thanks for this great video! i have this playset in the house where i moved. i want to move it about ten feet. how is it anchored to the ground? would it be difficult to move?
@progmac I anchored it using the ground anchors that were supplied. I put mine in concrete, though if I remember right, the directions said it wasn't necessary to do that. The supplied anchors go underneath the floor of the main unit. If you look along the side of the base, you should see some bolts about halfway down the wood. It might be pretty heavy, but if you disconnected the swing part, that would probably help some. Good luck!
@progmac If I remember right (I'm not at home right now) they should be removable with a #3 Phillips screwdriver and the right size wrench. You will probably have to remove a few of the floor boards to get at them, but those are just screwed on and should be easy to remove and re-attach.
I am building mine this weekend. I have level solid concrete blocks set on top of concrete mix (just add water). Looks like u did a good job.
Did you restain to match the original color? Do you know what color stain that is? I am thinking about covering the sand box with cedar planks (not the $120 overpriced kit) and want to stain to match.
@sippinjoes Sorry that it has taken so long for me to respond. Did you get yours built? I use a stain/UV protector called "Flood" and I use the cedar finish color of it. I got it at Lowe's but saw it at Wal-Mart recently. It matches the color really close and does a good job. Hope this helps!
@swake13 Almost finished with it. It takes some time and I don't have much of it these days. I picked up an Olympic semi-perm stain in the color Redwood at Lowe's. The cedar looked to light. I haven't tried it yet, but I built the deck over the sandbox area out of Yellawood and it looks like it will stain good. Once it dries some I'll stain it. I plan on staining over the entire playset this fall to protect it for the winter rains in North AL.
Hi, looks awesome! We are thinking about buying this set from Samsclub, so the video is super helpful. Do you think the slide and the front ladder (off the crow's nest) can be switched so that the slide comes off the front and not the side? I think that would work better for our backyard. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!
@mamalovesbaby1 I suppose you could move the slide there and make your own holes. Almost everything is pre-drilled, so it was easiest to just follow the directions. If you're handy with carpentry, I would say you could adjust it as needed.
is there any concrete work for the footings on this playset or does it sit on the grass? great video btw, thanks for posting. we are thinking of purchasing one. do you like it?
@crhannan I placed it on the grass. I had to put a couple stones under a couple of the feet just to even it out, but that is just because my lawn was just a bit uneven. I also put the ground stakes into concrete, but according to the instructions, you don't have to. We love it. My 3 year old plays on it all the time and my 12 year old likes to camp out in it in the summer. Like I said before, I just put a fresh coat of stain/sealer/protectant on it every year. I really enjoyed building it, too!
@SouthernSaltine It's holding up just fine. I just put a protective stain coat on it every year. Other than that, it's still just as sturdy as when built.

Wow, Did you calculate the total hours spent putting it together. It looks like you did a great job.

@BackyardDiscovery - Actually, I didn't calculate the hours spent. However, there were a couple long days! :)
