was at the one side with my Spartans and my cavalerrie, on the other side my friend as Romans with his legionarys these big onagers, so i placed 7 of my cavalery-troups at the edge of the map and 3 of it together with my Spartans in the middle, so when the battle started, he couldnt see my "second army" at the edge, was not in his range of vision.

So i could easyly ride around him and attack the moving onagers behind his moving army from behind ;)

  • 4 people are barbarians.......

  • like a Tactical night raid song ....

  • Ahhh Yes...this soundtrack....reminds me of my Imperial White Legion comprised of Silver Shield Pike-men and Legionaries, flanks covered by Cataphracts, imposing my will upon a pitiful band of Eastern soldiers that Parthia considers an army.....ohh...the sweet smell of terror. :D

  • This theme was my "nirvana" when I was preparing my formations, and then unleashing hell at aprox. 2:30, that part made me go rouge! lol.

  • Exterminate Populance

    Demolish Buildings

    Que up Roman buildings.

    This land is Roman.

  • 0:40 = you are scanning the enermy and are worried about your mens morale

0:50 = you reliase that the enermy have elephants!

1:00 = you quickly think of a plan!

1:40 = you reliase that the best form of defense is attack!

1:53 = you order your men to march forward and not look back!

2:39 = you give your men an ispiring speech and you march with them

2:44 = the enermy gives a war cry and charges towards you. your men all look towards you!

  • @DrDeathStudios Its not helping that your drummers are making it dramatic :3.

  • This time of devise battles......

  • I'm currently heading up the development of an in-depth online game (OSRPG Online Simulation RPG), set around Earth in 200BCE. Starting in Rome.

The game will allow players to modify the law, as the senate. People of the Republic will vote in their favourite player in their area to represent them.

Play as a Smith. Trader. Farmer. Hunter. So forth.

I'm not one for spam, but pop me a message if you want the link. T'is some good shit. :)

    Project Terra

    Play history. Make history.

  • This is my soundtrack to Selucid domination.

  • It kills me

  • This always plays when I'm besieged by an army that has like 6 siege towers and outnumbers as well as has better units. Like should be overkill.

    But it isn't.

  • i love to hear this song while my urban cohorts march torward the enemy warband.

  • THE DAY IS OOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSS

  • Did anyone else get the urge to scream "TRIARII"?

  • @BringerOfAnarchy followed by "UUNNNNNNNNNIT MARCH!"

  • @BringerOfAnarchy URBAN COHORT!

  • @BringerOfAnarchy FIRST COHORT!

  • @BringerOfAnarchy GOD YES XD

  • After this song I always hear : Rome demands victory from your General and this day is clearly our victory :D btw Arcani are the best :D

  • This music makes me want to go out and conquer. Everything.

  • um everyone knows that the track can be found in the files right?

  • so metal

  • Reminds me of my best general :P selucid dood that I sent to invade Roma-Cathrage...Started good but then started to get raped...considering I had 1 army and 1 general and a battle eveery turn he lasted 20 years dieing at 36 in 1 last battle with 2 silver shielded pikemen and 5 cataphracts against legions of romans.....By the end of which he was called Lythuis the Great...10 command 10 management and 10 influence

  • @Twente180 yeah and when you charge catapults on defencelles archer vs awesome spartans

  • @Twente180 SPQR will be waiting for you SIR :3

  • Rome empire is the best ever exist. My ancestors.

  • A great song that inspired many Seleucid cataphract cavalry charges against huge legions of Romans on the very hard difficulty of the imperial campaign. It brought me many heroic victories :)

  • love thiish song

  • *20 000 Persians approach with elephants, beserkers, and enriched nuclear uranium rods*

SPARTANS, TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @GerudoUK - and ur mom is giving ass to barack obama in the background...

  • @GerudoUK its old.

  • reminds me of gladiator love it!

  • Quanto roccka sta marcia!!!

  • This is an incredible tune.

  • This video would be much better if the preceding page of comments didn't exist.

  • @MaulMachine YouTube as a whole would be much better if the comment sections would be removed.

  • @machine3589 How are we supposed to express our opinions about the video then? Not many of us are willing to use a video response to do that, and the current like vs dislike system is very limited in it's expression. Plus people like me, who mainly use Youtube for the music and the occasion to chat would be quite unhappy.

  • @HiveFleetHydra The answer to your question is pretty obvious.

  • man I've been searching for this for so long. ASUM <3

  • Grab your spears, throw on your helmets and pick up your shields. Get ready for WAR!

    HOO-AH! HOO-AH!

  • @ArguriosRS CCCHHHHAAAAARRRRRGGGGGEEEEEE!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH >:D *runs into enemy phalanx formation and gets stabbed and killed* AAAUUUUGGGGHHHHHH......UUGGHH......*bleeds*

  • Jeff van Dyck, you're a god!

  • Most epical music i have ever heard, ever,ever... My head nearly imploded...

  • @aziziMY

OK, enjoy your dysentery, mass slavery, cultural bigotry, bubolic plague outbreaks, and 42-year average lifespan.

  • 0:45 and now......FIGHT!

  • how/can u download this?

  • lol, i love this music. especially how the flute plays, but wut sucks is how that the sound of metal clanging, men dieing, etc. is always blocking out most of it so u only here the loud parts of the music.

  • @Persuht212

Try positioning the camera over the men, then zooming out.

  • one of the only reasons i fight in this game :P

  • @FrEeLoAdErOriginal lol, amen brother!

