Sick. Eric Moore is underated. Once drummers get their chops up to a certain standard most of them go back to studying what it means to 'play the groove' or 'be in the pocket'. Im all for the groove (hate that word) in a song. These guys all know what they are doing and in this case overplay for a reason (clinics etc)
@garycheung92 alot of people dont realize that he has to overplay because the first thing that pops in their heads is "Well Aaron played it different!" If he played it just like Aaron then they would say " He just copied Aaron!" Cant win for losing with some of these people out there!
I smell nothing but haters on these comments. You guys upset cuz ur never going to play like this. And this guy will also out groove u!!! This was awesome that's what all those people are there for. Eric travels the world showing off chops. I've been in this game 17 years. All the greats do this to. I have been to so many clinics. Do u guys know buddy rich. Why did he make it big. Why is he the most famous drummer ever??? Hand speed!!!!! So cut the shit.
@ethos1984 alot of it is really tastey, and yes its fashion at the moment, its wont be forever. Its not bad or not very good, im just fed up with the whole concept, its boring me and self induldgent. I love the style of drumming.
These guys play much more musical in a band situation i couldnt agree more. I would prefer to see Arron spears play a drum solo at a drum show if i had payed 20 to get in, not throw some licks down over a pop song.
@bentecho honestly i think how everyone is trying to be a fast drummer is just a drumming fad. drumming changes almost every few years. when my uncle would play the drums back in the 80s and 90s he said drumming was way different than it is now. when i started playing back in the late 90s drumming was different from what it was then and from what it is now. 6-7 years ago drumming was different, drumming goes through phases i think.
@DeeWdrum its intrersting, i did watch a few vids of ushers band, and it is really a tottally different style of music to what the recordings are. It is more like neo soul type fusion that has sprung up over the last few years, i like it a lot. Gill Scotts band a killin, i saw them in Bristol in England, very tastey playing all round on the love CD. the drummer never over cooks it. There is a lot about pop music which is in fashion at the mo.....auto tune. Thumbs down.
@bentecho I get what your saying about him shredding too much. honestly hes my favorite drummer but im getting tired of this age of drumming where everybody feels the need to play as fast as they can and show off all there moves in a song. I miss the age of drumming where people played a song with the muscicians and everyone would be in awww if the drummer did just a simple drum roll and if you did a pardidle you were considerd the best. now every1 wants speed and to be a knowitall drumer
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
what is the point of having the song on if your just gonna solo over it, its like the song just makes the grooves sound better, same goes for arronn, same goes for all of it really. Im kinda fed up with drum covers, whats the point.. Not good enough to hold an audience with just a solo basically. I love these drummers, but they gotta stop with playing songs, or inevnt some new style of fusion or something. Arronn had that song locked down until he started shredding to much.
@termo16 I agree with you! I´m a pro Drummer too....but I love watching those....after all...this is where I get a lot of Ideas for my own fills! Or I´m plainly stealing their´s ;)
@bentecho I just miss the time when i could see a drummer do something amazing and i could actually go home and attempt to copy that move. Now you can see a drummer do something over and over again and still never know what hes doing, and if by some miracle you could see his movements without slo motion theres no way you could do what hes doing unless you had 2000 beat per minute hand speed
@bentecho it's a drum showcase not a live performance... it was meant to be more solo heavy than pocket playing.... geez u can tell when jealous ppl comment videos
@bentecho i could tell you aren't a fan of this why even comment??? when you go to a show do you hear them playing like this??? this is for us drummers and musicians that like this kinda stuff IF YOU DON'T GO AWAY LOLOL
@bentecho i think you're missing the point....this isn't a "concert"....this is a drum demo. it's not about going to hear "music", it's about going to hear a really good drummer let loose and show some new concepts. the FACT of the matter is that the song is nothing more than a click track...but who wants to hear a click track? that's why the song...not because people are there to hear an Usher song. if you don't think these guys know how to lay down a clean solid pocket....YOU'RE WRONG!
@bentecho this kind of drummers use to play solos over the songs for practice their licks, phrasing and new stuff. They can play the song with less fills and more groove of course, but in this case it´s just a practice moment. Try it some day!
@bentecho listening to solos is cool, but only for so long. Showing what they changed in a song is great, also shows their timing - which Eric's is amazing, and also give a backing track for the drums. Aaron plays live for Usher, I'm not sure if he was the original studio performer for the song. I prefer the live (and sicker...might I add) chops of the gospel drummers.
sounds good, but not Authentic...when Aaron played it it was a lot more musical and his chops fit the song "meaning he can play those chops on stage with the band and they wouldn't be over kill....I like Eric as a drummer but he is no Aaron Spears..
@drewkerz9 heck ya ive been looking for one on youtube since i heard of eric moore. I even went to aarons channel saying he should do a shed with eric moore.
@snorpthus Maybe, but not likely. Any other drummer could play 2 'Caught Up' and we wouldn't frown. I figure Aaron OWNS this....I'd like 2 see what would happen if they got together.
@MARVINtheROBOTER just cause i used to play pokemon means i cant drum?!! what kind of fucked up universe u live in beside my comment was 2years ago troll on somewhere else how far did you have to dig in comments to find mine hahaha
@Megasiviper no man i didn't say that you're unable to play drums. The fact that you responded the way you did just points out that you seem to be unable to read correctly.I saw your comment and realized that you affronted me. My first comment was not meant to offend anyone but to be a statement about how mutch I respect Eric Moore and his playing. I'll ignore further rude comments of you, as these seem to be the only kind you are able to write. Peace bro