  • @Persuht212 lol i'm not alone :P

  • @FrEeLoAdErOriginal your never alone, lol. NOBODY SHALL BE LEFT ALONE ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH!!! Unless there total snobs. lol.

  • @ningoman download dvdvideosoft and use the youtube-to-mp3-converter ;)

  • they did use war chants but it was like a bugal in the civil war it was to bark out orders the genral would say something and the drums and stuff wuld play the beat

  • "Form, TESTUDO!!!"

  • Engaging enemies!!

    Charge!!!!

    Destory them!!!!!

  • They knew fear, they just ignored it.

They obviously had fear, but instead of running away, they tried to concentrate on following the commander's orders.

  • This song is by far one of the best in the game. Dyck really knew how to emphasize the might of the roman empire

  • Did the Romans use war chants and such in formation? I've always assumed not, being professional soldiers and all, but I don't know. Oddly, I think it'd be a lot more unnerving-- especially for a tribal army-- to face an opponent that just stands their silently.

  • @CatAtomic99

Like the Silent Death. without any emotion.

    Boy that is Scary!

  • @CatAtomic99 I don't know for sure about the romans but most of the greeks did. EXCEPT the spartans. They would form up silently, sacrifice a goat in front of you, and then silently march towards you.

  • @Wirrn I LOVE the Spartans!

  • All noobs do.

  • awesome dude

  • same here, but with wars

in a helthefull manner war is a doctor

    just like wolves are...

if you understand what i mean ;)

  • @Tahuzilla

OK, enjoy your abject poverty, malaria endemics, 40-year lifespan, and rampant land wars.

  • @MaulMachine

all this are meer details when you knwo that most of the people live with honor and fought with honor.

  • jeff van dyk is a musical genius

  • they dident even existed in ancient times

  • gracias por subir esta rola como me trae recuerdos del RTW

  • awesome.

  • when this song plays it always gets me pumped just seeing my units all armed and ready with the enemy approaching.

  • Do you have the intro theme from Rise and Fall:Civilazations at War?

    Love that theme.

  • agreed. haven't seen asia since shogun

  • This is the perfect marching music. It adds plenty of tension. It really annoys me when this piece of music gets interrupted during battle.

  • This song i named it "The Cavalry" cause when this plays everytime i'm moving my missile cavalry to attack :D

  • thank you Triarii for share this magnificalsounds !

  • @ballyballz actually, tha twouldn't be too bad. Like Roman of the THree Kingdoms Era, or unification of china,

  • Peasants!

  • Ataaaack!!!

  • Comment removed

  • damn want me to live in that age =D

  • me too

  • yaaaay=D

im not the only one xD

  • Hastati! TRIARII!

  • Urban Cohort

  • In this track, I think composer Jeff Van Dyck wonderfully captures the building suspense of the impending clash of two determined armies. Why this guy hasn't been hired to do the sound track for a major motion picture is beyond me.

  • This is REAL WAR MUSIC!!!!!!

  • Makes me think about the bravery of those men thousands of years ago... Marching into thier own death without fear or question...

  • Hrm... Pretty sure there was plenty of fear and question to go around. Rofl.

  • when you face death....you either run or fight....they were brave so they stood and fought...may EACH AND EVERY SOLDIER WHO EVER FOUGHT OR DIED have his soul rested in peace...

  • @TheAsharedhett

Don't be deceived by that thought - you think they had no fear? No soldier taking part in such a large battlefield or war can be called truly fearless. A word of advice, those who have no fear do not join pointless wars or conflicts. All soldiers know fear, whether they express it is a different story, but saying they were fearless is wrong and ignorant. Soldiers always know fear, and even more so do those safely behind friendly lines commanding soldiers to fight to their death.

  • @Tharulerme They obviously knew what it was. "Knowing no fear" would be a term to express that they didn't obey it. Nobody will throw their life away just because a commander said so. What what would they gain if they had died? Nothing. And therefore it is by their own will that they fought to the death. They might have been scared by fear, but they didn't obey or listen to it. Weaker moraled troops rioted if they were in serious danger. It is the contempt of the bravest to fight to the death.

  • @TheAsharedhett It was more like half of them would route in two seconds and half of them would die in two seconds.

Also they didn't ask questions because that was like insulting the general... Else they would LOL.

  • @TheAsharedhett they did for the love of their empire and their homeland my friend. Just like the present day soldiers are doing now.

  • @TheAsharedhett Ancient battles were a lot safer than modern battles. For 1 thing, you're only in mortal danger when you're within arms reach of someone else, and the fighting only went on for a few hours at most.

And they would question the need to fight, which is why some armies would fight to the last and others would just flee.

  • @lanz0r4tehwin

    ....WHAT.

They had javelins, arrows, and siege weapons back then too, sieges could last for MONTHS, and there was no way to treat wounds beside amputation! How is that safer?

  • @MaulMachine Oh, you mean the thrown weapons that are easily seen and you have a shield to protect you from? Yeah, that's totally more freighting than being on the verge of instant death constantly.

  • @lanz0r4tehwin

I know, right? Especially since, when in phalanx formation, you couldn't risk raising your shield.

Besides, I didn't say anything about frightening, I said safer. Way to project! :toot:

  • @lanz0r4tehwin Yep. No firearms, no bombs, no missiles, no artillery shells, which all are capable of striking you without giving you much of a chance. It only takes one soldier to coordinate that stuff from the ground.

If realizing the mortal dangers of that happening isn't enough to make someone more of a man, then I don't know what will!
